Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Lucas snapped his eyes open hastily. Pamela? Yes, it should be her. She's sobbing or in some kind of distress.

What about Louis Hayden? He can't possibly be around her and leave her to be unhappy. His heart was beating fast and he thought of what to do.

He decided to call Louis' contact but it was switched off. How can Louis switch off his phone? He is a President of a large group with subsidiary companies under him. He can't possibly switch off his phone.

He tried two other private contacts of his and it's the same. He became restless. This is getting more complicated than he thought.

Whatever made Louis' contacts get switched off, that thing was capable of making Pamela sob. Is Louis Hayden alright?

He could call Pamela but choose not to. They are not friends anymore. At least he severed ties with her already. He wished that she would be alright but besides wishes, there isn't anything he can do about it.

She already told him he is not important. He has to keep himself within his limits and boundaries and not poke his nose where it doesn't belong.

He made a silent prayer that Louis shouldn't be in any kind of danger. Otherwise, Pamela Grayson would be devastated. For Pamela's sake and sanity, Louis should be free from harm's way.

Next morning, Pamela came downstairs and went to sit in the garden. She held her phone in her hand. She kept glancing at it at every interval.

Whose call was she expecting, she cannot tell. She would glance at her gate again, hoping that Louis Hayden would drive in.

In city X where Ellis was. He eventually decided to check his chats. He saw a lot of messages from Leah. She said Louis was dying and he should call her as soon as he reads her message.

Ellis' hands shivered. Louis? What is wrong with him? He was alright when last he checked. What happened?

His mood changed, his facial expression was dull. He climbed out of bed. Celina must be expecting him downstairs for breakfast.

He wanted to call Leah. But felt he should call Romeo instead. He would know about everything that is wrong with Louis.

When he called Romeo, the latter told him that President Hayden had fallen into a coma. And it is important that he comes around. A lot of matters that need to be salvaged.

Hearing about his son, Ellis immediately made a decision. He was leaving back to Oak city immediately.

When Ellis descended the stairs, he was with his suitcase and Celina was dazed. Didn't he say he came over to spend a week with them?

"I'm off to Oak city. They've been an emergency" he declared and walked out of the door.

Celina just stood and watched as Ellis left. She told him that the kids and herself have important matters to discuss with him. They haven't even talked about it and he already was returning because of emergency matters?

Oh gosh! He was pushing the kids to their breaking point. They have endured enough and the elastic limit is already being exceeded.

Ellis just drove out of the Mansion when his kids descended the stairs.

"Good morning Mom" Arabella said, walking over and kissing her mom's chin. Celina fakes a smile and kissed her daughter's temple.

"Where is dad?" She asked. They couldn't get to spend the time with their dad the previous day. He assured them that he would be with them for a few days.

"He just left," Celina answered.

"He just did what?" Maxwell asked.

Maxwell is the eldest of the two kids that Ellis has with Celina. He is twenty years old and Arabella is fifteen years old.

"He left for Oak city. He said it was an emergency" Celina explained briefly in a helpless tone.

The next two days, things went as usual. Pamela couldn't endure the pain on her scalp anymore. She was told to come the next day but she completely forgot.

She couldn't touch that part of her skull and she couldn't comb it as well. She looked haggard and unkempt. Going there will avail her an opportunity to ask questions about Louis.

She's Louis' fiancé but then, she's forbidden from stepping her feet in his hospital ward. Her kids as well have been taken staying in the Hayden's Mansion as well.

When Pamela arrived at the hospital, she went to see the Trichologist again. As soon as she glanced at Pamela's hair, she gasped.

"You have allowed the sore to get infected. Don't you feel the pain?" The Trichologist asked, looking away from her hair and stared at Pamela's face through the mirror.

"The pain in my heart hurts more than the pain in my skull. I can only attend to the one that is most painful" Pamela replied.

The Trichologist was silent for a long time. She didn't even ask anything about how she sustained the injury and hair loss except that it shows signs of a violent pulling.

Immediately she took pity on the woman. She sighed. What on earth happened to her, how did she come about it?

Not hearing the Trichologist's response, she asked "What is the best way to treat the sore, now?" Pamela asked.

"I have to cut your hair to baldness!" The response came.
