Chapter 62: Chapter 62
Lucas' eyes welled up in tears. His Married, he really left Oak city and got married elsewhere? No wonder, Pamela couldn't take it, he left her for real.
"I feel sorry for Miss Pamela. I don't know why she should be experiencing this in her life. I don't know why nature should play pranks on her and toil with her emotions…" Romeo sadly said.
Lucas couldn't bring himself to say anything. For the second time. She lost her men to other women. How can he face her with his guilt filled face?
He was the first. He left her and married Emma. Now, she's pregnant with Louis' child. He left her and married his childhood friend and sweetheart like the media called it.
Lucas' phone rang and he saw the call was coming from Pamela's Mansion. The kids, those little ones, how are they feeling.
He didn't answer the phone and called Alice "Alice please, Pamela is in a state of shock and she's in the hospital. Kindly go to her Mansion and keep those children company for the night"
"Pamela, shocked. I have been calling her and she's not answering. I saw the news of Louis' wedding. Oh poor Pamela" Alice said.
She took her bag and dashed out. After Lucas hung up, he then called the Mansion telephone in Pamela's place.
"What is wrong with my mummy? Dora has been crying since you left. My brothers and I are scared if anything happens to our mummy. We will die with her if anything happens to her" Damian declared as soon as he answered the phone.
"No, don't sob. Am I speaking with David?" Lucas asked. He cannot identify them by their voices. But facially he can identify them.
"No, it's me Damian," The boy said. He cleaned his tears and glanced back at his brothers who folded themselves on the sofa.
The cook sat with them, carrying Dora and trying to coax her to be calm. She said her mummy will be fine and will return home to her.
"Alright. Your mom will be fine. The doctors are attending to her okay? You plead with your siblings that I said your mom will be alright.
Your dear Aunt Alice is on her way to you. She will be there to spend the night with you. I promise that your mom will be fine" Lucas coaxed and soon hung up.
"The kids are worried. Do I need to send my wife over to them?" Romeo volunteered.
"They aren't used to her like they are to you. They'll be fine once their mom's friend gets there. They know her and are used to her" Lucas replied.
Romeo nodded. After some time, Lucas requested "Please don't let Mr Ellis and his wife know that Pamela is pregnant. She is not interested in informing them"
"Alright" Romeo nodded.
Leah placed her hand on her chest. The news before them made Ellis go quiet and not say anything for over thirty minutes.
Her clouded eyes rained down tears. She is damned. Her son had married her, they have become inseparable. First, she was pregnant with his child, and now they are married.
They got married in Turkey. She started sobbing. What had she done to herself? Why did she do this to Pamela? She had ruined the hope of that poor woman.
Ellis didn't say anything but stood up and left. Leah doesn't know where he'd gone and she couldn't stop him. She knew she had caused a rift between them by her actions and now, it's returned to haunt her.
In Turkey, Louis Hayden and Miranda Alvan were supposed to have a wedding night. But Louis didn't let it happen. After they got married and had a snappy reception with some few friends, they retired to the hotel room.
As soon as they stepped in, a strong weight of guilt descended on Louis. He felt his heart become heavy and his conscience was troubling him.
Something isn't right. He couldn't tell Miranda Alvan what he was feeling, but the desire to consummate their union disappeared.
Miranda wasn't looking attractive to him anymore. It seemed she suddenly disgusts him. Why on earth will he feel that way about his new bride, the woman he just married?
They would be spending the rest of their lives together alongside their kids. This isn't right. He just pulled off the outer jacket and sank into the sofa.
"Take off my dress honey" Miranda requests, turning her back to him. Louis nodded and pulled down the dress zipper, as he did it, his hands shiver.
He paused and glared at his trembling hand. What is wrong with him? His breathing became hard and he looked on, not pulling the zipper to its base.
Feeling that Louis had stopped, Miranda assumed that he was through pulling the zipper and said "you're the groom, you'll have to undress the bride, Louis" She teased, turning herself to face him.
Louis' facial expression stiffened. He would undress her? She doesn't impress him anymore. He's not feeling attracted to her.
"Yes, common my darling husband" Miranda chimed, placing her hand on Louis' lower jaw and caressing his beard.
"Yeah, sure" he agreed and tried pulling the dress down but couldn't. Suddenly he realised the zipper was not totally completed, he said "Would you please turn your back to me, quickly?"
Miranda did and he pulled the zipper down with all difficulty. she turned to face him and he started undressing her by first pulling the dress down.
"You're slow, Louis," Miranda declared and twisted her body, letting the dress slip down to her feet.
Louis glared at her body. She had a white bra and panties on. Her body smelled of a good fragrance but Louis' heart suddenly poke him as if a knife was used to cut an artery off.
"Ahh,"he groaned and held his chest. He breathed hard and sank into the sofa. Still holding his chest, he felt a little relief.
"Are you okay?" Miranda Alvan asked and Louis nodded. He hopes he is not getting a cardiac arrest at his age. Besides, he just started his life afresh now.
An hour later, Miranda Alvan said "It's our wedding night, Louis and you will have to fulfil your conjugal responsibility" She mumbled.
"I will, but spare me tonight. I feel tired already" Louis declared. How can he tell her about the heavy weight of guilt that suddenly plunged his heart, or that she disgust him at the moment?
"No, Louis. I won't press you hard on it. Just take me once tonight and tomorrow, we'll be together all day" Miranda rebuffed.
Louis sighed, Miranda is too demanding. He had always thought most men are like that but in his own case, his woman hardly gets satisfied.
He doesn't have the strength to appease her demand that night. His heart and mind are heavy and he can't think of anything at the moment.
"No, I don't feel like it. Besides, you are pregnant. Your desires should be minimal" Louis snapped at her.
"Being pregnant does not make any difference. Besides, we are married, we just got married and we have to fulfil each other's desire, knitting our souls together in conjugal act" Miranda insisted.
Louis wanted to leave the bed but Miranda held him "I want you Louis. I'm your wife and you'll have to fulfil your responsibility towards me. Please, do it for me" she pleaded, pulling him back into the bed and dipping her hands into his pyjamas.
