Chapter 179: Chapter 179

I was anxious as Mildred was doing my hair while Helion was waiting for me downstairs, as we are going to the empress’s palace today.

"Are you okay?" Helion asked as I went downstairs.

"I’m a little bit anxious." I said as my hands started sweating.

Helion took my hands as if he was calming me as we began walking our way to the empress’s palace.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by the empress palace’s maids, who were all lining the front door.

They all greeted as they bowed their heads.

Helion and I just nodded at them to acknowledge their presence.

"Her Majesty and His Majesty were already waiting for you in the garden," said the headmaid, as I remembered always seeing her beside the empress.

"Let’s go." Helion said as he looked at me while he was still holding my hand.

I nodded at him and I could feel my heart racing every step we made through the garden.

The empress shouted as soon as she saw us and rushed to Helion who looked glad to see his mother was fine.

"Mother," Helion said as he hugged his mother.

"Crown princess..." I looked beside me and saw that it was the emperor who called me.

"Your Majesty." I said as I curtsied at the emperor, who looked at me.

"You should start calling me father too," he said, which made me look at him.

Before I could even answer, the emperor burst out laughing.

"I should wait for Arthur’s reaction when he hears you calling me Father," he said as he looked at me while he was chuckling.

"Let’s have a seat here," he said as he guided me to the chair that was for me. I looked back and saw that Helion was still talking to his mother.

His Majesty and I were sitting when I felt someone was watching me behind my back and there I saw that the empress was looking at me while still talking to Helion.

When she saw that I caught her looking at me, she looked away, and I saw Helion turning his back and meeting my gaze.

Helion smiled at me before looking at his mother again, who seems to be uneasy.

Is it because I am here?

Is my presence making her feel uncomfortable?

I looked at Helion who was now guiding his mother to where the emperor and I were already settled.

The empress seemed to be avoiding my gaze as we started eating the breakfast together.

The place was so quiet that you could hear the birds chirping all over the place.

"You should eat more."

I looked up when someone put some meat and fruit on my plate and there I saw it was Helion.

I took the meat that he put out and ate it.

We were now drinking some tea, having just finished eating our breakfast, when Helion broke the silence.

"Father, don’t you think we had something important to talk about?"

Helion said as he looked at the emperor, who frowned at what he just said. Get full chapters from novel-fire.ɴet

"Do we?" The emperor said as he looked confused at what the latter said.

Helion looked at his father, as I can see and seems like he was giving him some signals.

"Ahh, the one that you told me last night?"

The emperor said as he nodded at what Helion was signaling him.

I know what they were trying to do.

They were trying to make the empress and me talk to each other.

I look at Helion when he stands up from where he was sitting at the same time as the emperor stands from his own chair.

Helion looked at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

He said as he smiled at me while he turned to his father and mother before they left.

I sighed as we were left alone and all I could hear was the eerie sound of silence.

The empress was the one who broke the silence between us, which made me look at her.

"I heard what you did for me from my son and husband."

She said in a low voice, which is new, as she was always talking to me insultingly or most of the time she was shouting and raising her voice at me.

I saw her sigh at what she said and look at me.

"I wanted to ask for forgiveness for everything that I have done to you."

She said, which made me surprised; gone was the arrogant Empress that I used to know; all I could see was a woman who was sincere in what she was saying.

"I know what I did to you was not forgivable. I’ve been blind and deaf to everything and only see you as the way you were painted by Lord Abellarde in my mind the night that I saw you pushing Noraya," she said as she was asking for my forgiveness.

"What you did and said has already scarred my heart Your Majesty..."

I said as I could still remember every single words that she said to me in the past.

"Most of them are degrading my worth as my mother’s daughter."

I continued and I saw her sigh deeply at what I said.

"I know I am wrong, and I know it was too late for me to ask for your forgiveness."

She said as she smiled sadly at me like she already knew that I won’t forgive her for what she did, but I am not yet done talking.

"I plan to stay away from your son, you know?"

I asked as I smiled bitterly at what I said.

"I always thought that it was good for him to stay away from me; the more he entangled himself with me, the more his life would be endangered, and I don’t want to lose him for the second time."

I continued as I remembered our past life being Solaia and Dromonos.

"What do you mean for the second time?"

The empress asked as she looked at me while her eyes were full of curiosity at what I just said.

I looked around first and set up some barriers so no one will know about what we’re going to talk about.

"The story I am going to tell you is your world’s history."

I said as I started talking to her about what happened in the past and the empress was just listening to me the whole time while she looked shocked at what she was hearing from me.

As I finished telling her what happened, I saw tears streaming down from her face.

"That’s why no matter what you said and did in the past for the sake of the man I love and for bringing him to this world, I forgive you."

I said as I smiled at her, which made her look at me while the tears were still streaming from her cheeks.

"Thank you for forgiveness, Lady Acantha, and for always helping us, but I am still shocked at what you said."

She said as she was still looking shocked.

"I know what I said was shocking..." I said as I looked at her.

"Helion and my fate are bound from the moment he bound it before he died, sacrificing his life for me."

I only learned about all of them when I gained my memory; that’s why I tried avoiding him when I got back.

She said as she looked sad at what she heard from me about Noraya.

I know that the empress loves Noraya as her own, as she was the same age as the dead princess.

"Noraya’s already dead... She died when she was still in her mother’s womb."

I said as I looked at her, which made her more shocked.

"But Baron Abellarde offered his own daughter to Abanoon to be hers, but the baron was deceived. He thought that Abanoon resurrected the Noraya but she put someone’s soul in her body to avoid making it rot and she promises him richness and the North."

I said as I feel pity for Noraya.

She should have her peace, but the people who were greedy used her body as a vessel and didn’t rest her.

"Abanoon wanted that her body..."

I said as I looked at the empress, who looked at me.

She asked as she looked at me, waiting for answers.

"Noraya’s body has a divine power from the blessed blood of Klartis.

"That divine power will help Abanoon from healing herself whenever she is wounded, and mostly... she needs it to heal her own soul that is slowly fading the more she stays being just a soul without a body."

I said as I sighed at what my twin sister did.

The empress nodded at what I said and she still looked shocked, but she was now calmer than a while ago. I lift the barriers out as I can feel the two familiar energies.

We just sat there and continued eating when the two men went back again.

I don’t know why but somehow, i feel relieved knowing that I don’t have any burdens in my chest now.

I know this is a new start, and we will take it step-by-step.
