LENA’S POINT OF VIEW
“Jeez fucking psycho motherfucker” I mumble as I put my phone at the table. “What happened?”’ Dmitri says as he highly raises an eyebrow in confusion. “See!” I unlock my phone and show him the messages. “Holy shit!” Dmitri mumbles as he looking at the phone screen. I wanted to barf as I read the second one. Honestly, Sasha had no respect for herself… I’m just glad that I didn’t have to comply.
I eventually decided to not care about her… Instead, I found a nice seat to relax with my best friend and gaze out onto the city of Vegas. The light of the restaurants, hotels, bars and Casinos resemble the fireworks light at the new year’s eve from my distant view. I couldn’t help but wonder what events were happening within the buildings. Were the people talking, laughing, partying and gambling, or spending time with the one they love.
The sad part is the people who sit alone at the corner table with a margarita in their hands and musing. Like me… but technically that wasn’t true, I have Maia in my life and I wish I had Maia here right now, I wish I could tell her that I need her the most. And I had Dmitri who sits in front of me right now, he’s my best friend. I met him five years ago when I was 23 when I went to my dad’s house.
Dmitri was talked with my dad in his house with a couple of men before I got there, Dmitri got there one hour before me. I came to my dad's house excitedly before he broke my heart and told him that I’m his daughter. He let me in as he said “Who are you?” And he stared at me. I sat on the huge cozy couch in front of daddy and his sugar blonde baby… he looked at me and thought that I came to him to be one of his sugar babies.
“I’m Lena…” I looked at him and inhale deeply “I’m your daughter” I said as I looked at him who sat in front of me, rests his hand on the sugar baby’s shoulder. He sat in silence as he heavily sighed and stared at me “Holly shit” He said. I sat in silence as I waited for him to say more… “How’d you find me?” He said as he cleared his throat. My dad is a rich man with a bunch of property and sugar babies.
My mom isn’t one of his sugar babies… she just fell in love with him at the first sight and created me. “Well, I saw your old vacation picture with my mom in Venice and the address behind the picture inside my mom’s old note, then I decided to come here” I said. “Oh, you saw that shit? That was embarrassing… I’m not even handsome as now” He said as he leaned on the luxury cozy couch.
I inhale deeply and told nothing as I pointed my eyes to him. “I can’t believe you’re my kid, man! You’re my kid!” He said as he pointed me with his hands excitedly “I’m so happy to see you” He said as he stood with his knees on the floor and pointed at me. I’m so happy when I heard him said that, but he broke my heart after that. “Yeah, me too” I said as I pointed him with my eyes. “Cause I would’ve never recognized you in a million years” He said.
“And you got a serious nice boob on you too...” He said as he pointed to Dmitri who sat on the other couch. “I mean, I could have accidentally fucked her, right? But that would have been bad. No, seriously… that’s twisted! Fuck… I didn’t say that” He said. My heart broken when I heard those words run inside my ears and he said that in front of many people. I could saw the same grief as mine on Dmitri’s face as he looked at me and shook his head.
“Um… is there a bathroom?” I said, “Is there a bathroom?” I said once more as I get up from the cozy luxury couch. The sugar baby chuckled as she pointed her finger to the bathroom “It’s down there” She said. “Right, thank you!” I said and I leave them all. I could hear the sugar baby laughed “Her boob” She said as she chuckled. And my dad answered her as he turned on the smoke in muse “That would’ve been fucked up… wow” He said.
She keeps laughed as she said “Her fucking boobs hahaha”. I got into the bathroom and clear my mind, I inhale deeply, sniffled and looked myself at the mirror. I wiped my tears and act like nothing happened, I open the bathroom door and leave the bathroom. Dmitri stood in front of the bathroom “Jeez! You scared me” I said as I looked at him who stood in front of me. “You okay?” Dmitri said as he furrowed his brows.
“I’m fine, I’m just… I’m just gonna go home” I said as I walked leaving the bathroom. “He’s not what you thought” Dmitri said as he leaned his self on the wall. I turn around as I stood in silence and I heavily sighed “it’s fucking depressing” I scoff as I looked at him. “Been imagining this moment your whole life?” Dmitri said. “I had this red dress I always thought I’d wear if I ever meet him” I chuckled as I looked at Dmitri.
“Nice, a red dress” Dmitri chuckled “What happened?” He said. “You’re right… maybe that would’ve made the difference” I said. “Most people…are better in grey” Dmitri smiled “It’s Lena, right?” He said. “Yeah” I said as I stare at him. “Dmitri” He said as he runs his hand to mine. I reached his hand and shook the hand. “Wanna drink?” He said. I chuckled “No, thanks” I said. “Smart girl” He said as he chuckled.
“Dmitri, what are you doing hanging out with these losers?” I said as I lowered my tone and chuckled. Dmitri sighed “Uh…they’re my investors” He said. I highly raised my eyebrows “What do you do?” I said. “I had a part in an international drug cartel” He said as he rests his hands on his hips. I laughed cause I don’t believe anything that I just heard “Right…” I said. I highly raised an eyebrow as I stare at him in confusion and he looked at me in silence.
That was the first time I met Dmitri and he became my best friend right now. “Ah… finally” I groan as I’m looking at the food. Dmitri ordered sea-foods and strawberry alcoholic juice for us “Woahh… this is so nice” I say as I chew the food and close my eyes. Dmitri chuckles “Not good as the homemade foods” He says as he chews the food. “Damn… I almost forgot! Maia” I say in dismay. I reach my phone on the table and I call Maia, she must have arrived in Queens right now.
