Leah asked in a frosty stare. She remembered telling that spoiled rich bitch to stay away from her son. How dare she take a bolder step by getting more intimate with Louis?
"She lives here now. Is there a problem?" Louis asked, pretending to notice the resentment in his mother's voice. She hasn't said a word to him. She's only talked with Pamela and he would pretend not to know a thing.
"As what, the kids' mother or what?" She demanded. She was not hiding her resentment and Louis couldn't help but put the pretends away now.
"Kids, go upstairs. The adults want to talk" Louis declared and kissed their temple. The kids nodded, hugged their grandparents and giggled away.
"As my fiance. Where else could she be if not with me?" Louis asked as soon as the kids left. He needed to stand in defence of the woman he loves. It's a test of true love.
"What is wrong with you,Louis? How can you think of being with a woman like Pamela?" Leah asked, expressing her unhappiness.
"Leah, what is wrong, why can't Louis and Pamela be together? They have kids and they can live together to raise their children. And besides, they are in love with each other" Ellis interrupted.
Leah was taken aback. Has Ellis soon forgotten what that woman made them go through, how she almost ruined Louis and destroyed the cooperation. And he doesn't seem to see that his son was on the wrong track with that woman?
"Everything is wrong, Ellis. Pamela is a woman with different personalities and her toxic nature is not something any of us can tolerate. I don't think she's the right woman for Louis" Leah seethed.
"Mum, Pamela and I are in love with each other and…" Louis was saying when they suddenly heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Without glancing back, Louis knew Pamela had come downstairs and paused.
Leah and Ellis glanced towards the stairs and saw the elegant Pamela descending the stairs with graceful steps. She looked gorgeous in her peplum blouse on her pants.
Her hair was made into a bun and her makeup mild and befitting. Her lips painted red and her diamond jewelleries glitters. She looked pretty and attractive.
Her handbag was a designer, matching the high heels she wore. As soon as she saw Louis' parents, her heart beat faster. Ellis glared at her with admiration but Leah, her stare was filled with hostility.
Louis gently turned and saw his future wife and smiled. She looked splendid and gracious and Louis felt impressed with her looks. She's indeed worthy to be his bride.
"Hello Mom, dad," Pamela chimed. She went over and hugged Ellis and the latter smiled, impressed at her glamorous looks. He cupped her face and asked "How are you doing, daughter Pamela?"
"I'm fine, father," Pamela chimed. She turned and smiled towards Leah, she wanted to hug her when the latter raised her hand to stop her.
Leah's stare was hostile towards Pamela. It seemed like she had successfully won Louis' heart and her husband. But she's not going to let her get her way.
"I don't know how you did it or how you walked your way into Louis' heart, but stop it. No matter how Louis is by your side and Ellis supporting you both, I will never allow you to be with my son.
I already told you to stay away from my family. I do not dispute the fact that you are the mother to Louis' kids, but besides being his kids' mother, I don't want you close to him or Hayden's family as a whole" Leah snapped at him.
Pamela's eyes went moist. She's been sobbing after the news of her great grandfather's death, but only cheered up to go for her wedding with Louis. Now, her emotions took over again and she started sobbing.
"I know I stepped on your toes. On Father's and Louis' toes as well. But I'm sorry, mother. Please forgive me. I want you to find a place in your heart and forgive me.
I can't live without Louis anymore. I love him and he loves me too. Please give us your blessings,mother. Being with Louis and the kids is the greatest thing that I want in my life now, please give me another chance to be your daughter in-law" Pamela pleaded.
Louis crossed his hand around Pamela's waist and said "Pamela and I are in love. We want to get married again and build a complete home with our kids. Please don't say no, mom"
"I don't hate Pamela. She's my friend's daughter and invariably shares ties with me. But Pamela is a toxic woman in nature and temperamental. You won't be able to live happily with her, why can't you understand me?" Leah complained.
"Then let Louis decide that, Leah. Don't interfere in their love life and don't try to ruin Louis' chance of being with the woman he loves. Stay away and leave them alone" Ellis declared.
This is the first time his son was really in love with a woman. Why would his mother try to ruin his happiness? And the good news is that he's in love with his ex wife. Isn't that perfect enough!
"I will listen to you on every Matter, but this is about Louis' happiness. He is my son and the only thing I want for him in this life is to be happy and fulfilled. And that happiness does not lie with Pamela, being by his side" Leah snapped at her husband.
"Dad, mom, please don't argue with each other. Actually, Pamela and I are getting married today and I would appreciate it if you can be our witnesses and give us your blessings" Louis announced, his gaze fixed on his mom with an expressionless face.
"What!" Leah exclaimed.
"Yeah, mom," Louis Hayden nodded.
Leah glared at her husband and then her son before resting her gaze on Pamela. "I'd rather choose death over life rather than seeing you both married again" Leah bellowed.
"Leah..!"Ellis exclaimed in fury.
