" Why are they looking for me? " I asked them nervously . But they're so engrossed in their talks that they didn't hear me.

"Why me-" I tried to intervene again

"She's mine. They can fuck themselves." Alex stopped me off while squeezing my waist . James chuckled seeing his reaction.

"But you do know that they'd be attending the party tomorrow ? They will look for her." James played with his hair as Alex looked at me before replying him.

"She'll be safe with me! ." Alex assured him. "I'll watch her tomorrow." His voice barely audible, but still it caused butterflies in my stomach, my heart actually skip a beat. Is he really worried about me? And why is the mendez family looking for me? Why do they want me? I am a mere human.

"Alex, I-"

"Go to your room and sleep. " Alex said in a harsh tone causing me to shrug his hand away. " Good night " I mumbled to them and walked to my room.

I stared at the elegant, short, royal blue lace up dress . It's so beautiful and really nice. I wore it and looked myself in a mirror. The party is happening annually so that the vampires and humans can get along every once in a while. I combed my loosened hair a few times and got out to attend the party. I stopped in the middle of the hallway when I saw David, Franklin, Joey and Danny waiting near the staircase.

"Be careful tonight." David mumbled, tugging on his suit and I nodded hesitantly. The Mendez family will also be here. I still couldn't comprehend what they want from me. I never had any trouble with any vampire before.

As I entered the lawn where the party is taking place, my anxiety increased seeing the number of people. People were dancing to the music, enjoying the night unlike me . Diana,Hannah and Kristen ar as usual flirting with other vampires. I took a deep breath before making my way to the appetizer table.

"Have a drink, madame." A butler said politely holding two glasses of wine.

"She won't be drinking tonight," David told the butler as I raised a brow before taking a glass from the butler.

" What a great thing to do! " David mocked but I just rolled my eyes while taking a sip .

"When did you become my personal body guard ?" I asked while looking around cautiously.

"I was always there to save you. Remember?" he grinned and I scoffed at him before smiling at him. "Do you know why they're looking for you?" David asked and I shook my head as in no. I have no idea why they want me.

"Maybe they're after my blood ." I murmured, my hands began to tremble.

"Your blood is special but they doesn't know about it. " David trailed off as he fixed his attire. He looks great in armani suit.

"I'll be back, don't go around. Stay here." He told me firmly before he walked away. Suddenly the girls begin to squeal and I heard cheers all around. In came the one and only Alexander ivanov. He looks ravishingly hot in his black suit that fitted him perfectly. I gulped softly when the music changed to a slower one. Girls started surrounding him like pests . He let out a frustrated sigh while looking around. My heart skipped a beat when his gaze landed on me . I turned away as my hands begin to tremble. Why I am trembling? What's this weird feeling I get around Alex?

"Dance with me." Alex appeared in front of me causing me jump in shock before taking a step backwards.

"I-I don't know how to dance!" I blabbered out the thing that came to my mind ignoring the death glares from the lot of girls.

"It's fine." Alex mumbled, taking my hand and I froze in my position, refusing to go along with his offer. Alex took a step forward and dragged me along with him. We started to dance and the girls went their way.

"Did anyone talk to you?" he asked, leaning closer to my ears , I shook my head. "Good, stay close to me tonight. Don't go alone." He said with a concern shocking me to a extent that I could only nod.

"Rina, look at me" He said as I avoid looking at him. He gently grabbed my chin and lifted my face so that our eyes met.

There is something different about the way he was looking at me. There was no anger or hatred in his eyes anymore, just a bunch of unknown emotions . He leaned closer and his lips are inches away from mine when a voice interrupted us, causing me to sigh in relief. Does he about to kiss me? In front of all these people?!

"James is looking for you." David said . Alex nodded at him and turned towards me.

"Stay here, I won't be long." He said to me again before they both went inside the mansion. As soon as I turned around, I came face to face with Elena and Mary. That's comfortable enough for me.

Some girls came to me and argued about my approximity with Alex . Luckily Joey intervened along with Elena.

"Th-thank you..." I managed to mumble and gasped when David wrapped an arm around my shoulders before pulling me closer to him.

"Of course, let's kiss now." He said as he leaned in before Alex roughly pushed him away from me.

"Stop acting all clingy around her!" Alex hissed and I stared at him in surprise.

"You're just jealous!" David shot back and I couldn't help but chuckle at their behavior.

" Rina, come let's go there." Alex said as he led me away from the lawn. We are near the pillar in front of the mansion gates.

"What happened? Are they here?" I asked softly "no. But It's safe in here." He said, pushing me to the pillar and trapped me with his arms.

"Can you tell me about the Mendez.." before I could finish, he grabbed my cheeks and leaned in for a kiss. He deepened the kiss and I couldn't do anything but wait for a while. Not that I like it but I am used to it by now.

"Alex," I pulled away as I watched him slightly flinch at my reaction before turning away.

"Sorr-" I tried to apologize but someone beat me to it.

"Well, well still the same Alex?" A familiar voice came from behind and we both turned to watch Terry walk towards us, making my jaws drop open. I looked at him in utter shock then I turned towards Alex . I was about to explain the whole thing that happened between Terry and me but stopped on seeing Alex getting furious. Both Alex and Terry are looking at each other with hatred and pure agony. Their starring battle went on for a while until Terry laughed causing me to panic.

"What the hell are you doing here, Terry?" Alex asked angrily as Terry fake gasped and stepped back as if he got scared. " Hi, sweetheart " Terry winked at me. Alex snapped at him. I need to stop them from fighting.

"Terry, get the hell out of here!" I angrily snapped at Terry . Alex looked at me in disbelief.

"You know him. But Ho-how do you know him?" Alex stuttered for the first time after that nightmare . He hold my wrist little too tightly as I winced in pain. Before I could say anything, Terry beat me off.

"Oh, sweetheart don't worry about it,Alex, she's been seeing me for quite a while now." Terry said calmly. Wow, so, they know each other?! But How?!

"Get the fuck out of here .i will not hesitate to kill you. !" Alex spoke with so much hatred and anger that I took a step back due to fear. What the hell is happening here?

"I am not here for you. But for her,mate." Terry said in a sing song tone . He was so confident and ignorant. Did he forgot who he is talking to? Alexander Ivanov.

"You have some fucking nerve to come to my place," Alex spoke coldly "and trying to take what's rightfully mine!" he finished off with a growl . I fought back the tears as the tension clouded around us . Just where the hell David and the other guys are?

"Ah, but you forgot something. She's not even yours," Terry said as they come face to face . "You cannot claim her as yours. After all, you didn't even feed off her or mark her yet." He chuckled deeply, sending shivers down my spine. He is looking for trouble. What the hell he talking about?!

" leave." Alex warned but Terry sighed again.

"I am leaving now. I came to see her before I can claim her as mine." Terry stated while waving at me. " Bye sweetheart, until we meet again " Terry said to me. Before I could ask him anything, Terry disappeared. Now Alex and me are the only ones in the place. I gulped in fear.

"You," his eyes now dark blue in anger spoke with such hate and venom in his words.

"Have some fucking explaining to do,Rina." With that said, he dragged out inside the palace. We are in his room within no time.
