After Lucas explained to Louis, there was a few minutes of silence. Both men stared at each with different thoughts running through their mind.

Louis felt sorry for Lucas. He guessed right, when he concluded that the latter has feelings for his girlfriend. His eyes were affectionate when he stared at Pamela.

But his love was one sided. He loves her but she loves someone else, him. He could understand to some extent what Lucas was going through. He once experienced a one sided love for some time.

"Did she know you are still in love with her?" Louis asked and Lucas answered almost immediately "She doesn't. She only feels we are good friends. If she does, she would avoid me and never wants to see or meet me"

"Sorry, but can I ask you a last question?" Louis requested. This question wouldn't let him be at ease until he gets his answers. He wants to know the extent they've gone with each other before.

"Sure. I will answer all your questions to the best of my knowledge" Lucas replied. He can't help but be sincere with Louis. He just wants him to be the best man any woman would ever desire, Pamela's man.

"Have you guys gone intimate, l mean to say, have you both had sex before?" Louis asked, gazing straight into Lucas' eyes. He likes to look straight at someone's eyes when asking a straight and possibly difficult question.

Lucas chuckled aloud and shook his head "No. We never had sex, though back then I wanted it but she wouldn't agree to my advances. Our intimacy didn't go beyond kissing and cuddling.

Pamela is pure, Louis. She is a clean decent woman. I don't know how you got the heart to divorce her"

Louis squinted. Exactly as he got the mind to cheat and betrayed her. They both were probably stupid in the past but he was fortunate to get her back.

Besides, Did Lucas know the circumstances surrounding their divorce? He remembered now, when Pamela disappeared and his mom almost skinned him alive because of it. She said something about having a pure decent woman to agree to surrogacy.

"Thank you Lucas. And please, Pamela must not know we ever talked" Louis requested and Lucas said "I want you to do something for me, Louis.

Make Pamela happy. She deserved it. Don't hurt her again otherwise, I will never forgive you and I will take her from you for real" Lucas declared, his eyes stern as if he was warning him

"I won't dare. I love her and I won't let you take her from me" Louis responded. He's gotten her back now, and no man will ever take her away from him, not Lucas, not anyone else.

Lucas nodded and soon, the two men said goodnight to each other. Lucas sighed and shook his head. Not everything one desires that he gets in this life and one of such situations in his life is wanting Pamela but losing her to someone else.

He seemed to have symptoms of a cold. He got off his bed and went to take some pills of vitamins and gulped it down, he would get relieved the next morning.

The next morning, Pamela got out of bed early. She was resuming back to her office that morning. She needed to get ready on time.

She took a bath and dressed up. Just then, Louis called. She was sitting before the vanity mirror and she answered the phone "Good morning, love" she said, beaming with a smile.

This is a dream come true. She looked forward to the day she would say those words to him, on his bed. When they would wake up in each other's arms and start the day with a good morning kiss.

"Good morning my love" Louis replied. He smiled back at her. He was dressed and Pamela guessed he was having breakfast already.

"Ready for work?" Pamela asked and Louis said yes. He was going to have breakfast now and dashed out. He said he missed her already.

"I missed you too, love. You'll get to see me today and everyday henceforth" she teased.

"Sure. Everyday and soon the first person to see in the morning and the last before dozing off at night" Louis said and winked an eye at her seductively.

Pamela blushed.

"Does that mean you are blushing" Louis teased and Pamela giggled covering her face with her palm.

"See you soon at the annex company. I love you very much" Louis concluded and Pamela said she loves him too.

Pamela came downstairs and grabbed a few bites of breakfast and got into her car. No, Lucas' car. Lucas had said he would wait for her at her company and exchange cars with her.

She drove towards the annex company. That used to be her company before. She was away for a few months and now, she's returning to take back her position.

She was so excited. Louis Hayden is the best. She's glad he belongs to her now. She cannot imagine how she won his heart over Miranda Alvan.

She won't let him slip off her fingers anymore. Louis is the man her heart yearns and beats for. Only him and their kids are the most important thing in her life now.

She drove into the vast premises of the annex company and saw Lucas was waiting with her bugatti Sion. She stepped out of his BMW and didn't notice the car next to the bugatti Sion.

She and Lucas hugged each other and exchanged car keys. Lucas looked her up and down and said she's pretty and looked like a great business woman.

He bent over and kissed her chin. Pamela blushed and said goodbye to him. As Lucas got into his car and drove off, Pamela turned and glanced at the retreating back view of his car.

Lucas was weird that morning. He behaved as if he was in love with her. She remembered that was how he usually kissed her back then and made her desire to have him around her.

She subconsciously touched her chin where Lucas kissed her and smiled. Anyways, she needed to be in the company already. She glanced at her wristwatch and realised she had five minutes more before the board meeting started.

She put on her shade and walked towards the grand floor where the elevator was located. She knows every corner and entrance of the company. She doesn't need anyone to guide her around.

"Dr, Pamela!" The securities called almost the same time when they saw her. The boss is back, is she really back?

Pamela waved at them with a broad smile. She told them she will talk to them later and continued in her steps towards the elevator.

A certain person was watching from his car. He was jealous already that Pamela let Lucas kiss her chin and her reaction during and after he left.

Pamela arrived at the president's floor and her secretaries threw caution to the air. They went to her and hugged her. Some hugging her from behind and others from the front of her.

Pamela was smiling, telling them she would talk to them soon. She needs to be in a meeting with others and the CEO. When she said CEO, everyone understood that she was referring to President Hayden.

She accesses the door with her fingerprints. She was surprised that it was still intact. She merely tried it and it worked. Louis Hayden was right, he had always wanted her to preside over the company hence he left her office intact.

She kept her bag and walked out, her secretary following her with a few files at hand. Pamela arrived at the conference room and everyone stood up for her.

She walked over to the seat next to the CEOs seat and stood. "Welcome back, Dr Pamela" everyone welcomed her and she smiled quickly and waved to them to sit down.

Next, a tall handsome figure walked in and again everyone stood up. The entire room was quiet,none said anything but besides a quick brief glance at the CEO,no one raised their head.

His presence suddenly created an aura that even Pamela couldn't explain. The atmosphere became compressed and the air became tense with a domineering feeling.

"Sit" he commanded, taking a seat first. He glanced briefly at everyone present and asked "anyone else not here?" He asked and they all looked around.

The company PRO declared "Everyone is here, sir". Louis nodded and glanced sideways, his bodyguard placed a file in Front of him.

"In that case, we can begin the purpose of this meeting" he glanced around again and his eyes rested on Pamela sitting next to him.

"Welcome back from your leave, Dr Pamela. We are glad to have you back" Louis Hayden declared with a poker face.

Pamela glanced at him briefly, her facial expressions devoid of any form of familiarity. "Thank you, CEO Hayden"

Louis Hayden nodded and declared "my primary reason for summoning this meeting is to welcome Dr Pamela Johnson to her office. And I do hope that you don't forget that she's the final authority in this company.

I may be the CEO, but I will never interfere with her decisions, whatever they may be. She gives the final verdict and I am just a spectator here. Nothing changes about the power and office.

Make this clear to the entire staff, partners and shareholders. Whoever disrespect her, will have me to contend with"

The atmosphere became cold. Why so much power given to Pamela Johnson? The company doesn't belong to her and her family anymore. They had thought she resigned and left, but were surprised she's back.

Now, the CEO was practically handing over the company back to her. They glanced at each other and then Pamela. She remained expressionless.

"Is there any question?" Louis asked, glancing at everyone present. He saw the look of puzzle on their faces and knew there were a lot of questions in their hearts as to why he took Pamela Johnson so high.

No one raised a finger or indicated that he or she had a question. Then suddenly Louis Hayden declared "the meeting is over. You all can leave except Dr Pamela Johnson"

Within three minutes, the conference room was empty except for the two of them. Louis Hayden glanced at Pamela expressionlessly and said "Tonight by 7pm, we have a date" he declared and stood up.

Pamela was not comfortable with his sudden quietness. "Anything the matter, Louis?" Pamela asked.

"CEO Hayden" Louis corrected. This is an official time and not a period of romance and lovers date.

"I'm sorry, CEO Hayden" Pamela apologised. Before she could ask him what was wrong, he was already out of the door.

Something is off. She can't lay her fingers on it. Louis Hayden is suddenly reserved. She would wait till they met later in the day.

She must know what is wrong with him.
