Chapter 27: Chapter 27

"Who is this crazy lousy woman?" The words reverberated in Pamela's ears. Her excitement gradually dissipated, her smile disappeared and her eyes were showing signs of a confused woman.

Louis Hayden doesn't recognize her anymore? No, this cannot be happening. He cannot forget her. He dares not.

Leah was taken aback. She glared at Louis in astonishment. What has happened to her son? What is wrong with his memory?

She hopes he is not suffering from amnesia? He can't possibly forget the woman he claimed to love so much. What is her life going to turn into if Louis couldn't remember who he used to be?

She glanced at him and saw him staring at Pamela in utmost irritation. His eyes were cold and he was feeling furious already.

Ellis didn't say anything but was shocked. His countenance was ashen as well as he wondered if his greatest fear was coming to pass.

The complications that the doctor talked about were getting manifest. If he couldn't remember Pamela, it only means there are also some important things he won't remember as well.

"Louis, it's me Pam.." Pamela was saying when Louis got off from the bed and pulled the drip off his hand angrily. Leah held him, preventing him from taking another step.

"Let go mom. I don't like it when filthy low-life parade themselves around me. Get this stinking woman and her ass off my sight" Louis declared.

That moment Pamela knew things were more complicated than she had thought. Things not in her power to control. Her tears run down her cheeks.

She didn't for once take her eyes away from Louis. The disdain and hatred in his eyes were such that she only saw when he came out of coma the first time and when he forced her to the hospital to get an abortion.

This is not the man who made love to her. Who groaned out in pleasure and promised to love her alone forever. The one who fucked her all night and all morning.

No, he is not the one. This is the old Louis, the ruthless billionaire in Oak city, the one who once divorced her and treated her with disrespect.

"Just leave," Ellis instructed. He cannot think of anything right now. He wants to give Louis some time and see if there's anything he can do to salvage the situation.

"Can't you hear him. Louis detest you and want you out of here" Leah yelled at Pamela. As Pamela gently turned to leave, she turned again and stared back at Louis.

A faint smile appeared on Leah's lips. Looks like she has nothing to be worried or scared about. Things had taken care of themselves.

Pamela glanced back with tears in her eyes. And then walked out. As soon as she shut the door behind her, she placed her back against the wall and went down gradually.

She started sobbing aloud. No, this cannot be happening to her. Louis is the only family and friend she has. If he also is out of her life, will she be a lone ranger in this life?

She felt weak and tired. She was sobbing and sniffling. How can Louis call her some lowlife? How can he not have a vague memory of her?

This is too much for her to bear. She can't take it anymore. Her head swirled and she felt like dying. Isn't death better than the misery that awaits her? What is she going to do now?

She sobbed at the front door to Louis ward. Her nose became sore. Her complexion had turned reddish and her eyes were red and puffy.

Suddenly a hand tapped her by the shoulder. She looked at the fellow standing before her. From the feet, it indicates the person is a female.

She gradually looked up at her and saw it's Alice. She didn't say anything but pulled her onto her feet and placing her hands around Pamela's shoulders, she walked her away from the hospital.

"Don't sob anymore. He will eventually recover and you will have your man back. Just give him sometime and he will be yours again" Alice consoled.

"Who is that woman, and what gave her the right to walk in here? How dare she refer to me as 'my love? The audacity of her" Louis demanded.

Ellis and Leah exchange glances and the latter said "she's not important. You need to rest now and I will call the nurse to fix your drip again" Leah said and gently forced Louis to lie down again.

"What is the condition of the car? I was drunk when I drove" Louis asked. Oh! He shouldn't have driven his car that night. He was unconscious for seven days. He could as well have killed himself that way.

Leah's eyes were wide open. Is he talking about the accident a few years ago? Didn't he remember his life from five years ago? In fact, it's almost six years now.

"You mean the accident you had with your new BMW?" Ellis asked. This cannot be. Louis thought about the accident many years ago?

"Yes. The one it's company delivered two weeks ago. Is it still possible to send it back to the company and swap it with a new one?" Louis replied.

Ellis' forehead went blank.

"Yes baby. Anything is possible. But what is more important right now is getting enough rest. I'll call the doctor at once" Leah declared and quickly disappeared from the ward.

She stepped out and shut the door. She sighed, placed her hand on her chest. It was beating fast and she was panting. This is more than she bargained for.

"Where is my phone? I need to call Romeo" Louis asked.

"He is the only one I have left. I don't have relatives I could call my own. No friends, no family. Louis Hayden is all I have left in this life" Pamela said and sobbed helplessly.

This is too much that she can bear. She's been sobbing too much these last month. First it's her father Freddie. Then her great grandfather. Her grandfather decree and now Louis.

"That isn't the end of the world, Miss Pamela. In every adversity, look through and look deep, you will still find reasons to rejoice.

And that thing that gives you Joy is what you will focus on. Don't say so. You will eventually smile again and this difficult situation that appears insurmountable will vanish away like a midsummer's night dream" Alice pacifies her.

"Before it eventually passes, I would have died, Alice. I want to die now" Pamela sobbed.

"Please don't. I have always been a lonely woman all my life. I need a sister. And if you would, let's be sisters and be there for each other" Alice requested.
