Chapter 98: Chapter 98
"Please grandma.." Louis wanted to say something else when Clarion yelled at him "Don't let me disrespect you Louis Hayden. Get out of my face!"
Louis nodded and glanced at his son before stepping out. He got to his car and sat behind the steering wheel. He placed his head on the steering and sobbed.
Miranda was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state. Thank goodness for the oxygen mask she had on in the ambulance otherwise she might possibly have passed away.
She was as pale as paper white. The doctors rushed into action, the haematologists working hard to get blood for her transfusion, the doctors trying their best to keep her alive.
Soon pints of blood were being transfused into her one after the other. She was taken to the theatre to suture her belly again when they found out that the bleeding was severe and the uterus had been ruptured.
They have to carry out a Hysterectomy to save her life. Someone needed to sign a consent form but they found no one. In fact, the ambulance that brought her had gone.
No one seemed to recognise her. To save her life, the hospital lawyer was informed and passing through some processes, a consent was approved.
She was wheeled into the theatre and when the surgery was over, Miranda Alvan ceased to be a woman that can ever bear a child again.
Pamela arrived at the grocery store and they went in to get some items. While they were gone, a woman came to the chauffeur and said "this is for Miss Pamela"
The chauffeur accepted the big grocery bag and kept it in the car trunk. Forty minutes later, the two ladies walked out and went to keep the items in the trunk.
The chauffeur kept it and went back to sit behind the steering, driving the two ladies home.
When Pamela arrived home, she got in and found that her grandma was upstairs. She'd gone to lay Ethan in his cot. Lucas sat quietly, too quiet for Pamela and Alice's liking.
"Are you alright, Honey?" Alice inquired, going over and hugging him by his neck, kissing his chin.
"Welcome ladies. I'm cool" Lucas said, forcing a smile. He pulled Alice to himself and she sat on his thighs.
Pamela saw them and smiled. She went upstairs to meet her grandma when Lucas whispered "Louis Hayden was here to apologise, but he was sent away by Aunt Clarion"
"Really? President Hayden was here? He remembered his past with Pamela?" Alice chimed, excited that at last, everything is going to be alright again.
"Yes. But I said Grand Aunt sent him away and warned him to stay away from Pamela. He sobbed like a baby but she didn't want to see him" Lucas sadly.
"Oh no!" Alice exclaimed quietly.
The servants soon returned and said "Miss Alice, this is not part of the grocery" they announced bringing a big bag of clothes to her.
"Of course it's grocery. Pamela and I only went shopping for groceries" Alice said, pulling the bag to herself and glancing into it.
She immediately raised her head. What's wrong? This is someone else's item. Had they mistakenly carried the bag without them realizing it?
Alice gazed at Lucas. Opened her mouth and shut them again. She glanced into the bag and again, raised her head and glared at the servant and then Lucas.
"What, is anything the matter?" Lucas inquired.
"Something is the matter here, Lucas. This is not our bag. We have picked someone else's bag" Alice blurted.
Few minutes later, Pamela also stared at her friend "But I remember we only got two bags of groceries. You held one and I held the other. How can we possibly have carried someone else's bag?" Pamela demanded.
Alice shrugged. She doesn't like something like this. It would appear as if they stole. They are honourable and decent women that wouldn't do anything like that.
"You should return it immediately before the grocery shop detects that you carried it from the CCTV footage" Clarion instructed.
"Alright, grandma" Pamela nodded and lifted it when Clarion saw a certain inscription "Wait Pamela" she said and looked intently and declared "it's probably not a mistake then" raising her head and glaring at her daughter.
"I don't understand grandma" Pamela declared, fixing her eyes on the spot where her grandma pointed a finger.
'To you, my dear Pamela'
Pamela glanced at it over and over again and raised her head, glancing at her grandma. The two women fixed their gaze on each other for a while until Alice interrupted them.
"Is it a present from someone?" Alice asked.
"I guess so, anonymously" Pamela commented.
Louis stormed out that evening to his parents Mansion. They were having a quarrel with each other when Louis arrived.
"Mom!" He yelled at the top of his voice.
"Come out here!" He ordered.
