Chapter 75: Chapter 75

Shravan was furious; he felt betrayed by both his wife and sister. They had kept something very important a secret from him for five years. When he woke up in the morning, he found himself alone in bed. Drishti hadn't come to their room the previous night, and he had no intention of going after her to convince her otherwise.

As he walked out of the bedroom, ready for the day, he discovered Drishti and Shreya engaged in a serious conversation in the living room. Little Dhruv was lying on a rug, playing with his toys. Ignoring the two women, Shravan gathered his son in his arms and dropped an affectionate kiss on his head.

"Bhai..." Shreya called out softly. Shravan shot her a look and turned away, walking towards the main door. Drishti huffed in annoyance, seeing that Shravan didn't even spare her a single glance. How dare he?

"I have never seen him this furious before," Shreya said anxiously.

"Did you call Siddhu?" Drishti asked.

"Yes, he is hurt. Bhai punched him hard," Shreya replied, tears welling up in her eyes.

Drishti sighed. "Let me call and talk to him," Drishti said, dialling Siddhu's phone number.

Siddhu picked up on the second ring. "Don't kill me, D. Your name just slipped out of my mouth," Siddhu said as soon as he answered the call, and Drishti rolled her eyes.

“Well, there is no point in crying over spilt milk, is there?” Drishti asked sarcastically.

“No, there isn’t. But we need to sort it out. Did you talk to him? Is he angry with you?” Siddhu asked, and Drishti huffed in annoyance.

“He accused me of betraying him. He didn’t talk to me. And I didn’t want to talk to him either,” Drishti said angrily. She couldn’t believe he hadn’t talked to her even after staying away for a whole night. Whenever they had a fight, it was Shravan who always talked first. And she had expected the same last night. But much to her shock, he didn’t come after her. How dare he?

“Drishti, we wronged him,” Siddhu said in a calm tone, making Drishti frown.

“You are supporting him over me?” Drishti asked.

“This is not about you and him, Drishti. This is more than that. This is not a silly marital fight between you two. This involves other people. And think from Shravan bhai’s side. You two are supposed to prioritise each other. How would you feel if Shravan bhai kept a secret of Damini from you?” Siddhu asked.

“He will not,” Drishti snapped, without thinking.

“Exactly. He will not. And he would have expected the same from you. It was a shock for him to see us that way last night. And to add on the injury, I blurted out that you are in the loop. We can’t blame him for feeling betrayed. We kept a secret from him for five years,” Siddhu said, and Drishti felt guilty.

If it were anyone else, other than Siddhu, who was in a relationship with Shreya, she would have definitely informed Shravan of the same. But it was her best friend, and she thought she could get away with this one thing. Nobody had expected Shravan to find out like this.

“You are right,” Drishti said softly.

“Talk to him, Drishti,” Siddhu said.

“You too. Talk to him. He will understand,” Drishti said.

“I know. He is angry now. Once he calms down and thinks about it, he will definitely understand. Abhi bhai will talk to him today. I called him and told him everything this morning. He had to cut short his vacation and come back,” Siddhu said in regret.

“I will talk to him when he comes home tonight,” Drishti said and hung up the call.

“Bhabhi... How is he?” Shreya asked.

“He is fine. Don’t worry about it. Shreya, you take Dhruv and go to Mithran’s house by evening. I want to have a private talk with Shravan. There are chances of an outburst, and I want you two out of earshot. We will come and pick you up by ten. I will let Chaahat know of the plan,” Drishti said, and Shreya nodded, agreeing to her plan.

Abhay walked into Shravan’s cabin. Abhay looked worried. Mithran, who saw a worried Abhay walking into Shravan’s cabin, followed him there.

“Shravan,” Abhay called out softly.

“Don’t tell me even if you know. I won’t be able to take another blow today,” Shravan said with a tired sigh.

“I didn’t know the whole story until this morning. A couple of days ago, Siddhu expressed his wish to our parents. I didn’t know any details,” Abhay said, and Shravan sighed in relief.

“What are you guys talking about?” Mithran asked in confusion. He couldn’t find the head or tail of their conversation.

“Siddhu and Shreya, it seems that, were in love with each other for the past five years!” Abhay said.

“Five years? Damn!” Mithran murmured under his breath in disbelief. How the hell did they manage to keep it a secret for five years?

“What’s the problem now, Shravan? We know Siddhu. He is a good guy. Good family background. He took his position in their company. We have known him for more than ten years now. He is a good match for Shreya, isn’t he?” Mithran asked, and Shravan sighed.

Mithran was right. He was just hurt and angry at their betrayal.

“Drishti knew it. And she hid it from me,” Shravan said.

“Ah! That’s the main issue. This is not only about Shreya but also about Siddhu. Their friendship, we all know how deep and strong it is. I am not supporting her or anything. She should have told you. I would be angry if Chaahat does the same. But don’t let this make a crack in your relationship,” Mithran said.

“Well, I am not going to go behind her like always. She is wrong, and she should make it up,” Shravan said adamantly, and his friends simply shrugged.

“We will be travelling to Mumbai soon. To your home. We aren’t delaying anymore,” Abhay said, and Shravan nodded his head.

“I will give my parents a hint. Let’s not give them a shock, like your brother and my sister gave me,” Shravan said, and his friends laughed at his disgruntled look.
