Chapter 202: Chapter 202
Chapter 202
~Mystery in his silence~
At the time Teddy stood up, all eyes came on him. Mrs. Fanny widened her gaze at him, swallowed hard, her hands fidgeted and her entire body trembled as one brought close to a burning furnace.
Ken raised a brow, wondering if he had ever seen this fellow, with scraggly beards and bizarre look. He watched closely, gaped at Teddy, having itches of suspicion and anxiety all over his body. He had a lot pacing through his mind now.
Who the hell is this man?
What does he want?
The priest winked his eyes, waiting patiently for what was about to happen.
Mrs. Fanny was winking and giving Teddy eye-contact not to do anything stupid. She had died a million times in her mind, almost breaking down in tears, and regretting to end it this way with Ken in public and in shame. Everywhere quietened abruptly as the crowd watched on.
The action was about taking place; when Teddy had stood up , he smacked his lips, rubbed his palms, gave Mrs. Fanny a warning stare, left his pew and knocked away in his black sheen oxford without looking back. The crowd stared him out until he disappeared before a babel of murmuring ensued.
Mrs. Fanny let a breath of relief, placed her hand on her baby bump, shot a stare at Kate and Eva before returning her gaze on her husband, whose stare was no longer on Kate and Eva but on Jacy whom he thought was going to rise and halt their wedding when the priest made that comment. Regardless he still kept gazing upon jacy, and they locked eyes briefly. Ken wondered what could be making Jacy blush; he tried as much as possible to warn her with his eyes which dimmed and rolled at her.
The priest gestured at Ken and Mrs. Fanny to look at each other as he continued, “Ladies and gentle men,” he said to the murmuring crowd, “Shall we keep quiet and continue with the exchange of vows?” he said, and just then the crowd quietetened , “Since there is none amongst the crowed that is against this union, we will proceed,”
The priest acknowledge that the couple had declared their consent to be married, prayed for God’s blessing on Ken and Mrs. Fanny and then said, “What God joins together let no man put asunder.”
Next was the exchange of ring: the priest gave Ken the ring to put it closer to the ring finger of Mrs. Fanny and then held out a book from where he read.
“Sandra fanny, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy spirit.”
And the crowd echoed “Amen!”
Ken sank the ring into her finger
When it was time for Mrs. Fanny to put the ring on ken’s finger her attention was caught by a figure outside; and it was no other person than Teddy who was resting on his Austin Martin car, arms folded with a bouquet of flowers, shooting his stare at her
No other person noticed what was happening except Kate who traced her stare to that of Teddy.
“Have you noticed something?” Kate whispered to Eva, who glared at her to wonder what she was talking about. Kate nudged Eva to trace Mrs. Fanny’s stare to Teddy who was outside.
“Yeah, yeah. Is that not the same man that stood up some minutes ago and walked away?” Eva whispered.
“Yes, you got it. I think both of them have something in common. For now I can’t really tell.
“Yes we can’t. Only time will tell,” whispered Eva.
Just then Teddy hopped into his car and shot the door, and Kate noticed Mrs. Fanny’s stare snap, and focused on ken once again.
The priest gave Mrs. Fanny a ring to put on the ring finger of Ken as she said, “Lake Ken receive this ring as sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy spirit,” she said and slid in the ring.
The priest said gently, “You may kiss the bride.”
Slowly their faces pull together. With impatient lips moving to be engulfed in a passionate engaging kiss. Their lips met and sucked into each other before the guests started off a riotous clap and murmuring.
Jacy didn’t clap, as well as Kate and Eva. Meanwhile Jacy had been on the lookout for blueeyes wondering where he would be if he wasn’t at the cathedral.
Ken and Mrs. fanny were done kissing and now hugging as the guests kept clapping with a standing ovation.
I know this marriage won’t last,” said Kate, looking at Eva.
Eva asked “why did you say so? She kept staring outside, observing that Teddy was yet to come out from his car after he hopped in.
“Because I know my mother very well and I can tell you she is cheating on him.”
“Oh yeah, but I was thinking that of the man, ken. He has every trait of a cheat,” said Eva, “He is too cute to stick to a woman.”
“I believe she has something with that man in his car outside and with time I am going to prove it,” Kate said and watched on as Ken and Mrs. Fanny had stopped kissing.
Ken spoke into the microphone, “ I am inviting everyone to a warm reception at my mansion and I promise you a nice time over there,” he said looked at Mrs. Fanny, who tossed away the bouquet of flower in her hand.
And Jacy was shocked when the flower landed on her laps, and everyone clapped for Jacy. She only could force out a smile yet much irritated to touch the flower.
Ken noticed the anger that paced through Jacy’s face as they locked eyes briefly, yet he never cared. Suddenly he lifted Mrs. Fanny in his hand and walked away.
Teddy came out of his car and shot an evil eye at them…
Something was about to happen…
