Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Greg sighed softly and went back to his meal. He guessed there's no need for him to say anything to Freya again. Her remorse was written all over her face.
Talking to her now is the same as torturing her more. The only person that made him go emotional was Lucas.
It is hard for a man to wake up one day and discover that the child he has always thought was his own, is not. He might not be able to describe exactly the pain in Lucas' heart and mind, but he felt the pain would be greater than when poked with a needle in the heart.
He wished him happiness and true love in the near future. Lucas is a good guy, he definitely would find love and stay fulfilled.
Freddie glared at Greg and the latter understood that he wanted to know who was at the door. "It was Lucas but he had gone now" Greg said casually.
Freddie nodded with a smile. The name Lucas Wright makes him feel pleased.
The next day, Pamela was excited. She was going to get to see her kids that day. She got things in order and called Lucas if he was free to accompany her to the kids birthday.
The latter was super excited. He said he was more than ready to accompany her. He was happy because his office got the response from the Hayden's cooperation and they accepted their partnership.
Thanks to Pamela. Her presence has greatly influenced it to be successful. His boss was so happy that he treated the entire staff to lunch.
Everyone received a takeout during lunch. And was thinking of thanking Pamela for her involvement in the success of it when she called.
Pamela decided to tell Lucas to come over to her Mansion. She's got some gifts and wants him to accompany her in her car. Lucas agreed and parked his car at Pamela's garage before joining Pamela in her car.
Pamela told him to drive while she sat in the copilot's seat. They were happy and talked like two old friends that they truly are.
The birthday celebration was starting soon and Pamela hadn't arrived. Louis kept glancing at his wristwatch every minute and his eyes couldn't leave the giant gate.
Ellis observed the restlessness in his son and went to him, tapping him gently at his back "if the number of times you glance at the wristwatch and at the gate, is equal to the number of times, a dollar drops in your account, at the end of this birthday party, you would have become a trillionaire.." he teased.
Louis Hayden sighed softly and glanced at the gate again. His father was taking note of his restlessness? He tried to force a smile when his father continued " I know you are looking forward to Pamela's coming.
But beyond that, why are you looking forward to her coming and what makes you feel unhappy that she was staying long? Is it because she has to be here as the kids mother or something else?
You are in love with her, tell me Louis, you love Pamela, right?"Ellis asked but Louis looked away, he didn't answer his father.
"You can tell me anything, as your father and as man to man. You should also remember that I am your father, Louis. And I knew you long before you said your first word.
In those days when I carried you close to my chest and kissed your chubby chin, changed your diapers and woke Leah up to breastfeed you, I have known you since then.
And I can read your actions, your eyes and know what exactly you want back then. And if I do understand you back then, tell me why I will not readily read your actions and body language?
Now tell me in your own words, do you love Pamela, is your heart beating for her and do you feel excited to see or meet her?" Ellis asked, turning and glancing at his son.
He already knows that he's in love. But not with Miranda Alvan. The latter had been around for over an hour and besides saying hi to each other, he hadn't spared her a second glance.
He kept looking at the direction of the gate and his wristwatch. He was waiting for someone special. He looked forward to seeing that person and he could only guess that the special person would be Pamela Johnson.
"Yes, dad. I love Pamela. I have never felt like this for any woman before. She occupies my heart and thoughts and I practically cannot go five minutes without the thoughts of her crossing my mind" Louis explained, folding his arms around his chest.
"She told me she would be coming. I have looked forward to seeing her since I stepped out of my bed this morning. And now, she's staying longer than I thought. I just want to see her" he explained, looking pained and glancing in the same direction again.
"You need to relieve yourself of this uneasiness. Find time today and tell her that you love her, that you can't do without her. Make sure you do so today, okay?
I'm glad you have fallen in love with her. It makes me happy that finally, you are getting this feeling of being in love. And you have my full support, son.
Call her now and ask her why she's staying long" Ellis advised. He is happy that his son is in love with the mother of his kids. That would eventually make them all happy together.
Louis nodded and brought out his phone. He dialled her cell phone number and quickly, it got connected "Pamela," he said and paused.
"Hi dear, I'm on my way, almost at the Hayden's Mansion already" Pamela chimed. Was he missing her already? "Okay dear" Louis answered and hung up.
She used the word dear for him and he did the same. He glanced at his father and smiled. The latter tapped his shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze "I know I don't have a coward for a son. Today, confess your feelings to her" Ellis declared and walked away.
Louis was happy. He would let her know how he felt about her. He smiled and turned to look at his father's retreating view, he had always been his best friend and confidant.
He is a trillion if measured financially but there are some things that he knows nothing about. One of such things is how to profess love to a woman.
"...I can't do it,Lucas. No matter how much I love Louis, I can't tell him that I love him first. He should be the one to make the first move" Pamela objected.
How can he say she should tell him she loves him? That guy is arrogant and she cannot make a fool out of herself by telling him first.
She would sit back and wait for him to say something. If she has to wait for years, she would. And if he decides to go with Miranda, she would give up on him.
"Who trained you so? Who inculcated that false mentality into you and you go about with it? Anyone can profess love first. It doesn't have to be the man, Pamela.
That guy might slip off your fingers. A lot of women are wishing and daydreaming about having him and you are joking around with the possibility of owning him?
This will be a good opportunity for you to get intimate with him. You both will be close to each other because of the kids and you want to blow this opportunity away?" Lucas was dazed.
"Louis Hayden is arrogant and I don't want to.." Pamela was saying when Lucas interrupted her "cut the crap,Pam. He won't disrespect you because of the kids. If he does, he has trampled on his kids pride and self esteem. Just tell him you love him" Lucas urged and Pamela shrugged.
"Okay, I will try," Pamela helplessly answered. Lucas is pushing her to confess her love for Louis, she will try and even if she has to text him a message to do so.
They arrived at the giant gate leading to the mansion and the security guards asked them of their identity and what they wanted. Pamela said she's the mother of the kids celebrating and she is Dr Pamela Johnson and her friend is Lucas Wright.
The securities took their fingerprints and other security checks before letting them in. A flood of relief flowed through Louis' mind when he saw her Bugatti Sion drive into the mansion.
At Pamela's request, Lucas parked the car in the parking lot. Pamela stepped out with her beautiful long lavender coloured gown. The gown was long to her feet, with her back open.
Her hair was styled into a lavender bun and flowers with a lavender coloured were clipped on it. Her jewelleries were made from pure gold and only she has that design of jewelleries.
Her wristwatch was golden, same as her earrings and necklace pendant. Her lips were painted red and her hourglass figure was admiringly seductive.
When Louis saw her, he had the desire to hold her in his arms and kiss her. She's so beautiful and classic. Her figure is sexy and can make anyone eager to own her.
She held her little hand bag made by the best designer in Middletown City. Lucas stepped out of the car and walked over to hold hands with her.
They look good together and Lucas felt tempted to cross his hand around her waist. Such a beauty to behold.
Heads turned in their direction. Louis turned and saw his father giving him a hard stare. He understood, he needs to go over and walk Pamela to the venue.
It will arouse questions if she's walked over by Lucas. She's the celebrants mother and he should be the one holding hands with her, not Lucas.
As they took a few steps towards the venue of the party, Louis walked towards them and he locked eyes with Lucas Wright. His stare was cold and Lucas understood immediately.
Who said Louis is not in love with Pamela? With this cold jealous eyes of his staring at him as if he could get him iced at any moment.
"Welcome my dear" Louis Hayden said, forcing a smile and giving Pamela a slight hug. He then forced a smile to Lucas and offered him a handshake.
Lucas also pretended not to understand his cold stare a while ago and smiled back at him. He took his hands and they exchanged pleasantries.
"Thank you Louis. How has it been going?" She asked as Louis stayed on her side, walking her towards the guest. But he didn't get the chance to introduce her as the kids' mother to his associates before they were invited to dance.
The party was held outside the mansion itself. It's getting dark already and everyone stood with their cocktail. The entire arena was lit up so that it would be difficult to know that it was already getting dark.
The cake was beautifully decorated, all four steps of it in such a way that the tip of the cakes came together to form a pyramid.
Pamela glanced at her kids and was dazed with their stunning outlook:
