Chapter 68: Chapter 68

Chapter 68 ~I owe you my body forever~

The lively atmosphere at the wedding venue was very intense that anyone could perceive that the couples were related billionaires- Ella who was grandma’s laborer and Ella’s husband the billionaire himself.

With little Khally in his arms, Brian sat next to grandma in absolute frowns and fallen gaze Earlier he wanted to be well suited to grace the occasion, but changed his mind. He went for sleeves, pair of pant and oxford, even when grandma advised him to put on a hat, he protested and rejected the idea- of a truth his hurt was up his gut- the fact that Ella was to be married and she would be gone with Khally crazed him so much that he wished he could annul the wedding. Although he had nursed a soft spot for Ella and it was a feeling he had watched sprout to be for good- to him Ella was like a sister he never had, even when the aura of lust and obsession craved in, he saw himself pulling back- inarguably being pulled by the gravity of love he still had for Kate.

Grandma read the emotional ruin and penury on his face and asked swiftly, “You had better perk up,” she muttered and Brian turned his gaze to her, “Yes. You know Ella is a pretty woman and must move on with her life.”

He rolled his eyes, “I don’t know why I am feeling that all is not going to be well with her in this marriage,“ he said.

Grandma shot her scowled face at him and her face became more wrinkled than usual. Her jaw dropped as she said, “I expected that from you. I knew you were going to be pessimistic about this marriage. You badass kid, you really want the marriage to go wrong so that she can return back to your arms. You think I don’t know you have been sleeping with her,” she sounded.

“Hell no, granny, I have never slept with her, also I wish her well. What am I going to gain, going against a woman I adore so much?”

“But you just did,” grandma retorted, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Or do you have another Brian in you …?” she was interrupted at once by the quietness that suddenly possessed the guests.

Brian and grandma threw their glare aback only to behold Ella and her husband marching in.

Brian smiled at her beauty and was astounded to realize that such beauty had been housed by Ella all along. She earned her beauty from the Indian make-over artist that she hired- indeed she courted a pretty, dashing picture of rich, Indian celebrities that appeared on televisions. Her body filled the wedding gown like her smiles filled Brian’s heart. As she walked past Brian, Khally winced and sobbed at the sight of Ella.

“Shhh, mum is getting married don’t distract her,” Brian warned Khally and pecked him. The baby didn’t succumb to him rather he wailed so loudly that guests threw their attention on Brian and the kid, which weak-kneed Brian at that moment.

“Nanny boy, take the lad outside and stop distracting this holy matrimony,” grandma said, tapping on Brian’s shoulders.

“Shhh,” Brian warned yet further as he took Khally outside.

Just then the priest opened the ceremony with oath taking as he turned to Ella and said, “Repeat after me, I Ella Johnson take you Mike Lakers to be my lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do us part.”

Ella repeated after the priest and her husband Mike was conducted through same ritual, after which they wore each other ring.

The priest added, “You have hereby declared your consent before the church. I hereby announce you both husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,” he said smiling.

Brian stared agape, feeling like to shut his eyes and feeling never to; Ella’s lips smacked briefly and opened gracefully like zero-figure, onto Mike’s lips which engulfed her lower lips like the hunger of a new born onto its mother’s nipple. They sucked each other so sweet and sensual that Brian imagined it to be him and Kate. The guests clapped and their kissing ended with a contagious smile.

Quickly Ella flung her flower and it was caught by Brian with one of his arms. Everyone clapped sporadically for Brian- for in the actual sense when a bride tossed her flower whosoever that picked the flower was probably the next to get wedded.

Mike lifted Ella powerfully, swirled this way and that way and headed straight to his Rolls Royce limousine.

Brian raised a brow - for he expected them to spend some time around and get acquainted with guests before leaving the arena.

“Hi,” a petite girl who appeared beside Brian said, “Ella said I should get Khally,.“ Brian locked eyes with Ella who had been staring at him through the window. “She leaves you with this note,” the petite girl added, squeezed the note into Brian’s palms, collected Khally from him and walked away.

Hastily Brian tucked out of preying eyes and unfolded the written note which read;

For standing by me and Khally, I owe you my body forever- Ella.

Brian squeezed the written note and caught Ella’s stare as the limousine drove away. He wished he could tell her it was too late and his heart was already beating for Kate. The bond holding him to Kate was greater than any force of gravity. If only Kate was not in the picture, if only he hadn’t seen Kate before relocating to Miami if only true love could be polygamous enough and accommodate more women in his life, he would have loved to add Ella to his list of affection. He couldn’t deny that he loved Ella so much even when he pretended and took her as his sister. He wished she would understand and stick to her husband - he wished to tell her many more things that only time would tell.

“I owe you my body forever.” Like the bell that often rang at school those words kept ringing in his head.
