Chapter 267: Chapter 267
Jude Sinclair noticed the situation and tugged on Camille White’s sleeve with his tiny hand, "Third Brother, why did you tell him?"
"Even if I didn’t tell him, wouldn’t he still find out?" Camille White was a bit helpless. With Desmond Fairchild’s abilities, would it really be that hard to find out this much?
Instead of going through all the trouble to hide it, it would be better to just tell the truth.
Even though Jude understood this logic, he was still very unhappy.
He directly reached out and gave Desmond Fairchild a push, his small face fell, and he said coldly, "It doesn’t matter whether the baby mom is carrying is yours or not, you’re not welcome here. Thank you for bringing us back today, you can leave now."
"I’ll leave once she wakes up." Desmond Fairchild knew he couldn’t stay here much longer. Although there was much he wanted to say and do, now was not the time.
"You’d better leave now, mom will only get angrier if she sees you." Seeing his look, Jude Sinclair couldn’t help but feel a bit sympathetic.
Camille White agreed, "The fetus is unstable now, if she wakes up and sees you, it’ll cause her emotions to fluctuate and affect the baby’s development."
In the grand scheme of things, the child is the most important.
Desmond Fairchild gazed deeply at Seraphina Sinclair’s face, with reluctance in his eyes almost spilling out. However, when he lifted his head, all Jude Sinclair saw was endless coldness.
He said barely a word more before disappearing from Jude Sinclair’s sight.
Once he left, Jude Sinclair pouted in dissatisfaction, "What kind of father is this! It’s a good thing mom hasn’t married him, or we’d be at a big loss."
"Don’t disturb your godmother’s rest, let’s talk outside." Noticing that the sleeping Seraphina Sinclair frowned, Camille White made a gesture to hush and led Jude Sinclair out of the room.
It wasn’t long before Seraphina Sinclair woke up from anesthesia.
She hurriedly reached out to touch her belly, and upon feeling the bulge in her lower abdomen, she finally sighed in relief.
As long as the baby was okay, that was what mattered.
After waking, Seraphina felt a little weak. She didn’t get up but continued lying on the bed like a corpse.
It was Desmond Fairchild who brought her back at noon, right?
How ridiculous, every time they said they’d never meet again, they always somehow crossed paths.
Thinking of Desmond Fairchild, Seraphina suddenly sat up, slid on her slippers, and pattered downstairs.
Clenching her fists nervously, she looked at Camille White for a long time before blurting out, "You didn’t tell him whose the child was, did you?"
"He already knows." Camille White spread his hands, feeling there was no other choice. With Seraphina Sinclair’s pregnancy showing, how could it be kept a secret anyway?
Seraphina regretfully patted her forehead, "That was a misstep. Now that he knows, has he said anything about what to do with this child?"
"After bringing you back and finding out the child was his, he said nothing and just left." Jude was about to speak, but Camille White quickly held Jude’s arm.
"Oh, really?" Seraphina’s heart seemed pierced by something, the pain of it rendering her somewhat numb.
It seemed Desmond Fairchild didn’t care about this child, which was for the best; at least she didn’t have to worry he’d suddenly appear to snatch the child away.
Seraphina let out a heavy sigh, stumbling back upstairs, her once-clear eyes losing their sparkle, staring vacantly at the ground.
Jude Sinclair pulled away from Camille White’s hand and let out a deep sigh too, "Third Brother, why did you lie to mom?"
"Why? Do you want your mom entangled with that scumbag?" Camille White ruffled Jude’s hair, "If you don’t end things, you’ll only suffer from the chaos. Your mom is in that state now."
"But don’t forget, your dad is Nina Kerr’s boyfriend now. Do you really think it’s necessary for her to get involved with a man who has a girlfriend?" Camille White interrupted Jude’s unfinished words, tapping his finger on Jude’s little head, "Though you’re smart, you’re still a kid. You don’t understand matters of the heart."
Jude retaliated, clutching his head, "You’re not even of age, and you don’t have a girlfriend. If I don’t understand, do you?"
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
"I’ve seen more than you." Camille argued back.
"But have you ever been in a relationship?" Jude pressed on.
"I’ve read more books than you." Camille persisted in his rebuttal.
"But have you ever been in a relationship?" Jude repeated.
"I’ve seen many people in relationships..."
"So have you ever been in a relationship?"
The topic dragged on for a long time, no matter what Camille said, Jude stuck to that one question. That same question boxed Camille in.
Yes, despite all he had done, he hadn’t actually been in a relationship.
This round, Camille had lost.
As he was feeling down, Seraphina’s voice came from upstairs, "Jude Sinclair, have Third Brother investigate that woman you met today."
"Okay, Mom." Jude responded affirmatively. Read full story at N0v3l.Fiɾe.net
"Which woman?" Camille asked curiously.
Jude took Camille through the series of events that happened after they left today in detail, after hearing them, Camille’s expression changed slightly, "Don’t worry, let me handle this."
Before Camille left, he instructed Jude to take good care of Seraphina Sinclair. At least for a short while, Seraphina Sinclair absolutely couldn’t be stimulated again, or she could very well have a miscarriage.
Aunt Winters thus moved in directly with Seraphina Sinclair. As for Old Master White, upon hearing that she wanted to tend to Seraphina Sinclair’s and her child’s daily life, he immediately agreed without a second thought. He even worried that Aunt Winters wouldn’t handle it well alone and sent two more maids over.
Seraphina knew Old Master White’s intentions were good, but she didn’t want more people knowing about her pregnancy, so she found an excuse to refuse.
That evening, she called Rosalie Quinn.
Seraphina hesitated for a long time before finally telling Rosalie Quinn about her pregnancy.
At times , she needed someone to help her make decisions.
Upon hearing that Seraphina was pregnant, Rosalie Quinn practically jumped out of bed, "Are you serious? You’re pregnant? That’s a big deal! You two have already broken up; you can’t keep this child."
"Why?" Seraphina covered her abdomen fearing that Rosalie would force her to have an abortion.
"Think about how you’re already a single mom, all the sideways glances you got while raising Jude? And now this again? Have you not had enough?" Rosalie frowned. Keeping the child would certainly bring a lot of trouble.
But Seraphina didn’t see it that way. Caressing her belly, a loving expression on her face, she said, "I don’t think it’s hard. When I had Jude, it was because the conditions were tough. But now I can afford it; why shouldn’t I have this baby? Besides, giving Jude a little brother or sister to keep him company isn’t a bad thing."
"If you were to find another husband who could give our son a sibling, then I’d have no objections. The key thing is, this is your ex-boyfriend’s child! Do you get that?" Rosalie tapped Seraphina’s head through the phone screen, speaking earnestly, "Even though he’s not fighting you for Jude now, do you think the seeds of Cloudsea Group would just drift around outside?"
"Think about why Desmond Fairchild came to you in the first place. If you really have the baby, you can bet he’ll take them away." Rosalie just wanted to shake some sense into Seraphina and her head.
