Chapter 83: Chapter 83
He knew she could never belong to him anymore, but the sudden realisation of it hurts him. He had urged Pamela to get back with Louis and now, he feels pain to lose her.
He suddenly felt tired and discovered he had a migraine. Why was he feeling uncomfortable to be in the Hayden's Mansion now?
He was feeling hurt but couldn't help staring at Pamela and Louis, holding each other romantically. They've been married before, now that they want to give each other a second chance, their bonding will be far stronger than before.
That feeling of loving a woman and you saw her slip off your fingers onto the hands of another man and you stood helpless, unable to do anything about it.
His temperature suddenly rose. He couldn't help his aching heart as he saw how Louis was happy with Pamela. It would have been him.
He would have been the one, holding hands with Pamela, happy and smiling broadly. He would have been the one she would have cherished and poured her entire affection on as her husband.
She really was so loving towards him in the past, when she would hug him and caressed his hair, kissing his lips and neck. He really experiences how sweet and romantic Pamela can be when she's in love.
But he was never going to experience it again. She's given her heart to someone else who truly deserves it. He would have left already but couldn't since he came with Pamela in the same car.
Soon, the guests all left and the kids' nanny had taken them into their bedroom to bathe and rest. Pamela and Louis decided to see them briefly.
They giggled and hugged their parents. The excitement on them was so evident, seeing both of their parents together. Only Dora who had slept off wasn't there.
"Mummy, come over and live with us and daddy" Damian requested, climbing over to his mother's thighs. Pamela sat on the sofa but Louis remained standing with his hands in his pants pocket and stared at them.
"Eehhh..well, Damian.."Pamela glanced at Louis and the latter locked eyes with her, his facial expression calm. "Why don't you ask your dad if I can come?" Pamela replied.
She didn't dare to look up at Louis at that moment. She really wants to live with her kids and Louis. But she cannot if he doesn't allow her to come over.
"Daddy, will you let mummy come and live with us?" Damian asked, coming off his mother's thighs and going over to his dad.
Louis bent and lifted his son, placing his head on his shoulder "Sure. I love your mum and I too want her to live with us" he replied.
"Hurray, mummy is coming to live with us…"David chimed and started jumping on his bed.
"I love my mummy just as I love my Daddy.." Daniel had turned it into a song and started dancing.
Pamela's eyes were teary and she glanced at Louis, the latter beamed with a smile. She smiled at him and glanced at her boys, she went over to them and kissed them one after the other.
"We love you cuties, your dad and I love you kids, very much. I hope to move in with you kids into your daddy's Mansion, soon" Pamela declared and glanced at Louis. The latter nodded and smiled.
This is how perfect and sweet their lives would be. He, Pamela and their lovely children, they will be happy together and hope they remain so, forever.
Soon, their nanny said they needed to sleep now. She held a story book and the parents said goodnight. Pamela was impressed how the kids were obedient and said goodnight to their parents too.
As they left the room, Louis hugged Pamela outside the door and asked "This is how happy we would have been a long time ago. But you were busy torturing me" he teased and kissed her lips.
They came downstairs and were told sir and ma'am had retired to their bedroom. Louis said okay and walked out with Pamela.
Pamela was shocked when she saw Lucas waiting by the car. Oh no! She completely forgot that he would be waiting for her.
How can she be so unfair to forget about a full grown man? She was happy and excited with her new relationship with Louis Hayden that she abandoned Lucas.
She took her hand away from Louis' grip and walked towards him. "Lucas" she called and saw him carefully turn to face them.
He smiled at Pamela and looked past Pamela to Louis standing behind her. His eyes were red and he looked gloomy, but he put on a facial expression to cover up his depressed mood.
Pamela saw him and knew something had gone wrong. Was he probably unhappy that she abandoned him for the rest of the party, despite the fact that she invited him and it's her children's birthday?.
"I'm sorry, Lucas for keeping you waiting" Pamela came over and forced a hug on him. Lucas closed his eyes briefly to hold back his emotions. He caressed her back and said "No, common. I know you have to see the kids before leaving"
Louis saw the latter's facial expression and guessed immediately, it was not easy for him to accept the reality of the fact that Pamela loved and chose someone else over him.
The man looked depressed and felt sorry for him. They both are her ex's. But she's getting back with him instead. But he can see it in his eyes that he still loves Pamela.
But he also loves her. They have kids together and she fell in love with him. Lucas himself told him that Pamela loves him. There's nothing he can do to help him.
The two men locked eyes and Louis stared at Lucas with a poker face. The latter was expressionless. His eyes became more reddened and Louis made a sign with his hand that he would call him.
Lucas nodded and pulled away from hugging Pamela. "Are we leaving now or…" Lucas trailed off. Seeing Louis standing, he knew he might want to take Pamela home.
"No, we will go together, right my love?" Louis answered firmly as if he had discussed that with Pamela before.
Lucas nodded and forced a smile. Pamela knew something was off about Lucas that evening and the only thing she could conclude on was he felt lonely and abandoned.
"Yes, love" Pamela affirmed Louis' words and held Lucas' hands and gaze at him intently "We have a lot to talk about. And please, cheer up. I'm really sorry that I got carried away with the guests and didn't return to keep you company.."
Lucas nodded. He didn't say a word. If he did, he would blow up his Pretense. Busy with Louis dear, not the guests, Lucas thought within himself.
"And Lucas, Louis and I are together now" Pamela declared and turned to glance at Louis. The latter smiled and nodded.
"Congratulations Pam. You finally got to be with the man you love. I am really happy for you both" Lucas chimed, kissing her temple.
He hugged Pamela again and this time, Louis came over and pulled Pamela away from the hug. He smiled and held her tight in a side hug.
"We'll be leaving now ,Lucas," Louis announced and smiled at Lucas. This fellow is hurting deep inside of him and he kept hugging Pamela. He's a man and he knows when a man hugs a woman out of friendliness and the one bound by love.
Pamela's hug was purely for friendship but Lucas' hug was done out of a mind containing different feelings and emotions.
Pamela is his woman now and he won't let any man hug her irrationally. After all, they were once lovers and he had lost count of how many times he had seen them together after her return to Oak City.
"Sure" Lucas nodded, intertwining his ten fingers together. He smiled and both parties said goodnight to each other.
Lucas waited and watched the retreating back view of the two lovers. Louis can't stop kissing her hair and holding her so romantically.
A dirty thought crossed his mind. Will Louis be taking Pamela to his Mansion that night and possibly… Oh no, it's not right to think that way about his friend.
He got into the car and drove out of the Hayden's Mansion, leaving the two love birds behind.
