Chapter 90: Chapter 90

Pamela remained there with her father until midnight. Louis eventually took her home. Louis insisted that Pamela come over to his Mansion because he couldn't let her remain alone.

Emma was taken back to prison and Freya was accompanied by Greg back home. That night, Pamela looked weak and vulnerable.

She told Louis she was really sorry about the way she treated her father especially, when she took his most precious asset, the house from him.

She didn't get to make it up to him. Thanks to Lucas who took her to see him when he was in the hospital. That was the last time she saw him.

He treated her better than Freya and Emma. She heard a number of times he argued with Freya over exposing a certain secret. A secret she later knew to be that she was adopted.

When Lucas told her why he supported the arranged marriage back then, when he(Louis) was in a coma, she let go her grudges against him.

"In your quest for revenge Pamela, you went overboard. To me, and to your own family. That was too much to people who once gave you a roof over your head.

I was in your office, the day you broke his heart and said those words to him. If you want to ease yourself of the guilt, do the needful" Louis advised.

"Go and freshen up, I will order a night dress for you" Louis advised. Pamela stood up from the cushion and headed towards the guest room.

She was in the same Mansion a few years ago. She shared the master bedroom with dying Louis and talked to him every day that he would come out of coma and be with her.

But when he did, his regain of consciousness was the beginning of her humiliation. And it started when she was demoted from his bedroom to the guest room. She looked round the house and admired its beauty.

Her Mansion might be as big as this with great architectural design, but that uniqueness with Louis Mansion cannot be mistaken.

"That's not the way to the bedroom. You can't possibly have forgotten your way, right?" Louis declared.

"You sent me out of your bedroom back then, right? You need to ask me to go back in there" Pamela snapped at him.

"Okay" Louis Hayden said and lifted her off her feet, slung her over his shoulders and took the stairs to his bedroom.

He unlocked the door and got in, and gently placed her on her feet, holding her by her waist, he apologised "I'm sorry I did that. We will share this bedroom together, henceforth" he promised.

Pamela smiled and nodded, caressing his bearded jaw. She turned and looked at the room, it was different from the way it used to be.

Same room but different settings. The position of the bed had been changed. The size of the bed was two times the one she had known.

Only the closet remained where it was. She admired the window blinds, the floor and exquisite king sized bed. It's awesome that she returned to the same room again.

"I wanted to move into another room, in fact move into another house. But I was waiting for the day I will bring you here, my love. And let you know this room will still always be where you can come in and go out, never to be questioned again…"Louis explained, his voice like a whisper.

Pamela smiled. She glanced into his eyes, as sincere and clear as a crystal. She gently placed her head on his chest and circled her hand around him.

"Take a bath, it's midnight," Louis Hayden advised. Pamela nodded and pulled away from Louis. The latter got into his closet and offered her a new towel that he's never used.

"Your night dress will arrive soon" Louis informed and kissed her temple briefly. Pamela lingered until Louis walked out before she undressed herself and dashed off into the bathroom.

Louis went to the kids room to check on them. Their nannies went to fetch them from the Hayden's Mansion home that evening. They were sleeping soundly and he planted a featherlight kiss on their temples before covering them with a quilt properly and then left.

He got Pamela's night dress and returned to the bedroom. Pamela was already out and drying her hair. She turned her back to him as she got busy drying her hair. Louis stood behind for a few seconds, admiring her.

Was he alright to have divorced her back then? His decision was irrational and the divorce was baseless. One thing was certain, he probably wasn't in his right senses when he did that.

Pamela coughed slightly. Louis was staring at her body dotingly that he didn't care that she had turned herself to stare at him.

Louis smiled and raised his gaze to glance at her face. Their eyes met and Pamela smiled. He placed the night dress in the closet and came over, helping her to dry her hair faster.

"I'm happy that you look alright now. By tomorrow, you'll have overcome the emotional feeling of losing your father. You'll have to take care of yourself, okay" Louis Hayden declared.

"Thank you, Louis, for being by my side" Pamela appreciated. He has dried her hair now and she wants to put on her night wear. Louis turned her to face him and hugged her waist.

Her shoulders and arms are bare, only the towel around her chest was there. Louis glanced at her beautiful skin, it was attractive and Feminine. The smell of lavender seemed to fill the entire room.

"I will be travelling to Europe tomorrow. Promise me you'll be fine. You will also try to get closer to mum. Dad is in support of us being together but I can't say the same about mum. I will talk to her as well, that I love you" Louis Hayden chimed.

Pamela nodded, her hands on Louis' shoulders. She's unhappy that Louis was travelling the next day. She doesn't want to leave his side for a minute.

"When will you be back?" Pamela asked and Louis said two weeks. Pamela's face looked gloomy and simply nodded. Louis saw her looks and gave a smile. She is not happy that he will be away for two weeks.

"Next time, we'll travel together, okay?. Now get dressed, I'll join you in bed soon" Louis declared and let her go.

Thirty minutes later, Louis had taken a bath and dressed in pyjamas. It's nice sharing the same bed with Pamela. He climbed in from the other end of the bed and slipped under the quilt on the other end.

Thinking she was asleep, he put off the bedside lamp and pulled Pamela closer, gently planting a light kiss on her temple and closed his eyes when Pamela snuggled closer to him and whispered his name "Louis"
