Chapter 69: Chapter 69
Chapter 69 Kate on the search
Kate was highly infuriated at the sight of her nudity which was making the round at school. Upon beholding the video, her mind went straight to Tony. Obviously she had no other boyfriend than he and what crazed her so much were the scoff, gossip, and mockery of her that hung across the school.
When she got to her terminal, amidst gnashing teeth, she boarded a VIP taxi to Tony’s home. She was going to teach him the lesson of his life. He would have to explain to the nude video- there was a mystery and she was out-and-out to know the mystery.
She was sobbing now. The taxi driver caught hold of her drawn wry face in the mirror in front.
“Hi, hope all is well?” the driver asked and when his answerer gave him the cold shoulder he said, “Did your boyfriend break your heart. Is a pity, take care OK.”
As for Kate’s sobbing there was no stopping her, she had her face in her soft palms and wailed on. She wanted to understand Tony’s reason for mistreating her. The effervescent of disgust and hate hung on her shoulders that she was ready now to put an end to their relationship she had suffered a lot in the spiky hands of Tony. Her mind paced back to Brian; she knew Brian wouldn’t treat her the way Tony had been treating her. She had the choice to choice either of them and it was her idea to give both of them a fair chance so she could know whose heart beat the most for her. Although Brian had misbehaved by bathing with her in the bathroom when she was drunk, she still felt pained for him; she had misjudged him and over reacted. Unlike Tony who despite being a cocaine dealer was playing Mr. Nice Guy. He had been her only sex mate she had never been in bed with any other guy and to call a spade a spade ; it was the second time her nude video was leaking. And she was just going to confront Tony and that time was nigh.
The taxi pulled over Tony’s compound and she squeezed a fifty dollar note into the palms of the driver.
“Oh baby girl, come on, don’t worry about the bill. I pity you so much for the heart break,” the driver said, pulled out his hand to return the money
Kate stared at him briefly, breathed hard and collected the money from him. “Thanks,” she said and made to the door. As she rang the bell her stares combed around and saw Tony’s cars and one other strange Kia salon. And she perceived his boys were in there too.
Abruptly an idea struck in her head, and it was that she wouldn’t raise a dust if she got in; she would walk straight into his bedroom and ransack the whole place for camera.
“Yes,” she whispered within herself. There was a secret camera with which he had been using to film her whenever they had sex and it would be enough evidence for her to nail Tony down.
A shuffle sounded near the door and she knew someone was approaching it.
“Who are you?” the voice asked.
And she replied bluntly, Kate!”
The door creaked open and Tony’s grimaced face shot at her. Kate what are you doing here?”
She forced a smile. Is it a crime to visit my man now?
“It has never been a crime,” he replied, stopping her at the door and questioning her. “It is just that I am too busy with my men. I may not carve out time for you, you know what I mean,” he said and smacked his lips and wanted to touch her face but Kate held his hand.
“I am not a bunch of distraction. Am I? You can continue with your shady deals while I wait in the bedroom,” she replied.
He raised a brow, “Bedroom?” he asked swiftly rolling his eyes.
“Yes, your bedroom and not your life.” She winked at him “Or do you have another floozy in there?”
He shrugged, “Hell no, you know I can’t do such a thing. I can’t cheat on you.”
Kate said in her mind,; As though you haven’t done worse.
“Is just that I have so much cocaine piled up there and …” he stuttered and Kate peered at his mouth to hear vividly what he was about saying next. “I don’t trust anybody when it comes to cocaine.”
Kate was going blues already. “For goodness sake, I don’t do coke or have you seen me with one? I just want to have some rest in your bedroom while you run deals with your boys.”
“I know,” he implied, “But you can always do that in your house. I mean my house is not a head-resting center. Once we are done, I will ring you to come over.”
“Do you love me and don’t trust me?” she asked, feeling this bizarre heart beat slamming within her bust and wishing she could let this outburst of fury building in her.
“I love you and trust you. But cocaine is involved here,” he said and one of his boys called his attention to a phone call and he obliged him to answer the call since he was very much busy with his girl. “Ok, fine, I will let you in on one condition?” he said.
“What could that be?” Kate replied, stealing a glance at one of the boys wrapping up cocaine into a false bag.
“You are not going to stay in my room. You are going to stay in the visitors’ room.”
She snorted at him, “So I am a visitor now,” she said, feeling like to get mad at him immediately and then walk away but she had a plan and she was going to fulfill it before her wounds could be healed and turn green.”
“You mustn’t read meaning into every damn thing,” he said, widening his gaze at her. “Are you in or not?” he asked, his gaze full of suspicion as he beheld Kate’s countenance fall greatly. Kate shook her head; inwardly she was boiling in rage. She had anger up her gut and she almost lost it. As she walked into the sitting room, she beheld five of his boys wrapping up cocaine and piling into the false bag. They stared haughtily at her and she unlocked her eyes from their stare and looked straight, walking after Tony who led her into the visitors’ room.
And nothing was going to stop her from her plans anyway, even though Tony locked her up in the visitors’ room and went away with the key, so she wouldn’t trespass into his room.
Everything was about taking a new shape… Kate on the search…
