Chapter 180: Chapter 180
Chapter 180
~From twenty four hours to five days~
After five days it dawned on Mary, Eva’s mother that she handcuffed Tony to the edge of the bed.
“oh my God!” she exclaimed so sporadically loud that she believed Eva was possibly on her way up the staircase to check on her. She covered her mouth with her hands and kept exclaiming, “Geez! Oh my goose! Oh my goose!” she exclaimed yet again pacing up and down her bedroom, and searching for her car keys, all over the corners. She searched for it confusedly and lost concentration abruptly.
The door creaked and it was Eva walking into her bedroom, with her frown shooting at her mother.
“I heard you scream, mom” she said and paused at the door, trying to predict the looks on her face, “What could be the problem, mom? Is anything the matter? Did anything rattle your cage?” she hounded her with countless questions.
Mary turned her crimson face at her and forced a smile to pacify her, “Oh dear, it is nothing of interest. I just saw a scary video on my phone,” she lied and supported it with a chuckle before saying yet further, “It scared me so much that I had to yell.” She chortled yet further.
Eva breathed hard and rolled her eyes at her, “You scared the big apple out of me. I thought you were in a box of trouble.” She smiled, “Talking about the video, I love scary videos a lot. Is it vampires or werewolf?” she asked and advanced to her phone.
But Mary was fast enough to grab it before her, “Not yet, girl” she said through smiles. She knew she had no video on her phone to support her lies. “I really need to go somewhere right away. Once I am back I will give you the video and then you can see it yourself,” she said, and started walking away.
“Come on, mom, I will be bored while you are away,” she cried.
She halted at the door, and widened her gaze at her, “Drop it, girl. You can see movies on cable, play games and what have you. I will be back! Bye!
The door banged.
Eva smiled gratefully. Pulled out her phone from her pocket and dialed Kate.
“Hello, baby,” she said once Kate picked the call from the other end, “coast clear. You can bring your ass over now” she said, hung up and put the phone on her chest in passionate appreciation.

Oh my God, please Tony had better be fine!” Mary wailed while speeding to Tony’s house. She hit on the steering angrily and gnashed her teeth in pain. “Oh what came over me? What the hell could make me forget him?” she wailed on, and stroked her hair with the other hand while the other hand navigated the car through traffic and oncoming vehicles that tried to drive in her way. “What the fuck!” she cursed, “Get out of my way, you damn car!” she cursed, “I am going to hit you and go my way, and you will do nothing.” She quarreled and was brought to a halt by a truck that stopped in her way when the traffic signaled.
“Shit! What the hell is this truck trying to do!” she hit on the steering, pressed on her horn and glared outside the window to see the cars were already piling and she would need patience to survive it.
When she finally arrived at Tony’s house, she was struck with the crowd of police men and ambulance personnel that hovered all over.
“Oh my God, I said it!” she intoned, and gently drove to a spot from where she stared at the happening outside.
A group of ambulance personnel just came out of the house with a body that was carried in a stretcher. Almost advancing into the van, Mary alighted from her car and hastened to them.
“Oh what really happened to Tony?” she asked and unveiled the white cloth that was used to cover his body.
“Do you know him?” asked one of the personnel.
“I…I” she stuttered, “I am just a concerned neighbor,” Mary lied, and unlocked her stare from the personnel in order not to show she was hiding something.
“We got a call from one of his cronies who visited him today and found him naked, with his wrists and ankles handcuffed to the edge of the bed, worst still he was dying from starvation and thirst.”
Mary stared in the space thoughtfully in flash back.
FLASH BACK TO CHAPTER 179
… She appeared at his side, handcuffed his wrist and ankles to the edge of the bed and left him helpless.
“Staying handcuffed to the edge of the bed for twenty four hours is part of my terms and conditions.”
Tony yelled, “What do you mean? What are you up to?”
“Shhh,” she peered to him, “This is the time you prove your love for me. You will remain like this for the next twenty four hours. No screaming. No wailing. After this I will know whether you truly love me or not…”

She shook her head and blinked furiously to come off the flashback.
“So is he going to survive it?” Mary asked the personnel, yet staring at Tony whose eyes were swollen, face dark and bleached black and body sweating profusely as though he just came out of a pool. She dimmed her eyes and tried to register in her mind pictures of the horror and pain Tony passed through when she wasn’t forth coming after twenty four hours.
The other personnel answered her hastily, “For now it is a fifty-fifty survival thing. For someone to be handcuffed to the edge of the bed, immoveable for God-knows-when is grossly absurd. I wonder what sex adventure he was exploring with his lover.”
“His survival is not certain now until we get to the clinic. We may have to go now, ma’am,” the other personnel obliged.
Mary stared gaping as they conveyed his body into the van and zoomed off. She paced into her car, covered her face with her trembling hands and wailed bitterly.
“I am sorry, Tony! I am sorry! I …I never meant to abandon you for five days…” she wailed like a baby and lost interest in returning home.
Something heartbreaking was about happening…
