Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Her facial expression went pale as if she's drained of blood. She dragged the servant in and shut the door. She forced her against the wall and the plate of hot chicken stew poured out.
She pinned her mouth between two fingers. "You were eavesdropping on my conversation? You really lingered behind the door to listen to my conversation, right?" She yelled at the servant.
The servant struggled and got free. She glared at Miranda Alvan and said "I might be a servant or an employee of Mr Hayden but I am a human being too.
You may be married to him, but I have my right as well. It is a crime punishable by the law for an employer to go physical with his employees.
Besides, you are not my employer. You are married to Mr Louis Hayden by cunning means. You are not the woman he loves and you are an opportunist" the servant snapped at her.
Miranda couldn't retort back at her. This servant has no regard for her at all. How dare she say Louis Hayden is not in love with her?
"Why would I be eavesdropping on your conversation? Are you so relevant that I should do something so despicable?" The servant added and walked out.
She walked out, leaving the spilled chicken soup. Miranda pulled her back but the latter said "if you dare to touch me again, I will sue you for physical abuse" The servant said.
Pamela took the flowers that night and placed them by her bedside. She glanced at it and smiled. Louis definitely had sent her the flower. She took it and inhaled it and as she tried returning it back, a small fold of paper fell off.
She picked the paper and scolded herself. That's bad of her not to read the name of the sender. She opened it and read 'once I left you to fate. But henceforth, I will watch over you'
Pamela hissed and folded the paper, placing it back into the middle of the flower. Next time, Louis should think of a better lines to express his feelings
One thing was certain, she would get a private investigator to find out about her mother's grave. It would bring her grandma a great relief if she discovers her daughter's tomb.
At the same time, Louis changed into his pyjamas. He rarely talked from the moment he stepped into the house. He only asked Miranda how she's doing.
The latter said she's fine. But the doctor said they needed to be coming over to check on their baby until she's discharged from Neonates.
Louis nodded and said they would go the next morning. Besides that he didn't say anything but they had dinner together.
"You are not looking happy, my love" Miranda asked, trying to know what's bothering him. He hopes that woman hasn't said anything to him after the launching?
"Yes, I won't be for the time being" Louis replied, snorting silently. Bitch. He would only put up with her and act until he recovers everything.
"What's bothering you. You can talk to me. I am here for you" Miranda declared, sitting up on the bed.
"Nothing much. My parents are not happy for me. I have a baby, they won't even celebrate with me. Can you imagine that?" Louis faked a frown.
He turned around and glared at Miranda wearing a smirk. When the latter raised her head to glare at him, he returned to his fake frown.
"Don't let that bother you. Sooner or later, they will have to accept their grandchild. No one can resist the smile of a little innocent girl. So just give it time, okay?" Miranda coaxed.
"Hmmm" Louis hummed. 'Accept my foot' he thought to himself. She can keep up the act until he recovers. Then she would feel his wrath and take her baby to her father.
Louis was going to step out when Miranda said "Your medicine" offering him a coated capsule and a glass of water.
"Thank you" Louis accepted it. Throw it into his mouth and gulp it down with water. He placed the glass down and went to his study.
As soon as he got in, he brought the pills out from the corner of his inner jaw and placed it on a piece of paper. He folded it and kept it safe.
He took a glass of water and rinsed his mouth thoroughly before sinking into the swivel chair. How much longer does he have to tolerate this imposter?
The intimacy between Dr Alice and Lucas was so glaring. But somehow, Lucas hadn't really fallen head over heels for her like she's feeling about him.
One beautiful evening, Alice came over to Lucas Place. She had the keys to his apartment. She got groceries, filled the refrigerator with everything they would be needing.
She would be living in his place for a long time to come. She needs to start treatment on him and see just how they can do it.
She'd spoken to a Urologist. She'd take it upon herself and ensure Lucas gets alright. But then, he would have to cooperate with her.
She came with two boxes of suitcases. She took them upstairs and arranged her clothes alongside Lucas. She arranged her makeup kit before the vanity mirror.
Everything set, she took a quick bath, wore Lucas' shirt and ensured she had nothing underneath. She was happy and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner for them.
When Lucas arrived, he saw Alice's car parked. He already told her he would be late because he needed to get the work done in the office and it requires urgency.
He got into the house and the sweet aroma of noodles hit him. He swallowed hard. After their first night, Alice and himself hadn't really been together.
She's either on call or she's off while he is at work. And when he is free, she will be busy. Her job and his doesn't make time for them to be together.
He went to the kitchen and saw her standing with her back to the door. She wore his shirt and tied her hair up in a ponytail. She was wriggling her waist to the sound of the cool music.
Lucas stood and smiled. She's beautiful, and lovely to be with and looks like she would be spending the night with him.
He walked over and held her from behind. She screamed in surprise and turned around quickly to face him. She pulled the Bluetooth off and hugged him.
"You startled me," she said, giggling and hugging him.
"Oh, I did?" He said and hugged her by her waist. He kissed her lips briefly and said "I'm famished and the aroma of the food makes my belly churn"
"It's ready, I'm just cleaning up. You go upstairs, freshen up while I set the table" Alice said and kissed his lower jaw.
"Alright, I will be right back" Lucas said and kissed her temple before leaving.
When he got in, the bedroom smelled of feminism…
