Chapter 178: Chapter 178

I sighed as I looked at them, who were still denying everything that I said about Abanoon’s lies.

I look at Flamear, who was still looking at the people in front of us.

"Flamear..." I said, which made him look my way.

Flamear nodded at me as his eyes brightened again, and the noblemen who were there in front of them had the same in their eyes.

He is going to show them who Abanoon really is.

I looked at them as they gasped as they were watching Abanoon, who never ever fulfilled her own promises to people and even to me in the past.

After they watch what kind of a person Abanoon is, they are all not moving and not even blinking while their minds seem to be far away.

"All of you will be facing the death penalty for betraying your own empire and selling your own people for your own greed for power and wealth." the emperor said as he looked at them, which made the noblemen, who were once officials of this empire, gasp at what they heard.

The emperor looked at them as he shook his head at them.

"I had been lenient to all of you, so you have the face to stab me in my back, Lord Abellarde. I had been hearing all this time about you selling some fake mana stone that causes people to die and become some experiment in Tenebrisaya." the emperor said before he looked at us and nodded as a signal that we should leave, as their families were still waiting for his edict to them.

---------------------

The families of the officials who were imprisoned and sentenced to death and who were caught fleeing from the empire early in the morning were all kneeling in front of them.

"His Majesty the emperor has given you mercy even though the heads of your families have been sentenced to death as a penalty for betraying their own people and empire. The emperor has made a decision that only those who were involved will be punished severely and as for their families, they shall be stripped of their titles and will live as commoners; the house and wealth of each house will be seized, as it came from the blood of the people in the empire that they betrayed." Gineo said as he nodded at the emperor after he read the edicts for the families who were involved.

I looked at them and saw some familiar ladies, especially the ladies from Dorkinya’s house and the Di Santris.

I saw Lady Dorkinya and the two ladies from the Di Santris were glaring at me while they were bowing their heads. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on novel⚑fire.net

"Are you happy now?" she said when they were about to leave.

"Yes, are you happy? This is all your fault!" said Lady Di Santris, who was even crossing her arms as she held her head high.

"And why do you think I am that heartless? If there’s someone to blame, it’s your father and your families," I said as I gave them a cold stare.

I was alone now in the door where I was about to talk to the emperor of Tenebrisaya and was waiting for Helion, who was called by his father along with my own father.

Flamear also went to the north to check the securities there and look out for the fairies, as he received a message from Elida, which makes me bothered too.

I tried looking for Abanoon everywhere, but it seems like she also put up some barrier so that no one could track her or find her.

Lady Abellarde had already informed me that Paul was willing to work with her, but he still couldn’t betray the master who raised him when he didn’t have any family left in the past.

I know that; I was there when Abanoon rescued him. Paul has great mana in his own body. But sadly, back then humans still couldn’t use magic.

Abanoon took pity on the child and said she would raise him, as she and he had the same fate.

I thought she would change because of Paul, but no, she teaches him dark magic and makes him immortal like them, and that was a big no for their realm.

That’s why Saeries confronted her, and she killed her.

She killed Saeries but also got cursed because of the dagger that she owns.

I looked at the door when it opened, and there was Helion walking in.

"Have you been waiting for so long?" Helion asked as he looked at me.

"Not really," I said as I shook my head at him.

Helion looked at me and pulled me closer to him and gave me a kiss on my lips, which made me stiffen.

Ever since we got married, he has become sweet and caring to me.

"Let’s go," he said as he held my hand, and I nodded to him as we began entering the room where Sullaivan was.

When we entered the room, the place rather looked gloomy and dark, which suited for a prisoner who was like him, but unlike the other cell, Sullaivan’s prison cell was restricted with a much stronger barrier and restriction for him to be unable to use his power to free himself from the place.

Sullaivan raises his head as soon as he hears our footsteps.

"What do I owe you for coming here?" he said as he greeted us with his smirk.

"Tell us where Abanoon and the others were hiding," Helion said as he let my hand go and walked to where Sullaivan was.

"And why do you think I will tell you that?" Sullaivan said as he looked at Helion as he smirked again.

Helion went closer to Sullaivan and grabbed him by his collar.

I walk closer to them to make Helion stop, as the more he uses violence against the latter, the more it won’t tell them where Abanoon is hiding right now.

I walked closer to Sullaivan and looked straight in his eyes.

If he won’t tell, then—

I tried using reading his mind but it seems like the others; I also can’t read his mind, and it must have been Abanoon.

"I can’t read his mind." I said as I shook my head at Helion who looks at me worriedly.

"It seems like Abanoon did the same thing to him just like what she did to the others." I said as I look at Helion was also looking at me.

"Lady Acantha, you’re really more beautiful than your portrait in my palace."

Sullaivan said as he looked at me and even wetted his lips.

"Stop looking at my wife like that!" Helion said as he slapped Sullaivan at the back of his neck, which made the latter lose consciousness.

Helion and I both left the place and we went straight to where the Emperor is.

"Have you got any from Sullaivan?" the emepror asked and we both shook our heads.

"It seems like Abanoon put some restrictions on her people when it comes to their minds." I said as I looked at the emperor as I sighed.

"It seems like all we could do is to wait for Paul to be on our side," the emperor said as he looked at us.

"By the way... Your mother wanted to see the two of you," the emperor said, which made me stiffen.

I almost forgot about the empress.

How stupid I am for forgetting one of the important things.

I know how she disliked me even before she was possessed by Lamiama, who is now in her possession.

She and Gamon must still be quarreling inside the jar where she puts the two of them.

I was still in deep thoughts as we got out from the room where the emperor is when suddenly Helion took my hand, which made us stop from walking.

"Are you all right?" he asked as he looked at me again worriedly.

"Yeah..." I answered as I sighed deeply and I can see Helion looks at me.

"Mother won’t do anything, not when we’re already married," he said as he looked at me as he was trying to make things lighter.

"I already expected and anticipated it already the moment I agreed to marry you; I already knew that the empress and I would cross paths together here." I said as I look at him, assuring him that I was fine.

We took a stroll that afternoon and we ate dinner together in my palace, as we are going to sleep there.

But I couldn’t sleep that night; I was trying to get myself ready for whatever insults I may receive from the empress tomorrow.

I looked beside me and saw that Helion was already in his deep sleep, as I could even hear how deep his breath was.

He has been working a lot these past few days capturing those traitors and trying to find Abanoon’s whereabouts.

I close my eyes and try to sleep.
