Chapter 64: Chapter 64
"Everything will become plain someday. One day she would realize how real your love for her is, and how much you really wanted her to be your daughter in-law.
I cannot tell how long it will take. I wish I could tell you how much longer we need to wait until Louis gets himself back, but I cannot.
But we all wait for the day to come. A lot of harm has been done to the poor woman. She's even preg.." Romeo said and paused. Lucas told him not to say it.
Ellis raised his teary eyes and glared at Romeo. He heard what he said midway before pausing. Romeo knew something that he wasn't telling him. Was he going to say that Pamela is pregnant?
"Pamela is pregnant with my grandchild, right?" Ellis asked and Romeo looked away. Gosh!! He blew it off.
"She's really pregnant with Louis' child while he stayed back in Turkey, cuddling another woman in some shameless union called Marriage?" Ellis bellowed.
What kind of a man is Louis? Should he think of getting married to a woman while he hadn't recovered his memory? Shouldn't he wait until he recovers ?
Then he would have known if he was marrying the right woman or an imposter? He'd ruined everything for Pamela! He was engaged to her and went ahead, got another woman pregnant and now, married her.
"Sir, President Hayden is a sensible man. To have been married to Miranda Alvan means she pressured him to do it using her unborn baby as a yardstick to get him to do it" Romeo defended.
He would try his best to keep everything in check until Louis returned to take over his company and business, until he came to think of ways to clean up the mess he had created.
"Shouldn't he insist that he wants to recover his memory before getting married? Did she pressured him to wear a suit and sign the marriage licence?
His fiance is here with his kids and expecting another baby and he is married to another woman? No wonder Pamela reacted the way she did. It was more complicated than I thought" Ellis bellowed.
"Sir, I was told not to let you or Mrs Leah know about Pamela's pregnancy. She doesn't want you to know about it" Romeo pleaded.
"I'll keep the knowledge of it safe. Leah won't hear a thing from me" Ellis assured him.
Things went as usual until another week passed. Lucas and Alice don't get tired of spending their out of work time with Pamela.
They got out with the kids and Pamela stayed back sometimes. She hardly talks and when she does, it's a syllable or two and that's the end.
But this particular evening, the kids insisted that they were going to get to know Uncle Lucas' house. They would stay back and have dinner.
Lucas' temple went blank. He eats out lately because his cook went to stay with her daughter that just gave birth. He decided not to employ another cook until the woman is back. After all, he seldom eats at home.
He glanced at Alice and then Pamela. The adults smiled and Lucas felt his hair was itching him all of a sudden.
"Aren't you going to take us to your house?" Daniel asked, jumping already and ready to go.
"Sure. But we'll order a takeout for dinner. My cook had travelled, "he answered.
"I'll do the cooking" Alice volunteered. She glared at Lucas. She wants to be close to him as much as she can. She's in love with him.
"That would be amazing," Lucas chimed. He's so happy to hear that. At least there would be a home made meal in his Mansion.
"Oh my goodness!" Damian said, taping his feet on the floor and glaring at Lucas. The adults were surprised and glanced at him.
"What's the matter dude?" Alice asked, the bravest and most intelligent of them. He has a great resemblance with Louis Hayden as if he had spewed him out of his mouth.
"I think uncle Lucas needs a girlfriend," Damian declared, and shook his head like an adult. He kept his gaze on Lucas and kept tapping his feet.
The adults were dazed. Pamela turned and glanced at him briefly, a faint smile appeared on her lips.
Lucas swallowed hard. He doesn't know how to retort to the young fellow. Of course he needs a girlfriend but he wasn't expecting Damian to say it so loud.
Alice glanced at Lucas and chuckled softly. His quietness meant Damian's words hit him hard. She can't explain how sweet her belly was.
Before they could recover their wits, Dora added "And Aunt Alice is a perfect match for the choice of a girlfriend" she said, rolling the tip of her long hair around her fingers.
It was Alice's turn to go dazed. She was shy and didn't dare to look at Lucas. The latter glanced at her and saw her blushing.
"It's enough, let's go". "Fine, let's go," Lucas said at the same time with Alice. The both of them paused and turned to glance at each other and their eyes met.
A feeling rushed through Lucas' body. He looked away and Alice did. At the same time, they smiled again and stretched out their hands.
The four kids exchanged glances and smiled. Two of them went to Lucas and the other two went to Alice.
Pamela saw the drama and pouted her lips. This looks good. It might be something that will come true indeed. She noticed some attitude of someone who is in love with Alice.
But either Lucas was not seeing it or he chose to pretend not to notice her attraction to him. Whatever, she wants them both to be happy. Even if their happiness is tied to each other.
"Are you coming with us?" Alice asked. She doesn't want Pamela to be alone. It might cause depression and she is trying hard to fight against it.
"I need to do some work in my study. I will be busy" Pamela gave an excuse. She doesn't feel like going. Everyday, she draws near to her delivery.
Where will she get money to get things they need? Her savings were going down speedily and she has a lot of responsibility to take care of.
"If that's the only reason you want to stay back, bring your computer along and use my study," Lucas offered.
Pamela's baby bump was now protruding slightly. She seemed to have added a few pounds of flesh but she still looked good and attractive.
"Yes, come along mommy, please" the kids pleaded
