Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Ellis arrived home, his mood was scary and his eyes were red. He gave out a cold aura and when Leah saw him, she knew something had gone wrong, somewhere.
"Are you alright, Ellis!" Leah asked, coming over and placing her hands on his shoulders. She turned him to glare at her and stared into his eyes.
"What's the matter, Ellis? You can talk to me, I am here to listen" Leah said, caressing her husband's face, trying to calm his tense mood.
Ellis just stared at Leah. She could act so well. He didn't know he had married and lived with a drama queen all these years.
She chose to be mean and evil towards her own son and in extension to Pamela. Directly or indirectly, he is just realizing that she's a terrible mother and unfilially friend.
If what he heard about his wife came from an opponent, a rival, he would contend with such a one and sue him for defamation.
But it's Romeo. Louis' own assistant. He even assured him that he could investigate and asked his wife about what he said. He would find it to be true.
Ellis shoved Leah away from him and glared at her in fury. He might have been quiet and let her do whatever she likes, it's all because she is Louis' mother.
Unlike him, he is all she's got. Her hope, her Joy and her future all are embodied in Louis. And he knew how much she loved him, at least that's what he thought, that she loved him.
Leah was dazed. She almost tripped over at Ellis ' actions. What is the matter with Ellis? Why the brutal shoving aside?
"Ellis, are you alright?" Leah asked and Ellis moved closer to her and she took another step backwards. She doesn't understand what has come upon her husband.
"No, I am not alright. I want you to help me become alright" Ellis replied moving towards her and Leah kept going backwards until she couldn't go again.
The wall stopped her. She couldn't move backwards and Ellis' eyes were emitting fire. It seemed as if he was hurting within, a fire was consuming his good nature and at that moment, he appeared scary and Leah was indeed scared.
"Ellis stop, just stop and tell me what's going on with you" Leah yelled at him, shivering and afraid of what he might be up to.
Ellis got to her and he fisted his palm, Leah was scared and she closed her eyes waiting for whatever Ellis decided to do, hurt her or maybe murder her.
But Ellis smashed his fist against the wall and pinned Leah in between. "I will ask you questions, and you will answer me correctly. If you don't, I will really go mad with you" he thundered.
Leah opened her eyes and nodded, she was fidgeting. She'd never seen Ellis like this before. For close to thirty years of their marriage, Ellis has only respected her and shown her his good side. But now, she just doesn't know what has come over him.
"Why did you choose to ruin Louis' happiness by separating him from the woman he loves?" Ellis's first question sounded like a rending sound of a volcano on Leah's ears.
She glared at Ellis in shock. He had known about it. He had discovered her scheme in rendering those two lovers a part?
"Answer me already" Ellis thundered, glaring at her in hostility.
"I was afraid of what Louis' life would be if Pamela returned to her toxic nature" Leah replied hurriedly.
"And you chose to hire that bitch, who wouldn't be responsible to her ex husband. You stroke a deal with such a lousy opportunist for a hundred million dollars to impersonate Pamela.
And deceive Louis that she's his fiancée. You sold our son out without price to such a woman and ruined Pamela. You even pulled her by the hair and pulled out her strands of hair, right?" Ellis asked again.
Leah's eyes are welled up with tears. She swallowed hard and nodded. He had found out everything.
"Answer me in words" Ellis commanded.
"Yes, I'm sorry Ellis" Leah answered.
"You are an evil woman, Leah Hayden. You are the meanest mother the world record will capture. I thought you were the sweetest woman in this world and I fell in love with you.
I have loved you all these years and we have a son, a grown up man now. But I didn't really know who you are, Leah" Ellis snorted.
Leah was now sobbing. She'd only been able to recover from the guilt that plunged her soul after Pamela's words that morning.
She didn't expect that a fuller dose of guilt was going to be poured out on her so soon. She started sobbing, clasping her hands in apology.
"You can ruin someone else's daughter's happiness and you can do so to your own son as well. That's the nature I just found out about you.
Louis is my son, Leah! He is my first son and the one who will carry on the name and reputation of this family to the next generation. He is my son as much as he is yours.
How dare you try to ruin my son's happiness, Leah? I am Louis' father and you shouldn't have done anything without consulting me especially if that decision concerns my own son!
And I do not find it strange if you destroy Alice's daughter's happiness too. Since you have grown an inhumane mind and destroyed your son, it's not a surprise that you did so to someone else.
But Pamela does not deserve this. She doesn't deserve this at all. She's a pure young woman who has faced the cruel side of life.
And when she found happiness in her kids' father, you ruined her hope, burst her bubbles and ruined her love. You are evil, Leah.
What about Alice? She was the chief bridesmaid at our wedding. She stood by you, she gave you the hand of a true friend. She was more than a friend, she was the sister that you never had.
And after many years, you found her daughter, a spitting image of Alice herself. You cannot return the favours. You cannot hold her daughter's hand and declare her your daughter.
Alice is looking down at you from among the stars. And her ethereal heart will bleed. Her soul will break down in hurt and would see the evilness of humanity.
Wouldn't it be amazing that you and Alice would remain together as grandmothers if she was alive? Shouldn't you celebrate her memory in those little young Hayden's?
But no, your human heart has been changed and the one inside that rib cage of yours is a devil's heart. You are evil, Leah" Ellis reprimanded her.
Leah sank on her knees and held Louis' legs. She was sobbing. She didn't think along those lines. She was only seeing superficial things. She was evil indeed, just as Ellis had described her.
"But I will assure you of something, the day Louis recovers his memory and remembers Pamela and his kids, and the amazing part you played, in separating him from his fiancée and his kids, he will not let it go.
Louis will never forgive you. He will hate you more than anything in this life. Not a single thing you have done for him will matter to him again.
He will curse the day he had you as his mother. You will lose your son forever and even your most cherished grandchildren will hate you and desecrate your tomb one day.
You have no idea of the present and future calamity you have brought upon yourself. You will bite your fingers and none will tell you sorry" Ellis concluded.
Leah sob louder. She was sniffling. How can she bear it if her son and grandchildren hate her, even in death, they would despise her.
Pamela said it earlier that day and Ellis said the same thing too. It only means it will come true. Two people said the same thing to her, on the same day and on the same matter.
"I'm sorry…I'm so..rry Ellis" Leah said amidst sobs. She swallowed hard and sniffled "I ruined everything, I will make it right again.
I will ask Miranda Alvan to leave, the deal is over and I will pay off. I will go and find Pamela and bring her back. I will ask her to forgive me.
Trust me Ellis, I will do all I can to make it right. All my mistakes, I will correct them. I will bring Pamela and the kids back to our lives and we'll be together forever" Leah assured her husband.
"You think there's anything you can do Leah?" Ellis asked, chuckling loudly in dismay.
"Yes. It can be corrected" Leah assured him standing up and holding Ellis hand, she gradually hugged him, placing her head on his chest.
"Well, I don't think so. I don't think there's anything you can do at this time. The whole plot and deal has gone to a point that is unredeemable" Ellis disclosed.
"No, don't say or think like that. I will make it right, I promise" Leah was persistent.
"What can you do, Leah?" Ellis pulled her away from him and stared at her eyes "Miranda Alvan is pregnant and Louis is the father of her
