~Tony and his hostile boys~
The days ahead were full of loneliness and boredom for Eva since she broke up with Kate. Although they had ran into each other at a time and winked and waved at each other, yet the center between them couldn’t hold and would never hold. Kate, being the kind-hearted, soft-loving , ever-forgiving fellow was ready to go on her knees and ask Eva for forgiveness ; she knew she was at fault and had no justification for such secrecy.
She had tried severally to earn Eva’s forgiveness but the latter always walked her out or gave her the cold shoulders. She was much infuriated because the boy involved here was her enemy; somebody she despised so much that the mention of his name often made her throw up. She had never hated somebody as such; his ego and supremacy often made her hiss whenever she set her eyes upon him and she wished he passed on from his coma.
Everyday Eva expected Tony to plan an attack on her or her mother. She knew it was going to be war, if Tony had discovered her mother was engaged to Doctor Frank, about to be married. Severally she had stood at her window pane and watched her mother and Tony meet in his car, most times in her car, where they discussed at length and then Tony would alight from the car and walk away angrily, with fingers pointing at her mother. He was always in black hoody and black pant and sneakers. He only could recognize him through his oval, white face. Most time when they met and she was unavailable to peep at them, her mother often return home in tears, and she suspected Tony touched her or had sex with her. But her mother had always answered in the negative rather her explanation for shedding tears was Tony’s demand which she never believed she would be able to do now or in the afterlife.
“He demand that I denounce Frank’s marriage proposal and make myself available so he , Tony can propose to me,” Mary had said to Eva , while in tears.
“How could he demand such? Is he crazy in the ass? I knew he was going to make impossible demand,” Eva had quarreled and patted her mother on the shoulder, “You have to be strong mom,” she had nursed Mary, “This is our trying moment. If only Kate had revealed it to me on time, I would have stopped Tony and kept him away from you. But Kate has finally proven to be an ass and I will never forgive her for putting you in such mess; such avoidable mess. Hence forth our lines will never meet, and only quarrels and fight would bring us together. I hate you Kate. I hate you,” she sneered and broke down in tears only to be consoled by her mother who couldn’t console herself.
On a special day Mary had gone on shopping spree with Doctor Frank for their weeding , when Eva heard the rustling sound of engine outside . Before she could make to the window to have a look outside, Tony and two other hostile-looking boys were resting on the Cadillac outside, and staring at their house.
Disaster!
“Oh my goose!” Eva exclaimed, swallowed hard and felt something bad was going to happen to her
The boys were really hostile in looks; one tied a red bandana across his dreadlocks hair while the other had a thick moustache and skin-cut with tattoo on almost all part of his face. Tony had his usual black hoody, black pant and sneakers. There was no sign of smile on their faces and didn’t even look like people that would ever smile till the end of time.
As they stared at their house, Tony pointed at the building and said what she perceived to be things related to her mother and herself if possible. Right now she believed it wasn’t business as usual and Tony was out to cause mayhem if he was not stopped now. An idea to call the police hit her in the head and she rebuked it because it would only worsen the situation – getting police involved would implicate her mother and may cost her the marriage she yearned for. And Doctor Frank would forever be hurt.
Just then they started advancing to their house ; about to enter the sitting room. And it dawned on her that the door to the sitting room wasn’t locked. Obviously it was going to be an express entry for them. She trembled greatly and wanted to escape through the window. Quickly she made to her door and locked it up so that she could have the comfort to think. She paced up and down the room, stroking her hair confusedly and tried to fathom out her next line of action.
What was his reason for visiting?
It could be to hurt her mother or even her
It could be to harass either of them. Tony was a bad boy whose name courted ruin. She wondered what blindfolded her mother not to notice the bad boy in him before agreeing to have a thing with him.
She could overhear the doors downstairs creaking and she perceived they had entered the sitting room now. She would have to phone her mother, whom she believed could calm him down and quell him like she often did whenever they met in a car at night…

With their hands clenched together, Mary and Doctor Frank had a wonderful time shopping for their wedding which would be in four days time. As soon as they were done at the grocery they drove straight to the fashion house where they would make choice of their wedding gown and suit accessories they would wear on that day, Doctor Frank waited at the reception while Mary changed into the wedding gown and cat-walked for his viewing . The same was for Doctor Frank. He changed into his suit and walked out to present it before Mary who nodded her approval before they made payments for them.
They had gone out for lunch at a Spanish restaurant a few poles from the fashion home when Mary got a call from Eva.
“What is it baby?” Frank asked, noticing the frown on her face.
“I got to get home there is an emergency,” Mary said and left hastily.
“Hold on, sweetie, hold on,” Doctor Frank called on her…
