Chapter 43: Chapter 43
Ellis saw her sprang up in surprise. Oh, he hadn't told her what happened in the office a few weeks ago. It appeared she would be more shocked than he was that day.
"You mean to say that Louis and Miranda are…" Leah trailed off. That's not part of the deal. Miranda Alvan is taking advantage of her son.
"None of us believed it until Pamela dashed into the office right before Romeo and I and accused Louis of cheating on her with Miranda.
I wanted to defend Louis. I tried to convince her that she's thinking too much. Louis wouldn't do that but it didn't help because Louis lashed at her and told her to go to hell.
He even went physical with Pamela that Romeo and I had to come to her rescue. Things had fallen apart between them. I called Louis aside to ask him and he confirmed it.
I'm just worried that things would get out of hand if Miranda Alvan still remains by his side. I don't know what to do now, Leah," Ellis explained.
Leah swallowed hard. Why would Miranda breach their agreement? Why will she exploit Louis sexually, knowing that he is not in love with her?
"Why will Miranda Alvan go to that extent with Louis? He's her friend for heaven's sake!" Leah snorted.
"I wonder so, my love" Ellis sighed.
That night, Pamela laid on her bed. She was sad. Every night when she has to lay on the bed alone, on such cold lonely nights, she will lay below her quilt and cuddle her teddy bear.
She was worried. What can she do to hasten Louis' recovery? He doesn't want to see her, he has become addicted to Miranda Alvan and they are often seen together in places.
The only way she can get her fiance back is if he recovers his memory. Without it, she can only watch from a distance, her man going around with someone else by his side.
It's like a thorn piercing through her heart whenever she sees him with Miranda Alvan. If only she could get access to him, she would have taken him to see other psychiatric doctors.
She sighed. How on earth can she explain her predicament? She and Louis were together all morning, cuddling and knitting their soul together in love making but before the end of that day, she lost him.
What if she becomes pregnant from that intimacy what will she…Pamela was thinking when she suddenly paused.
"What if..?" Pamela asked herself but couldn't bring herself to answer the question.
She raised herself to a sitting position quickly. She didn't use any contraceptives when she woke up. "What is today's date?" She asked herself.
When was she supposed to menstruate? She became still, doing a quick calculation. She's three weeks late!
"Oh no!" Pamela exclaimed. No, this shouldn't be happening to her. She can't possibly be pregnant with Louis' child again. No she shouldn't.
She completely forgot to do so. Louis had gotten her some pills and wanted her to take it after breakfast but then, they ended up in the bedroom again.
She was supposed to take it after they made love but she slept off. It then skipped her mind when she learnt he was in the hospital and the kids were in the Hayden's Mansion.
First thing the next morning, Pamela got dressed. She asked her chauffeur to drive the kids to school. She took a different car and went to the hospital.
She went to have a test done. Pamela waited patiently. She prayed silently while waiting. She doesn't want to be pregnant. She can't be, at this critical time in her relationship with Louis.
It should just be a delay caused by her restlessness and desperation about Louis' condition. It should be caused by any other reasons other than pregnancy.
Even if the doctor tells her it is a premenopausal condition, she wouldn't get worried as much as being pregnant. Even though she knows she is a woman in her prime and at her flowery age.
She kept glancing at her wristwatch. It's taking longer than she expected. Why is the laboratory department staying so long in carrying out a pregnancy test?
The wristwatch seemed to be slower than ever. Every time she glanced at the wristwatch, it seemed like it's thirty seconds.
Pamela was tapping her feet in agitation. Oh her life! She mustn't be pregnant. No, she shouldn't be!
Twenty minutes later, the doctor called Pamela into his office. A printed laboratory report was handed over to her and she collected it with a forced smile.
She wanted to open it when the doctor said "Congratulations Miss Grayson, you are five weeks pregnant!"
Pamela's hand shivered and she snapped her head up at the doctor. What is the doctor saying that he is excited about, congratulating her for what?
"What did you say?" She asked in amazement.
When Pamela returned to her car, she started sobbing profusely. She took the laboratory report and glanced at it for the time, five weeks pregnant!
She placed her hand on her tummy again. She had done it countless times from the moment the doctor told her she was pregnant.
She is carrying Louis' baby again? For the second time she's pregnant with his seed. What is she going to do, who is going to be by her side at this peculiar time?
Just then, her phone rang. Without looking at the caller's ID, she answered her phone.
"Hey Pamela, I was thinking we could have lunch together" Lucas blurted.
