Chapter 87: Chapter 87
"This will be the last time you spread scandal about Pamela. What exactly do you want from that woman? She's not competing with you over anything and yet, you still hurt her?" Louis bellowed.
After what he's heard, this woman Miranda Alvan irritates him. He knew being with her would be his greatest regret in this life. He knows he would hare himself and almost kill her when he remembers the past.
Miranda's smile disappeared. She glared at Louis and pouted her lips. She didn't expect he would say that to her, he's never said a word of correction or fury to her since they've been together.
This is Romeo's signature. She can recognise it from a glance. He has fed Louis with unpleasant stories about her. She would ruin him completely.
"What have I done wrong? I am married to the man I love and want everyone to know about it. I went ahead to broadcast our return, what have I done wrong in doing so?
Those who turned it into scandal were probably those who knew how much effort I put into place to be with my fiancée of many years.
There are some scavengers who took advantage of my innocent act and ruined it. You are now blaming me for doing nothing but want us to be happy?
Don't let anyone talk you into believing their lies. Some people are there who want to see you and I split like you and Pam…I mean.." she was saying when Louis interrupted her.
"You mean to say Pamela? Were you trying to say that I was with Pamela in the past?" Louis asked, faking a surprise.
"No, who is Pamela? It has always been you and I all these years. There are secret admirers but you are too engrossed with me in love to notice anyone.
I meant to say you and pancakes. You used to love it very much. But suddenly, some people told you it's childish and you've split from it…" Miranda kept talking.
He gnashed his teeth. He'd never met a shameless woman like this before. She dared to deceive him so much? He and pancakes, he'd never liked that stuff from childhood and his Mom never gave him.
He just wants to remember everything. He needs to remember it as soon as possible. This woman will feel his wrath. She will never be able to find the words with which to express her pain he would put her through.
"That's enough. Who sponsored the news of our baby? I haven't got to hold her in my arms and the news of her is flying everywhere on the internet? What kind of a mother are you?" Louis yelled at her.
She kept talking like a running tap whose lock had gone slack. He had to shut her up immediately.
"I thought you would be happy. This is your first baby, our child of love. Shouldn't we talk about her as happy parents should?" Miranda Alvan demanded, smiling but a corner of her eye furrowing for Louis' sudden change in behaviour.
"Let's go see her" Louis declared and immediately started walking out. Miranda raised herself up with difficulty and followed behind.
When they got there, Louis was captivated by the baby's looks. The doctor said she was fragile but Louis insisted on carrying her.
Miranda Alvan was happy. She saw the looks on Louis and was glad. He didn't detect anything. He didn't suspect that she's not his daughter.
If the likes of Romeo and Leah Hayden will stay away from them, it would be better for her and her baby. They would be the happiest family of three.
"I want to be alone with her, please" Louis demanded. He placed his lips on her tiny temple and kissed it.
"The baby shouldn't be held for too long, she's still so fragile" the doctor explained.
"I just want to be alone and hold her longer. Just five minutes alone with her to profess how much I longed for her to come into my life" Louis declared.
The doctor smiled and said "Alright, just five minutes" he said. He excused them and Louis asked Miranda "Would you please, check both of my back pocket, I think I lost a flash drive"
Miranda said okay, she moved to his back to check for the flash when Louis got a sterile tissue from his chest pocket and cleaned the moist part of the baby's lips and then placed it in his pocket again.
"Are you sure you carried it?" Miranda asked.
"You mean you didn't see it?" Louis asked, wearing a broad grin.
"I can't find it. I'm not sure you have it" Miranda responded.
"Forget it then. I probably might have left it in the car. Let's kiss our baby together" Louis flippantly said.
You should get discharged tomorrow, I will come around to fetch you home" Louis declared.
Miranda felt uncomfortable when Louis' cold attitude. Is anything the matter? Oh! He didn't take the medicine the previous day and might not be taking it that day as well.
"Your medicine, Louis. You haven't been taking it" Miranda Alvan declared.
"I'll wait for you to return. I can hold on till tomorrow" Louis declared and simply strode off.
Miranda was dazed. Louis appeared to have changed slightly. She hopes things don't get out of hand.
The next day, the project commissioning would be taking place by 10am. Louis arrived at the venue ahead of the others.
