LENA’S POINT OF VIEW

I slowly wake up with a searing pain in my head and chest, making me choke out a cry as I try to move. “Maia…” I mumble softly, my eyes closing as hot tears fall because of the pain. Maia still sleeping, she doesn’t hear my voice calling her. I try to get up by myself and rest my head on the headboard. “Shit! Where's the painkiller?” I whimper out, scanning the painkillers inside the drawer as I rest my head on the headboard.

I groan as it hurts to breathe “Shit” My eyes close again as I stop scanning the painkillers. A shifting beside me makes me open my eyes again, Maia pulling me into her side “What’s wrong?” She asks worriedly, rubbing my back. “Painkillers!” I say in a low voice as I slowly close my eyes again. I hear the bedsheets moving and the shaking of a pill bottle. A few moments later Maia comes back to my side of the bed with water and the painkillers, helping me sit up.

I take the medication and close my eyes, letting my head fall back as I wait for the pain to subside. Maia sighs and runs her hands through my hair, kissing my cheek softly. “What time is it babe?” I whisper softly, enjoying her touch. “It’s 3 AM baby…” Maia says in a raspy morning voice. “Shit! I’m sorry for waking you up babe” I say. “It’s okay babe, my friends keep calling me since 12 AM, I haven’t answered their calls” Maia chuckle.

“Jeez, it’s 11 June!” I cup Maia’s cheek and kiss her lips, feeling her lips on mine. “Happy Birthday baby… I love you so fucking much” I say, caressing Maia’s cheek gently. Her smile cured all the pain in my body “I love you too Lena…” Maia says. “We should have a nice vacation in Cambodia, Vietnam, or Bali… Instead of stuck on the bed together with a broken rib” I chuckle “Sorry for ruining your birthday babe” I say.

Maia stares at me with her sparkly eyes “Being with you is my choice, and stuck with you in here is my pleasure” Maia says, grabbing my hand and rubbing her knuckles over my thumbs softly. “The pains bearable now, I need my big spoon” I pout, patting the space beside me. I see Maia’s beautiful dark brown eyes sparkle gently as she moves under the covers, gently wrapping her arm around my waist as she spoons me close.

“Uhh… It’s kinda hot here” Maia whispers. I chuckle “Haha… Are you?” I raise an eyebrow as I bite my own lip. “Jeez babe…” She laughs “Mmm… kind of” Maia says in a deep voice. “Wanna fuck the pain away?” I say in a low voice, kissing Maia’s lips gently. “Mmm…” She moans into my mouth softly. The pain of medication kicks in but the kisses cured all the pain “Mmm…hmmm… Lena stop…” Maia removes her lips from me.

I laugh softly “Why babe?” I raise an eyebrow. “You're still sick, we can’t fuck now” Maia says, wiping her lips. “Jeez Maia…” I laugh. Maia stares at me and locks her eyes into mine, feeling our love. “How did I get so lucky?” I ask out loud softly. “Lena… You were the one who got the worse beating” Maia whispers with a guild laced in her voice. “Maia I don’t care that I got hurt more, all that matters to me is that you’re okay…” I smile.

“And I meant how in the world did I get so lucky to have a girlfriend as perfect as you?” I say, holding Maia’s hand which wrapped around my waist. Maia gently kisses my cheek and chuckles “Aleena, I’m not perfect… but you don’t know how happy I am to have you in my life” She whispers and I shake my head. “Mmm… Maia LaLuna, the daughter of a successful businessman in Jersey being softie” I whisper, turning over slowly to look at her.

“I could get used to it” I chuckle and a smile cracks on Maia’s face. “Good… because you’re gonna have softie Maia LaLuna until you recover fully” Maia hums. I cup her cheek gently, kissing her lips softly. “That’s perfect babe, I wouldn’t want anyone else” I say, locking my eyes to hers. “Alright… time to have a sweet baby dream” Maia says, caressing my hair gently. I get closer to Maia and nuzzling into her chest, she gently stroking my back and we fall asleep.

The overwhelming pain comes out of my head, I wake up slowly before Maia, our bodies clothed in nothing but the thin white bedsheets covering us. Last night was so hot and we decided to undo our clothes last night then back to sleep. A naked Maia is laying next to me, sleeping as she wrapping her hands on my waist. My phone suddenly rings in vibrate, making me jump and Maia stir slightly in my arms.

I reach over my phone on the bedside and I see Sasha’s name just pop up on my phone screen, I lock my phone and about to lean myself on the bed, it’s 7 AM here and I should wake. “Bzz… Bzzz” The phone vibrate. I reject the phone, peppering kisses all over Maia’s face to wake her up. I kiss Maia’s pretty bare faces, from the cheeks, chin, to the forehead. Her morning smell feels like cotton candy. My phone rings again “Fuck jeez” I mumble as I reach over my phone. “Jeez Sasha” I sigh and pick up the phone.

“Stop calling me Sash, I’m done!” I whisper through the phone.

“Hey, how are you doing?” Sasha says.

“Fuck you, you fucking bitch… stop being nice to me!” I whisper in anger.

“Haha… I’m not being nice, I just missed you…” Sasha laughs.

“You know what I mean…” She says.

“Screw you Sash!” I whisper, my blood boiled.

“In the name of La Reina de los Muertos, Queen of the Int Cartel. I’m gonna make your life like hell and never let you out!” Sasha says.

“I try to be nice, but my guys fucked your girlfriend up. Mmm… but I’m not sorry for that” She laughs.

“I’m so obsessed with you Lena… why don’t we talk and make a deal? Mmm… thought mine is better than your girlfriend’s isn’t it?” Sasha says under her breath.

“Just stay the fucking away from my girlfriend! I’ll give you all the money you asked soon!” I say.

“Hehe… I’m not talking about the money right now” Sasha laughs softly.

“I… I’m talking about… your touch…” She softly breathes.

“I don’t wanna force you… but you know… I’ve always got everything I wanted” Sasha says.

“Mmm… if not… you know what can I do to you… or your girlfriend… mmm… we maybe can ask her to join us, like we used to…” Sasha says.

“Don’t ever dare to think about that! You’re psycho toxic bitch!” I say, covering my mouth to not wake Maia up.

“Haha… Why? I thought you like it Lena… You like something dirty right? Like dumped me and fucked your employe!” Sasha scoffs.

“Jeez Sash, I told you that we’re over before I met Maia and you fucking never listen to me!” I say.

“Why don’t you find someone else to mess with?!” I say as my temper getting bigger.

“Ahh… I don’t want anyone else… I want you…” She scoffs.

“You’re psycho!” I say, hanging up the phone and throw the phone next to my pillow.

“Fuck” I mumble as I lean myself to the bed, next to Maia. She’s still sleeping, I get closer to her and facing her, feeling the morning smells and breath of her in my nose. I smile as I’m looking at her and all my pain is suddenly gone, Maia is not my first girlfriend but she’s my first love. And Sasha would never let us happy, I’ll find way to get the money as soon as possible and give the money back to Sasha. I kiss all over Maia’s face, tries to wake her up again.

She eventually wakes up with my kisses and I pull back slightly with a smile on my face. Her eyes flutter open and she yawns “Good morning sunshine…” I say softly. “Baby you’re awake! How’s the feeling?” Maia says in a raspy voice. “I feel better honey… I could move my hands and my body” I say. “Sounds great, ready for the most changing day of your life?” Maia says, slowly sitting up and stretching.

I chuckle “The entire world is already knowing you’re mine and all mine” I say, push the bedsheets off from me and find a loose sweater on the floor from last night. “Jeez, Lena! Be careful… you’re still sick” Maia says worriedly. “Baby I’m fine! I’m not a toddler, you can’t lock me on the bed all day” I chuckle. “Ughh… you’re right” Maia yawns. “I need to let Dmitri knows and get back to work” I say.

“A likely story...” Maia says in disgust, getting up from the bed. “Baby please!” I say, looking at her. “I’m fine! Look” I say as I’m standing next to the bed. “Whatever” Maia says as she makes her way to the bathroom. “Shit” I mumble. I walk towards the balcony and lean my hand on the balcony handle, looking around the view and feel the morning air, I could hear the ocean waves crashed the seashore as I close my eyes.

My mind keeps thinking about how to get the money in a short time when I was sick, if I do by myself I may get caught. The surgery pain suddenly comes, hitting my whole body and head as the pain killers are stopped working. I can’t stand anymore, I sit on the balcony floor as my hand still hanging on the balcony handle “Babe…” I say in a high voice, held the pain in my body. “Maia” I whimpering. “Jeez Lena” Maia comes from the bathroom and runs to me quickly.

“Gosh Lena!” She wrapped me in her arms. “I’m fine babe, just a little bit hurt. I need my meds now” I say as I heavily sigh. Maia takes the medicine on the table with a glass of water in her hands “Thanks babe” I say, drinking the water after I ate the meds. “Are you sure you’re gonna back to work soon?” She says. I lock my eyes to her and sigh “Yeah… But honestly, I can’t do this by myself…” I say.
