Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Louis was furious and yanked Pamela, bringing his face close to hers and yelled into it "Go to hell, go!!"and like a kitten he dragged her towards the door and pushed her out with a "thud" sound on the floor.
Pamela fell on the floor and at the feet of a woman. She was sobbing, her hair now rough, it covered her face as she felt humiliated again.
This is the second time he dragged her like this. Is history repeating itself again?
She saw the designer shoes the woman wore and expected that she would give her a hand, help her rise up again.
"President Hayden! Just stop this" Romeo bellowed. But it was late, Louis was holding his head in pain.
Another flash of the past came to his memory again. He shoved a woman angrily out of the car. But he didn't see her face and his head pained him.
He didn't even regard Romeo's words. Romeo and Ellis went outside and saw that Pamela was on the floor and Miranda towered over her.
Romeo shook her head. She caused this. Romeo went and helped Pamela up. The latter raised her head to glare at the woman and saw she was none other than Miranda Alvan.
She was wearing a broad grin. She glared at Pamela with triumph. She won. Either she's there or not, she would win over Pamela, always.
She ended up at her feet. That's the symbol of her triumph. If Pamela Grayson has any sense in that skull of hers, she should know that she'd lose to her.
Pamela glared at Miranda Alvan with a calm stare now. Her words made her come over to confront Louis and she suffered humiliation.
All the employees on the executive floor came to see her. A mini crowd had gathered and Pamela really felt ashamed.
"Are you alright?" Romeo asked, holding her to a side hug. He immediately regretted asking that question. How can she be alright after what Louis just did to her.
His gaze was on Miranda. This is how far she had drifted the lovers apart. How long will it take before things return to normalcy? How much longer?
"You won. Miranda Alvan, you won. I give up" Pamela said and walked gently towards the elevator.
Romeo followed at Ellis' tucking. He escorted her out and saw the broken woman. Pamela, the elegant beauty and princess of Middletown City.
For the first time, he felt like sobbing for her. The price that love placed before her was too much. How can she go to this extent just to win over the man she loves?
"Do you need someone to drive you home?" Romeo asked. He wouldn't mind doing that. Anything, he was willing to do for Pamela.
"No, thank you Romeo. I will be fine. I'll just call my chauffeur and he will be here soon. Thank you for coming this far with me" Pamela said, getting into her car.
Ellis glared at Miranda. She is Louis' partner on the robotic machine. But didn't know besides being partners she was willing to take their relationship to the next level.
And the chance came. She grabbed it. He dislikes her very much now. A woman that can be so mean to another woman, that cannot even offer a helping hand to raise her up is a terrible woman.
"Dad, my head. It's like it's splitting!" Louis screamed.
Dr Alice tried calling her new found sister. But after several attempts, she couldn't reach her. She became worried.
She tracked her contact and discovered she's in a secluded place in a restaurant. She hurriedly took her car and went to find her.
She found Pamela, seated in her car. She wasn't sleeping. She was just calm, not talking to anyone.
"Pamela" Alice called but the latter just turned and glared at her. She didn't say anything.
Alice didn't wait for another minute. She persuaded Pamela out of the car and took her into her own car. She then drove her to her home.
The servants were worried when they saw Pamela. She's not the same woman that left the Mansion that morning.
Alice got a damn towel and damned her forehead. It was burning hot with fever. She got some drugs and wanted to give her but paused.
"Can you possibly be pregnant!" Alice asked. Pamela squinted and was quiet for a few minutes. The nice times she spent with Louis was not followed with a contraceptive.
"I don't know," she said. Alice then refuses to give her the drugs. Until it's completely ruled out that she's not pregnant.
"No, I'm not," Pamela declared. She can't possibly be pregnant with Louis' child again. Even if she's pregnant, she would willingly opt for an abortion.
"Are you sure?" Alice asked and Pamela nodded. Suddenly Pamela started sobbing. "I lost him, Alice. I lost the man that I love again"
First it was Lucas. Now it's Louis. Maybe she wasn't destined to stay happy with a man. She would fall in love with a man and just at the time they were supposed to be getting married, she would lose him to another woman.
Lucas gave her a ring. He proposed to her and said he loves her. He wants to spend the rest of his life with her. But then, he jilted her and left.
Now Louis. Same thing. He even went a step farther and sealed it with sex. Lucas sealed his own proposal with a kiss but Louis did his, in a more sophisticated way.
"He will be alright again. He is having amnesia. He can't possibly be acting from his real mind. And don't get worked up with his outburst.
Such conditions make patients get depressed. They act irrationally and flare up at the slightest provocation. Please believe in him and his love" Alice coaxed.
"After making love to another woman and getting committed to her?" Pamela demanded. Even if he does, nothing can be alright between them again.
He was free to come around and check on his kids. She won't stop him or take his rights as a father from the kids. That's if they agree to forgive him.
But she, there can't be anything between them again. She's done with him. She would live her life henceforth for herself and her four kids.
"This will pass Pamela. And you will be glad that you stood strong, waiting for his return" Alice persuaded.
