The nurse was in haste to depart after purchasing the champagne so when Teddy wanted to get more facts from her she gave him the cold shoulders and disappeared.
That must be your wife. But the nurse said the husband to the woman demanded for champagne that means it is not your wife or are you expecting twin babies?” the bartender guessed.
Teddy wasn’t even giving him attention; rather he was beclouded with thought of what the nurse just said. The nurse’s words kept resounding in his head like an alarm clock at dawn.
The woman that just got into the theater has put to bed a set of beautiful twins.
He kept staring agape, holding his head and smiling sheepishly. This was a change of narrative for him. Finally it wasn’t just a baby but a set of twins. If actually the description that the nurse gave was exact and true then the woman that just got into the theatre was Mrs. Fanny.
On a contrary thought the scan showed it was just a baby boy
So how come twins? Or was there a mistake or what?
Or could it be another woman that the nurse was referring to and not Mrs. Fanny?
A lot of questions fussed up in his mind that he barely gave attention to what the bartender was saying or asking at the time. He would have to hasten to the hospital. Yes. He would find his way to the theatre and see the condition of the woman who was pregnant for him and he would have to spring to action and not relent. Besides, it had been more than two hours she got into the theatre , the rhythmic cry of a baby was suppose to fill the atmosphere now, and unavoidable jubilation should be banging across the hospital already.

Back in the hospital Ken had exhausted all the excitement in his loins even he had lost his voice. Earlier, some minutes ago , he had heard the cry of a baby and he guessed it to be the cry of the baby being delivered by his wife,. While pacing up and down the corridor, he bumped into the nurse that just came out of the theatre. Before he could ask any question the nurse had said,
“Congratulations , Mr. Ken, your wife just put to bed a bouncing baby boy, “ the nurse said and while watching at Ken as he jubilated and punched into the air, another nurse sprang out from the labor room, calling on the attention of the nurse who just came out to give the news.
“Nurse you are needed. We are expecting another baby boy from the same woman!” the other nurse said and about returning to the hospital Ken had called on her attention.
“Hold on! Hold on! Please!” he made quickly to the nurse almost panting and catching up with his breath that was already beclouded with excitement, “Please what did you just say?” he asked , with a trembling uncourted voice that struggled to scream out.
“Yes you heard me right. Are you the husband?” the nurse asked officially now, with an impatient brow furrowing through since she was still busy in the labor room, so she couldn’t wait to answer Ken and return to her duty.
Ken shook his head sporadically, since he had lost his voice to excitement.
The nurse grinned, “Ok it is confirmed that your wife just put to bed a set of twin baby boys, we thought it was just a single baby, but few minutes later another baby pushed through. You are just the proud father of twin baby boys,” the nurse said and left Ken disturbing the entire hospital with his excitement.
“Oh my God! Oh my goose! This is history. I am a father of twins! Someone should wake me up! Am I dreaming? twins! I was expecting a single baby but no it is twins now!”
Ken was not only excited, he disturbed the peace at the hospital with his riotous voice that echoed across the ward. He made a contagious excitement that courted attention and, patients that came by paused either to congratulate him or get entertained by him. His joy knew no bounds and he didn’t know when he dropped on the floor letting out tears of joy…

Teddy had gotten back into his Lamborghini and cruised back to the hospital. While he contemplated partly whether Mrs. Fanny had put to bed of set of twins or not, he thought about ways of accessing the hospital especially the theater without being seen by anyone, so that he could confirm it himself that she put to bed of twins and not single baby. Time was running out, as he glared at his watch. His joy was not yet full until the confirmation. Right now his joy was standing on a toe and if he didn’t act fast, he may lose fact about Mrs. Fanny whom he didn’t trust so much; she could elope with the baby and that would be his end.
Suddenly he caught sight of a pretty nurse dashing out of the hospital and advancing towards where he parked.
Quickly he alighted and called on her, “Excuse me, my nurse,” Once she gazed at him and raised a brow he asked , “Please how do I gain access into the labor room. My wife just to put to bed I must see her right away.” He kept a huge smile.
“Oh are you talking about the woman that just to put to bed set of twins?” the nurse asked coldly.
Not sure what to answer he shook his head and quietened anyways.
“You just go inside and the nurses will guide you…” the nurse said
And about walking away, he demanded. “No, no, I mean is your labor room upstairs or downstairs?” he asked.
“Downstairs, backyard. Good bye!” the nurse said impatiently and walked away.
Teddy smiled, lurked wall to wall until he got to the backyard region of the hospital…
