Chapter 131: Chapter 131

Leah Hayden didn't wait to be told, she simply excused herself and walked out. Pamela and her family need some privacy.

She would check on her again. But at least, she had registered it in her heart that she was sorry for what happened in the past. All she would be doing is follow up on it.

Leah Hayden bowed slightly and walked out. She had hardly crossed the threshold when she sighted a car zoomed in. She didn't look at the car twice when she walked past it.

But she heard a familiar voice, she paused, oh, her mind was playing a prank on her. She heard Alice's voice, calling out to her. She wanted to keep going when she heard the voice again.

This time, it was clearer. This is not her mind. The voice is not playing in her head, she heard it with her ears. It's Alice's voice.

A cold shiver ran through her spine as she turned abruptly to glance at the car that she passed. Was the voice coming from there?

Just then, she saw a woman's beautiful legs, alighting from the car. Leah kept her gaze on the woman and saw a veiled woman fully stepped out, standing straight a few distance from her.

She didn't see the face at that instant, but there's something about the figure, the aura. This woman behind the veil is someone she definitely had known.

Meanwhile, Pamela held her grandpa "Don't leave grandpa. Grandma and you have a lot to talk about. It's about my mother, grandpa. It's about your daughter, the princess of Middletown City" she pleaded.

"Let him leave if he doesn't want to listen to what I have to say. He probably would experience the shock that I went through when he walked out of the door and saw his daughter" Clarion declared, walking back but Tarvan held her wrist and pulled her to face him.

They both stared at each other, Pamela pouted her lips. Why are her grandparents still having a cold fight with each other?

"Go ahead, say whatever you want to say" Tarvan ordered, his voice husky. It's an order from the king in his baritone voice.

Before Clarion could say anything else, they heard a scream and Leah was running as fast her legs could carry her, dashing into the sitting room.

She stumbled at the threshold and Pamela went to help her on her feet, holding her close to herself as the older woman couldn't breathe properly anymore.

"Pam.." that's all Leah could say. She tried pointing at the door but she seemed to have run out of breath and strength as she was panting heavily.

Susana sighed softly and slowly walked towards the Mansion. Her comeback would greatly bring shock to many people. Her bestie couldn't even stand her.

Pamela poured water for Leah and gave her to drink. What the heck is wrong with this woman when suddenly, she thought about her mom.

Tarvan and Clarion paused and stared at Leah, what had she seen? Why did she look so pale like someone who saw a ghost?

Clarion and Pamela exchange glances and the latter nodded "Did you see…" Pamela was going to ask when Leah beat her to it "It's Alice…" she paused and swallowed hard.

"I saw Alice, she's outside" Leah was able to bring herself to say it when a faint smile appeared on Pamela's lips.

She was surprised. Smiling, Pamela was really smiling? It doesn't surprise her that her mom's ghost visited her Mansion? This is unbelievable!

"Relax Mrs Hayden and be calm" Pamela declared and let her sit comfortably, resting her back on the sofa like a frightful child.

Tarvan was quiet, trying to process what Leah just said and how it is related to what Clarion said. Something is fishy about this whole drama with Alice's whereabouts.

Just then, the door opened and a woman walked in, she was still covered with a veil and when Leah saw her again, she couldn't take it, she passed out.

Susana (Alice) saw her father after many years and her tears gave way. Clarion and Pamela already know who is behind the veil but Tarvan didn't know yet.

"Pamela, Leah had fainted!" Alice exclaimed and rushed over to her friend. She lifted her veil and tucked it behind her head and lifted Leah, trying to go out when Tarvan saw her face.

For some seconds, Tarvan was dazed. In splits of seconds, he remembered Pamela told him to be ready for the greatest surprise he'd ever had.

The shock sent her grandma to the hospital and now, Leah's fear that led to her fainting. His wife's words a while ago and Pamela's pleading.

He glanced at her as she carried Leah, but Pamela pulled her back, asking her to place the woman back on the sofa. Alice agreed, not battering words with her daughter.

Tarvan looked on. The resemblance between the two women was spellbinding. Pamela was indeed a miniature of her mother.

He heard her voice and was still processing it in his mind when she unveiled her face. This is his supposed dead daughter! She's alive? This can only mean that Alice's death was not real.

If she could lift Leah, it means she's not dead. Ghosts can't do that. He felt his legs become weak and feeble but he held on, standing firm on his feet.

Pamela had called the servants and told them to take Leah to the hospital. She needs emergency help. She would get in touch with her husband.

Then Alice was relieved. She raised her head and glanced at her parents, particularly her father and her eyes went teary.

Tarvan beckoned to her to get closer and Alice did. When she took a few steps towards her dad, the speechless Tarvan raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

The sound of it echoed through the entire sitting room. Clarion jerked in pain for her daughter and goosebumps rose on her skin.

"Father!!!" Alice cried out, her hand on her chin. Her complexion flushed with redness and her eyes reddened as well. Tears were cascading down her cheeks.

"Dare you to call me father again!" Tarvan blurted out. Does she recognise him as her father? Did she know that and acknowledge that he was her father?

For twenty eight years, she disappeared and they mourned and sobbed each time the thought of her death crossed his mind.

Her mother had held a grudge in her heart against him from the moment she heard Alice died. She only started venting her displeasure against him after he became a King.

And yet, Alice was alive? If she chooses to punish him so because he didn't stand up for her when she became pregnant with Pamela, and decided to fake a death and avoid him.

What about her mother? Clarion's hands were tied back then and she couldn't do anything to help her. She could have just sent an anonymous text, letter or any way possible, a message to her mom and let her know that she's not dead.

But his daughter would not. She laid low for many years and now that he had become an old man, she suddenly appeared again, what for, why now?

"I'm sorry Father!" Alice pleaded, still with teary eyes. She understands his actions, she deserved more than a slap. She deserved a more severe punishment.

"I am not your father, Alice. I have no such daughter like you. You are causing a menace and a nuisance to me" Tarvan thundered.

"Tarvan" Clarion stepped in. She know exactly how he was feeling. She also felt that way when she realised what the heck Alice had made them go through.

He was hurt, yes. But that isn't the end of the story. He is surprised, yes. But he should calm down and not act irrationally. Thank goodness that eventually, their daughter is back to them.

Her old age is blessed. The taunting of barrenness wouldn't hurt her anymore. More than everyone present, she's the happiest one.

"Don't you call me by my first name ever again, I told you that before right?" Tarvan snapped at her. He glared at her and the pain of her accusations burned within him like fire.

She accused him wrongly and called him Alice's murderer. She said she hates him because he was responsible for her death. She wanted a divorce with him and he'd already done it.

"I've been vindicated now, right? Your accusations and hatred for me has found non bases to swirl around in your heart and mind.

I'm glad you have your daughter now. I'm free. You can stay happy with her and I find great relief that your stupid daughter returned.

I already did what you wanted and I signed the divorce papers. My lawyer will let you have it. And finally after twenty eight years, I can live the rest of my life in peace" Tarvan declared.

"Father!" Alice blurted

"Grandfather!!" Pamela exclaimed.
