“Mmm right” I chuckle a little bit, my mouth form into a small laugh, my cheeks get rosy as my eyes keep looking at her. “You’re a bad fool, Maia” Z starts to talk. “You can’t fool people but you fool yourself easily” She ends with a little laugh on her face. “Well, right… I’m really bad at it” I reply as I’m tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. “Okay, my turn! I’m gonna ask you a personal question” I start. “Mmm-hmm okay” Z hums.

“Why do you like girls? Isn’t it kind of contradictory? I mean, you’re Muslim right? You’re from Middle East” I ask. “Sorry if it’s exaggerated” I heavily breathe intensely, with a little bit of laugher on my face. Z sigh, she takes a deep breath as she looks at me. “I didn’t choose my sexuality. I didn’t choose myself to like women. It’s not about from where and what religion you’re born, it’s about how far you know yourself and how you embrace yourself”

“Since I was a kid, my parents taught me if a woman is should be with a man, they’re created to be together, they created to love each other. Man and woman, ughhh… it’s funny right?” Z laughs softly as she points her gaze to the ceiling and groans. “Liking woman it doesn’t oppress me but liberates me from society, people tend to get uncomfortable when they’re cannot put you behind your clothes, but I’ve always liked to make people felt that way” She ends.

“Hehehe you really good at it” I laugh softly, my eyes look at her. We both end with a small laugh and giggles. Z is a gorgeous and smart woman, she knows how to read people, she knows how to make people like her at the first sight. She’s not only gorgeous and smart, but she also attracted to my cover. “Hey, can I have it?” An inmate suddenly interrupted us. “Uh, sorry! I didn’t see you coming” Z takes the book from her and gives her the approval stamp.

“Thanks” The inmate off and leave. Both Z and I didn’t realize that the library is already full of people, they sit not far from our desk and read a book. “I- I didn’t notice they’re coming” Z says. “I didn’t notice, either” I respond. “Alright, time to work” Z sighs and she started marking all the books and putting the book on the library racks after. I help her a little bit and we’re having a good moment. It’s almost 11 AM and I have to call Rosa.

“Hey, I’m gonna call my sister for a while, I’ll be right back after I’m done, you’re okay if I leave you here?” I say. “Oh, sure! That’s alright” Z says. “Okay, I gotta go” I smile as I place the rest of the book on the table. I make my way to the public inmate payphone and leave the library. It’s not far from the library and I reach the payphone in five minutes. There are a couple of people on the line and I have to wait for them to done before I reach mine.

It’s been three minutes I waited in line and I finally grab the phone in my hand. My credits are full of money and I have unlimited calls. Instead of typed Rosa’s number on the phone, I tried to calling Lena instead. I’m waiting for her to pick up the phone and hoping that she will answer the phone. “We’re sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed” The operator says. I off the phone and place the phone back, I lost interest to call Rosa after.

I heavily breathe and sigh, leaving the payphone and make my way to my cell. I reach my room and throw myself on my prison bunk, I feel sad and tired, it comes when I found myself wanting Lena in my life. It’s been two hours since I stayed on my bunk and do nothing. I leave my lunch break and choose to stay on my bed. “Ughh…” I groan as I keep looking at the ceiling and place my hand on my back head with a blank mind.

“Maia?” Z suddenly comes to my cell, she grabs me some fruit from the lunch break. “I didn’t saw you coming to the lunch break, are you okay?” She asks, she walks closer to my bedside and sits on it. I up and sit next to her “Hey, I-I’m fine! What’s up?” I say. “Oh, I grab this for you, hope you like it” Z says as she gives me the fruit. “Thanks” I smile and I take the fruit after. I eat the apple and sigh, my eyes point at the ceiling.

“What’s happening?” Z asks. “Mmm nothing! I’m just tired” I reply as I chew the apple. “Really?” She responds with a raised brow. “Y-yeah” I reply briefly. “Ummm okay then” Z sighs, she points her gaze to the ceiling after. “Oh, I have something for you” Z quickly reaches her pocket. “I heard you didn’t have internet access in your room” She starts. “Well…” She groans, she gives me a small paper after. “W-what is it?” I ask.

“J-just read it!” She says. “Titty?” I read the paper in confusion. “W-what the hell is it?” I highly raise my brow. “It’s the Wi-Fi password, Maia!” Z laughs of loud, her face getting red. “Hahaha seriously?” I laugh. “Yeah, it’s for you. I paid for your Wi-Fi for a month, so you don’t have to wait in the payphone line if you want to call your sister or family. You can FaceTime your family every single time you miss them” Z says.

She really good with me, and it makes me distract myself from Lena. “Uhhh, thank you Z!” I smile as I’m looking at her. “Hehe you’re welcome!” She replies with a sweet smile on her face. “Okay, now put the Wi-Fi on!” Z off from the bedside and make her way closer to my prison drawer. I chuckle and up, I turn my computer on and put the Wi-Fi on. “Wow, this is so great!” I say in a low voice as I’m clicking my computer.

I installed a lot of games after, it makes me feel a little bit happier and Z is there for me. “Thank you so much Z, you don’t have to do this, I-I can pay for-” I didn’t finish my words but she cut me off. “Shhh…” She shushes me then. I back to the bedside and sit next to her while waiting for the games done. “A small thing like this, it’s really meant to me… Z” I smile as my eyes point to her eyes. Z left a sweet smile as she looks at me “It’s meant to me, either”

I laugh softly, my eyes point to the ground as I left a little smile on my face. “I swear I didn’t do this with feeling and I hope so…” Z says. “But I really wanted to say, uh…” She heavily breathes as she looks at me. “Was, uh…” She groans. I give her a look in silence with a raised brow and a little smile on my face. “Was just how amazing you” She shook her head and smiles. “You’re gorgeous and thoughtful, honest and a little bit naive”

“And you’re the only woman I’ve ever met, who you know… completely throws me off my game” She heavily breathes and blushes. “And…” She whooshing breathes softly, her fingers crashed to each other, as she releases the air and it touches my face. I keep looking at her and waiting for her to finish her sentence intensely. “And… I” She talks in stutters, her legs start making a movement and I could feel the tremor on my prison bed.
