Chapter 86: Chapter 86
Louis glared at Romeo. Oh no, this cannot be happening to him. He is still the same Louis Hayden that is the business tycoon in Oak City.
"I will arrange for you to see another doctor when the commissioning of the beachside village is over. But don't let Miranda know about it" Romeo solicited.
Lucas and Alice eventually left home. Lucas said he would pick her up for lunch and then drop her off at work. Alice agreed and got into her car.
They hadn't gone far when Lucas called Alice. She immediately answered her phone "My love" she said, slowing down to park by the wayside.
"Pamela called me. She said she's found her real family. She was sobbing and at the same time excited. Will you go and be with her, I'll join you later" Lucas surprised.
"Okay. I'll be seeing her then. Catch up with us later" Alice said and hung up. Pamela's life seemed to be coated with wraps and a series of surprises.
Like an onion, she needs to be unveiling those layers one after the other. But strongly in her heart, she knows that this is getting tougher in order to get brighter.
This is the hardest part of Pamela's life. When all of these are over, she would only experience an overwhelming happiness, she and her children will be happy and so will Louis Hayden.
Alyana was driven to the airport when King Tarvan called her. Even Pamela would not call him and ask him how he was doing?
She saw her grandma and didn't desire to see her grandfather? Clarion would not call him and Pamela will not bother to? Hence he called Alyana again.
"Good morning your highness" Alyana said, sitting at the copilot seat. This is the second time his highness is calling her. Hasn't her majesty spoken to him yet?
"Where are you?" Tarvan inquired.
"On my way to the airport, your highness, I'm returning to Middletown City today," Alyana replied. If his highness thinks that she's still with the queen and the princess, then it's not true.
"Don't bother coming over. Return back and stay with the queen as her personal maid. Tell the princess to call me when you return home" Tarvan instructed.
Alyana was dazed. Assigned to the queen as her maid? What an honour?
"It shall be as your highness has spoken" Alyana said politely. When the King hung up, Alyana told the chauffeur that she's to return home. The King has assigned her to the queen.
"... grandma, you need to see how we all sobbed. They sobbed over the loss of their brother afresh as if he just died or has just been buried.
I sobbed for the death of my father. We didn't get to meet each other in this life like my Mom. They hugged me and soak my shoulders with their tears…" Pamela explained to her grandma, picking a sliced apple into her mouth.
"Oh Pamela. I was so scared. I wondered where my pregnant daughter was off to in the late evening. I'm glad now, you have your paternal family, the ones you grew up knowing without realising that they are your family.
This gladdens my heart. Alice was a very sweet woman. I love her very much and Tarvan loves her to the moon. She was such a lovely girl until she was sent away because she was pregnant…" Clarion explained and cleaned her tears.
"I'm glad that my mom has such a blessed memory. If I have a chance again in my next life, I will still choose Alice Johnson to be my mother" Pamela chimed, taking her grandma's hands and giving it a soft squeeze.
"And she'll still be my little girl again. We three will be three generations of amazing women. And I love you both more than my life" Clarion declared amidst moist eyes.
"I love you very much Grandma and my mommy loves you too" Pamela chimed and hugged her Grandma.
"Keep the box. It contains your lifelong inheritance from your Mom. Alice's grandma gave her a larger part of it and the rest were hers.
Only you will own the royal jewelry of Middletown City. The rest are with me. I will give them all to you and the next five generations of yours, would never smell poverty" Clarion assured.
"What about grandpa's concubines? Aren't you going to leave them something? You are their mother as well" Pamela demanded.
"I was their mother, I know. But no more" Clarion declared.
Pamela squinted. Something indeed has gone wrong. Her grandma and her grandpa are having issues? Is that why she left her grandpa and came over to be with her?
She hadn't talked about him since her arrival. No, she would never let this happen between her grandparents, she would never let it happen.
"Are you having issues with my father? Did father hurt you? Are you upset with him" Pamela asked and Clarion said "yes.
I not only have issues with your father or grandfather whichever you choose to call him, but I have divorced him already. I don't owe him anything else"
Pamela was alarmed.
She wanted to ask her what happened when the door opened and Alyana walked in. Pamela turned and glared at her sharply.
"Alyana, what happened? Did you miss your flight?" Pamela asked quickly, looking at her wristwatch.
"No, my lady. The King ordered me to return and be a personal maid to the queen. And he said I should tell you to call him, princess" Alyana declared.
Queen Clarion rolled her eyes and stood up and went upstairs. Pamela glared at Alyana and said "Before leaving Middletown City, do you by chance know if my parents have an issue?"
Alyana looked away not saying anything. She doesn't know what to say.
"You speak when the princess asks you a question?" Pamela commanded. Why couldn't she detect that something went wrong, for the past few days.
"I don't know much except that her majesty was locked up in confinement for a few months by his highness" Alyana answered.
"Oh!..." Pamela was going to say something next when Alice walked in. She waved her hand and Alyana went back to her room.
"Bestie" Pamela said, and went back to her happy cheerful mood. She glanced at Alice and the two friends burst into laughter.
"You both have bonded, right?" Pamela asked.
"You can tell from my smiles" Alice responded and the two friends hugged each other.
Congratulations Alice. You deserve a sweet guy like Lucas" Pamela chimed, smiling broadly.
"Thank you, you made it happen" Alice appreciated.
Louis arrived at the hospital and went to see Miranda. The latter saw him and smiled broadly, expecting Louis to come over to hug her, but no, he did something that surprised her.
