Chapter 124: Chapter 124

There was silence that followed. Neither Ellis nor his son replied. Leah didn't know what the argument was all about but simply asked about the two names she heard her son mentioned.

Are they new employees or what does Louis meant when he said Ellis already had them? He went ahead and employed such people when Louis couldn't remember the past?

Ellis glared at his son with pleading eyes. Louis shouldn't expose his best kept secret. If Louis can just be quiet, he would be grateful to him.

Louis glanced at his mother. She looked so remorseful, her eyes welled up with tears as she stared back at him. He looked away.

He loves and cares a great deal about his mother. He would have taken the case up with his father for cheating on her. She deserved to be treated fairly and with dignity.

But the role she played in his love life, he cannot forget quickly. She hurt Pamela too much and pushed him to the point where he reached with Miranda.

"What do you want in my office, Mrs Leah, Mom?" Louis snorted. He stretched the word "Mom" in a sarcastic tone that indicates he was deliberate, trying to provoke her.

Leah's tears dropped. She doesn't care anymore about Maxwell and Arabella. Knowing who those duo are meant nothing to her at the moment.

What she cares about the most is her son's feelings for her. How can she make Louis forgive her? How can he find the heart to put the past behind him?

He's her son, the only child she'd got. What will her end be if Louis carried out his threat? He said he had ceased from being her son.

He severed ties with her. Ellis didn't step in to plead with Louis to change his abrupt decision. How can her son disowned her as his mother?

She's ready to crawl, to do anything to help get things straightened out between himself and Pamela. She's ready to pay for her sins in some other way besides the price tag that Louis attached to it.

"Baby, I missed you," Leah confessed through teary eyes. She took a few steps towards her son and raised her hand to caress his bearded face when Louis turned his face away.

"I don't want you anywhere around me. You remind me of your evilness Mrs Leah Hayden. As much as I try to keep the last bit of respect I have for you, please keep your distance" Louis declared and walked towards the door.

He would leave the office immediately. He can't stand it seeing her teary eyes. It's best he leaves her standing before her husband.

But Leah's words made Louis pause in his track "you can't keep me away from your life, Louis. I am your mother and I gave birth to you.

I haven't for a single day loved you less. I loved you and I was ready to die in the face of great threats. Why would you treat me like this, Louis?

Besides forcing Miranda Alvan down your throat, have I in any way hurt you? Whatever you want, I am willing to do to pay for my sins, but definitely not this way you are threatening me, Louis"

Louis turned abruptly and stood before his Mom "What do you want from me now, tell me mom? You have pushed me to this emptiness.

Pamela hates me now. You know how much I loved her, she's the only woman who had successfully won my heart. I love that woman very much.

But what did you do? You strained our relationship. You pushed Miranda Alvan to me knowing I couldn't remember anything at the moment. Why did you do it?

I lost her to another man. I am getting divorced from Miranda Alvan. Her baby Isabella is not mine. And my own kids, I can't bring them to live with me.

Even my son Ethan, I can't hold him in my hands and cuddle him to sleep. I feel lost and empty. I am a failure. I failed in the most important relationship of my life.

I failed as a father. I have never been there when my children were born. What kind of a man and father am I,Mom?" He bellowed, his eyes going red.

Leah was now sobbing. Everything Louis said was true. She's the reason he had become like this. He is indeed empty.

"I'm sorry. Forgive Me baby, please forgive me. I will make it good. I will go back to apologise to Pamela. I will try my best to bring her back to you" Leah pleaded.

"It's late. Pamela is with someone else. I won't be interested in sharing a relationship with her anymore. I still love her very much but we've really parted" Louis explained, sighing helplessly.

That night, There was a heated argument between Tarvan and Clarion. The two grandparents were exchanging words and Pamela was forced to step out of her room.

She wondered what would make her grandparents mad with each that they quarrel so much. Her grandfather arrived that day and by evening, there was an argument.

Pamela came to their bedroom door and wanted to push it open when the words from her grandma left her hand suspended midair…
