Chapter 67: Chapter 67
"I'm so happy sir. Thank you so much sir. I promise to give my best to the organization. My very best and see it gain a new horizon…" Lucas promised.
"I look forward to seeing your promises fulfilled," his boss replied. When Lucas left his boss office, he moved his few personal belongings and went to take over his new office.
That was when Nelly knew Lucas had been promoted. She went to congratulate Lucas and found him dialing a number.
"Congratulations Lucas, on your new office" Nelly said, glancing at him dotingly. "Thank you, Nelly" he appreciated as his call got connected.
He beckoned to Nelly that she could leave while he said "Hello babe" . He said shutting the door and going back to sit on the swivel chair.
"I just got promoted to the level of a general manager.." Lucas chimed. He was happy and excited and the first person he called was Pamela.
"Congratulations buddy...wow...so happy for you...we need to champagne Lucas" Pamela congratulated him.
"Thank you Pamela. Anything for you. Make a choice of where you want us to go, and to begin with, your lunch today is on me" he offered.
Freddie's surgery was successful. And he was eventually diagnosed with a partial stroke. He was placed on medication and placed on bed rest.
Greg called Lucas and appreciated him. He told him about the success of the surgery and Freddie's gradual recovery process.
Pamela and Lucas went on lunch and she told Lucas she was going to take up another job. Her company was owned by Louis Hayden and she can't just remain idle.
She was actually planning on leaving with her kids when Louis took them away from her. She would leave and only come around to see her children.
Lucas was unhappy. He knew Pamela loved Louis. The man she loves was in Oak City and her kids were also there. She can't just leave the city, just like that.
"I don't think it's a good idea, Pamela. Your kids are here and the man you love is also here. I think you should stay and put things in order" Lucas advised.
"But I will be idle," Pamela complained. Louis had retained every single employee that worked with her but she didn't bother on getting employed by him.
After what she's done, her ego will be bruised if she gets hired by the same person she had tried to ruin in the past. She's alright all by herself or getting hired by other companies.
"If you take that new job, will you get that satisfaction that you seek?" Lucas asked and Pamela couldn't answer the question.
"Why don't you sit back and think of the best option and what will make you happy. Your kids, your man" Lucas suggested.
Pamela nodded. She was wondering how her kids were doing in the Hayden's Mansion. She can't leave Oak City without them. How can she live somewhere far from her kids and ever think she can concentrate on anything?
She had tried her best these past few days to distract herself otherwise, the thoughts of her children had preoccupied her heart.
"Are you alright, Pamela?" Lucas asked and the latter smiled "I am fine and congratulations to the newest general manager in town" Pamela teased and laughed out loud.
Two days later, Louis took a flight to Singapore and Miranda Alvan was going to meet him there. The launching of their new robotic machine was going to take place in the next two days.
Louis Hayden and Romeo arrived first and booked a hotel. At Miranda's request, Romeo booked a room for her opposite to Louis' room.
Then Miranda Alvan arrived a day before the launch. She and Louis went out together, met a few people and concluded the launching of the project the next day.
They retired back into their various rooms when Pamela made a video call. She wanted to ask about the kids, she had no idea at all that he was not in Oak City or that the kids were not there, either.
Louis lingered on but eventually decided to answer the phone. "Hi Louise," Pamela said, smiling at him. She didn't expect that he would answer her, but she's glad he did. She hopes he let her see her kids.
"How are you Pamela?" Louis replied, not smiling though but having his usual poker face. Pamela can only have called him because she wants to talk to the kids.
Before Pamela could answer, Louis' door opened and Miranda Alvan walked in, dressed in silk nightwear. A sight that left an immediate impression.
Before Louis could turn and see who walked in, Pamela already saw her over Louis' shoulders. The cheerful countenance of Pamela disappeared. He was with Miranda Alvan.
When Louis saw Miranda Alvan, he was dazed. He left the door open because of Romeo. He was bringing a file to him, otherwise he is not in the habit of leaving his door ajar.
But who he least expected to see was Miranda. What the hell is she doing in his room in such a light dress at such an odd time?
"Hi Pamela" she waved at the woman on the other end. She raised Louis' hand and smiled at the woman. She didn't know she would walk in at the right time.
She's glad she did, at least an impression is created. It might be a wrong impression though, but it doesn't really matter to her. What is important is that she would leave the other woman jealous.
Pamela nodded and didn't wave back. It's obvious that she's not happy. She already concluded that Miranda was spending the night with Louis and the kids are watching.
Louis took his phone away from her with a frown. He looked at Pamela and saw her eyes turned cold. He sighed softly, what would she be thinking of him now?
"Sorry for being interrupted…" Louis was saying when he was interrupted "I didn't know you were having fun. I should be the one apologising for probably interrupting you and your girlfriend.
But I want you to know that I raised my kids in a decent and proper way. Their upbringing is pure, never have I soiled it with any form of immoral lifestyle.
Don't destroy my upbringing in those kids by your lifestyle. The kids are watching and seeing the kind of life you are living. What kind of a father are you Louis Hayden?
You forcefully took the kids from me and intend to inculcate your filthy lifestyle in them? I won't take it Louis, this has to stop otherwise I will use it against you in claiming my kids back. She's waiting for you…" Pamela concluded as her voice choked.
Her eyes became teary and to cover up her tears, she hung up. She threw her phone on the bed and started sobbing. He was having fun, he is with her again.
What is the hope that they would ever be together. He was addicted to this woman and she hovered around him at any slightest opportunity.
Now, she's in his Mansion. She was spending the night with him and the kids are definitely going to see them together. He is planting a seed in those children.
He wants to make Miranda Alvan the mother of her kids? She's eventually going to be their step mom. Lucas had advised her to create a reason for them to always be in touch.
He said she could use the kids as a yardstick to always call him. She just tried it for the first time and this is what she got. She doesn't know if she can still be courageous enough to continue.
She didn't even realise that what she felt for him was love. He made her realise it and now, she cannot deny it. She loves him even if she has only admitted it in her heart.
She sobbed. That feeling of knowing that someone you love is spending the night with another woman hurt. She had a similar feeling that night she saw Lucas and Emma having sex, the night before her wedding to Louis Hayden.
While Pamela was sobbing, Louis Hayden was furious. He stood a few seconds gazing at his phone. Pamela eventually called him and this is how Miranda ruined their evening.
He turned abruptly to face Miranda Alvan "what do you want?, Who said you could come into my room without my consent?" He roared at her furiously.
"Common Louis. I'm sorry if I interrupted your conversation with your ex wife. I meant no harm. So please calm down" Miranda apologised.
"What do you want?" Louis asked next, his eyes still fixed on her. He should calm down when she walks into his hotel room unannounced and wears something so seductive.
"Well, can I spend the night in your room? I just needed warmth. I feel cold and decided to come over.." Miranda Alvan was saying, walking closer to touch Louis' chest.
