Chapter 56: Chapter 56

His eyes welled up in tears. He appeared normal like he used to be. His long sleeve shirt had been folded up to his elbow.

The tuck of his shirt had been removed and his belt was unbuckled. His hair was rough, a typical difference to the well treated, combed into style type of hair he used to wear.

Ellis, Romeo and the doctor looked in the direction of the lounge where Louis stood, at its doorway. His tall handsome figure was still intact but everything else was out of place.

At that moment, the doctor regretted his actions. He shouldn't have accepted Miranda Alvan's bargain. He shouldn't have reduced such a charming man to what he is at the moment.

Louis Hayden is a great guy. Loved and admired by many. Cute and handsome, charming and the desire of many women.

But the fellow standing at the doorway doesn't look anything like him besides the similarities in facial expression. He is a shadow of his former self.

"No, you are not. You can never depreciate to that extent as long as I am Alive. If I have to go to the ends of the earth to consult the best surgeon, I will do so" Ellis replied and went towards him.

Louis sniffled and hugged his dad. He sobbed on his shoulders. Thank goodness, both of them are men of great heights.

"But look at me, dad. I am not the son that you raised. I am a stranger now. I don't even know myself anymore. I feel there's another personality living in me. I'm tired, dad, I'm really tired" he mumbled, amidst sobs.

"You will be fine, my son. I promise you that I will ensure that you are alright again" Ellis promised.

This is the son he raised from infancy to what he grew to become. Everything had been alright before and after he came out of coma.

But a mere concussion had grown into something so complex. What can he do now, to hasten his recovery faster than it should be?

Louis looked towards the doctor and left his father. He walked towards the doctor and asked "What is wrong with the medication you gave me?

Why was I misbehaving? Are you incompetent despite many years of practice as a physician? What happened, what is the problem with my brain!" Louis asked in a hoarse voice.

"You will be fine, President Hayden. I will change your medication. Like I told your dad and your assistant, it probably was misappropriation of the dose.

But it might as well be a reaction that your body develops in resistance to the drugs. I will change it immediately, in fact, I already changed it to another type" the doctor explained.

"You better see that I recover fast. Otherwise, I will chop off your head as a real reaction to the drug that is making me act crazily. I will kill you and get away with it, after all, you said my crazy disposition might have been caused by a reaction to the drugs, right?" Louis threatened.

The doctor felt his shirt was drenched with sweat. Beads of sweat rose on his forehead and he swallowed hard. This is going to put him between the rock and a hard place.

"You have my words" The doctor promised.

Turning to Romeo, he instructed "Make a research and see if I can find other physicians who are specialized in this branch of medicine"

"Alright sir," Romeo replied.

"Get out!" Louis commanded, glaring at the doctor.

The doctor took his briefcase and left the office. Louis Hayden didn't know the enormous favour he did to him to have asked him to leave.

The last thing he wanted at that moment was to stand before his fury and coldness. That dude possesses an intimidating aura.

After the doctor left, Louis turned to his dad and said "I need a leave. I want to be away for a few weeks or months, until I'm able to calm myself and become who I used to be.

If I remain here, in the same environment, I'm afraid I might commit suicide" He requested.

"You have the leave. Travel around to the places you've been to. It might help you with the recovery as well.

But will you be going with Romeo?" Ellis asked. He can't be alone at this time. He needs someone by his side. This is causing him depression already.

"No, I will be with Miranda. She's my fiancée and the mother of my unborn child. She would be with me and ensure I am safe.

On the other hand, you need Romeo. He knew about some of the deals and contracts that I might not remember. You need him around dad" Louis explained.

Romeo sighed. Miranda Alvan his fiancée will be with him indeed. She would drug him one of the nights and then go and have sex with someone else in the same hotel.

Ellis nodded helplessly. Since it's only Miranda Alvan he was made to know and he has gotten addicted to her, he cannot say otherwise at this point that he feels so down in his spirit.

"...the game is up. I was almost caught up in the web of deception you dragged me into. I narrowly escaped from being discovered.

Why did you give him two doses at the same time? Are you crazy or something? Do you want him to lose his mind completely?

Remember if I go down, I'll drag you along. We'll go down together, you and I" the doctor declared and without waiting for her response, he hung up.

What has he gotten himself into? The juicy part between a woman's thighs is going to cost him to ruin his career and reputation.

Isn't this woman evil?
