Chapter 40: Chapter 40

"Grandpa can I come in?" Grayson opened while holding the door knob of the pointed door of Don Arthur's personal office.

The old man was talking to a staff but when he saw his grandson, he immediately cut off the conversation.

"Sure, come in iho."

Grayson came in but he waited for the employee to come out before speaking. He sat down in one of the chairs facing Don Arthur's table. "Grandpa, I'll be turning nineteen next month and as I promised to you, I want to have my-"

Don Arthur did not finish what the grandson was going to say. He immediately got what the destination of their conversation was. "Where's Kendall?"

Grayson shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe she's in her room," he sighed at his grandfather's sudden search for his bodyguard.

"Call her. Tell her I want her here," he commanded.

"B-But grandpa, I want to talk to you about an important matter privately," he protested.

"No. I want her here first. Call her!"

The grandfather raised his voice so he could do nothing but follow it. He called Kendall on the phone.

"Come to my grandpa's office now," he said irritably.

They waited for the woman's grandfather. And in a few moments Kendall opened the door.

"Good day Don Arthur."

"Come inside Kendall. Sit there."

Kendall quietly entered the office and sat down on the old man's pointed sofa. Grayson looked at them and he immediately noticed its eyebrows meeting.

"Start talking Grayson."

Grayson was surprised by what his grandfather said. "But Grandpa don't you want to finish your business with Kendall first. You talk first."

"I'll talk to her later. Now tell me what you want to say."

"I can't talk to you about it if she's listening."

Kendall stood up. "All right Don Arthur. I'll be right back. It looks like you have something important to talk about."

"No! Just sit down there. I want you to listen to everything," the old man said stiffly.

The girl returned to her seat and Grayson was even more surprised by his grandfather's actions.

"But this is a private matter grandpa! He can't listen."

"It doesn't matter. She won't care. I just want her here to remember everything we talked about. You want to talk about your upcoming birthday am I right? Then, I want her to help with the preparation. "

Grayson looked at Kendall first. The woman looked at him casually as well. He kind of understood the grandfather’s reason, maybe even sending it in for help with the preparation. He removed his eyes from the woman and again faced his grandfather with a serious face.

"Lo, I'm ready to fulfill what I promised to you. I am ready to formally propose to Cady on my 19th birthday."

Kendall's eyes suddenly widened. Gradually he was sweating from the cold at the sound.

".... as what we'd talked about, I want my birthday party to be my engagement party as well."

Don Arthur gave the bewildered girl a meaningful look before answering the grandson. "Are you sure you're there Grayson?"

"Yes grandpa."

"I will give you time for reconsideration. With your health condition now, we can extend what we talked about. Don't you want to wait a little longer just in case you gradually remember the things you forgot. ? "

"I'm decided. I'm worried that Cady and her parents might change their minds. I don't want to lose this opportunity. And besides I have no doubts about my love for my girlfriend. I don't have another woman I want to marry. other than her. "

Kendall bit his tongue very hard. This was the only way he could think of to divert the pain he felt from the chest. He saw Don Arthur look at him again.

"I understand about your feelings for Cady but I hope that you can wait at least a little longer. Let's wait a little longer consciously. Suddenly the day will come when all your memories will come back. I don't want you to regret this decision."

Grayson laughed at the last thing his grandfather said. "Regret? Why would I regret it. This is what I want and this is what you want grandpa, remember? And why are you hoping so much for my erased memories to return? Does it matter? Will anything change when the memories return me? "

Don Arthur did not answer. He took a deep breath and looked again at the quietly listening maiden. Grayson caught the secret exchange of glances of the two companions. He suddenly felt as if they were hiding something from him.

"Am I forgetting something important to me?" he asked seriously.

Neither of the two answered. Gradually his cheeks warmed up. He felt like someone was hiding them. "Am I forgetting something? Did I forget something that could change my decision now ?!"

Several times Kendall shook his head at Don Arthur as a plea not to speak. The old man is forced to obey.

"W-no shark. I just hope everything goes to normal with you before you get into such a serious matter."

"If you say so Lolo then why care for that memories? What matters most now is my true feelings for Cady!" blushed said Grayson.

"I understand grandson. Is there anything else you want to say?"

Grayson was about to stand up but suddenly realized something. "Wait you're not saying yet that you agree to the engagement party I want," he said to his grandfather.

"I will discuss everything with Kendall first."

Grayson did not complain. He stood up but before leaving the room he first glanced at the girl. He had seen before even its sly shake with his grandfather. He walked out the door with questions slowly emerging in his mind.

"What can you say now Kendall?" Don Arthur asked directly after the grandson's release.

"Don Arthur-"

"I want to hear your opinion now."

"W-I can't do anything about Grayson's decision. K-If this is destined to happen I will accept Don Arthur lightly. All I can promise is that I will stay by Grayson's side as long as necessary but I am willing to leave and tolerate when the time comes it's no longer appropriate that I'm still by his side, "Kendall's voice trembled.

"I don't want you to talk that way Kendall. I let you listen to give you a chance to change your mind."

"Don Arthur-"

"I'm giving you one last chance to fight for your feelings. Do whatever it takes to win back my grandson's heart. I'll leave you but that doesn't mean I won't give in to Grayson's wishes now. I'll still follow through." whatever he asks because like you, I also don't want to see him struggling or confused. This time I have nothing to interfere with, Kendall. I place in your hands whatever the fate of you two and my grandson. "

Kendall was temporarily unable to answer. He finds it hard to resist what the chest is really screaming for. She wants Grayson to love her again. She also wants to take the man back ... but she doesn't want to come out selfish. Grayson is innocent. He understands everything, he is the reason why the man is like this so he has no right to insist on his own happiness.

"I-I can't, Don Arthur because no matter what I do now, I have nothing against Cady," he replied tearfully.

"Kendall I know you don't want to hurt Grayson now. But I want to ask you ... do you think if my grandson were normal now he would be happy with what you're doing? Do you think this is what he wants Grayson? He risked his life because of his love for you and I think it's disappointing to see that it's so easy for you to give up the love my grandson gave you. "

"Grayson can't be hurt because there's very little chance that he'll remember me again ..."

"What will happen if his memory returns? And it's too late for him to leave Cady? Do you think he won't be hurt? He might blame you for not fighting for him Kendall."

Kendall nodded. He could not answer the conversation. His mind was confused. Don Arthur is right but he feels his arguments are also right.

"Everything is a gamble now. At least you should take your bet Kendall. If you win then be glad and if you lose then so be it."

-----

"Cady ...."

Grayson squeezes both of his girlfriend's cheeks with his hands. He stared at it intently as he felt their warm breaths. The woman also reciprocated with melting stares and only her eyes were able to conduct electricity and heat throughout her body. He slowly brought the eager lips closer. He started gently kissing the woman's lips until he gradually became aggressive.

Without any sign of resistance from the girlfriend instead it was warmly welcomed and it reciprocated what she was doing. His lips traveled to the back of its ear.

"I don't think I can hold myself now Cady," she whispered with a warm breath.

"Do whatever you want Grayson," the woman replied with her eyes closed.

Grayson's lips dropped to Cady's neck. Her hands crawled into the blouse. He caressed her belly up to her soft breasts. The woman leaned over and hugged him with a low growl.

"Grayson OPEN THIS DOOR! GraysonEEEE !!!"

Grayson suddenly pushed Cady away. The woman lay down on the bed. It gripped the hip that was obviously hurt by the force of the thrust on him.

"Ouch! What was that all about Grayson?" refusing to complain about it.

Grayson even beat the pouring frigid water when he heard Kendall's voice and its loud knocking.

"Grayson OPEN IT!"

Aisssh! That woman is really making me crazy! "Grayson complained to himself." Hide yourself Cady. "

"Why would I hide? I'm your fiancee and what's wrong if I stay here?"

"Just hide and stop asking," the man replied irritably.

Cady didn't obey so Grayson pulled her up on the bed and hid her in the doorway.

"Grayson, open this!!!"

Grayson angrily opened the door. He would have shouted at Kendall too but he suddenly changed his tone when his sharp stares appeared on him. "W-What? What is it?" he said dizzy and swallowed ..

Kendall raised an eyebrow. Sparingly the pity of the door obviously someone does not want to show the opposite.

"Do you have a guest here in your room ?," he asked with a smile.

"W-who told you that?" Grayson doesn't know himself but he gets nervous every time he sees the girl's persecuting eyes.

"The servants."

"S-so?"

"Is Cady there?"

"W-What do you care?"

"Answer my question."

Before Grayson could speak Cady carefully opened the door and spontaneously released herself. "Hi Kendall," she greeted with a smile.

"What are you doing Cady?" Grayson objected.

I just want to say hello to your bodyguard, "the woman replied with a shrug.

Kendall stared at the woman and grinned back. Then he turned his eyes to Grayson. "You can receive a female guest in your room but never close the door," he commanded while turning away.

Grayson chased the girl. "Who are you to command me? I can do whatever I want in my house and especially in my own room!"

Kendall confronted the complaining man. He brought his lips to her ear and slowly uttered whispered words. "I said don't-pin-to-ra ..."

Grayson was temporarily unable to move. Electricity flowed through her body again after the ear felt the girl's hot breath. But consciously, he immediately continued the protest.

"But she's my girlfriend Kendall, for god sake! I need some privacy with her. Who are you to control me ?!"

"Bodyguard you," the maiden replied shortly as she walked back out of the room.

"Exactly! You're just my bodyguard yet you act as if you own me!"

Kendall was stunned. He turned to the man again and looked him in the eyes. "She's still your girlfriend Grayson. She's not your husband yet. There's a lot more that can be changed."

Grayson laughed at what he heard. "Wow are you preaching morality here? I don't live in pre-historic era Kendall. And by the way nothing will change ... because at the end of the day I will still marry Cady."

The girl brought her face close to the other's and stared at him. "You're not sure Grayson. You know maybe tomorrow or the day after you'll feel different."

"How can you say something like that? Why are you holding my heart?" smiling Grayson asked.

"I don't know but I'll get the question back to you. What do you think Grayson ... do I hold your heart?"

The smiles on the man's face disappeared. The two stared at each other for a moment. Grayson's gaze disappeared first but he was unable to answer the girl's question.

"Say whatever you want to say. Do whatever you want to do. But I'll do whatever I want to do with my own door!"

"Just try!"

"A-are you threatening me?"

"Yes."

"What will you do when I close the door?"

Kendall brought his face closer to the man's again. "I'll twist your hand!"

Grayson was held in his arm as if his body spontaneously felt the pain caused by what the woman would do. Irritated with anger he turned his back on Kendall and like a child prodigy walked back out of the room.

"Aaaaa! I hate you! You're crazy!"

Kendall entered his room with a smile. Before closing his own door he first looked at the man's room. It left the door open. "A lot more is being said next ..."

In Grayson's room Cady waits for the man to close the door. But a few minutes have passed but it seems that the boyfriend has no intention of disobeying the order to her. He could not bear it. He rushed out of the room and knocked on Kendall's door.

Kendall confronted the knocking woman but before speaking to her he first looked at Grayson's pitiful door.

"Why?"

"I thought you accepted my relationship with Grayson? But what is this fuss all about?" Cady raised an eyebrow.

Kendall's face hardened slightly. "I don't care if you flirt with Grayson ... but not in my territory Cady."

"Ohh so you mean this place is your territory? But what will happen after Grayson and I get married? Am I the one to stay here or are you still?" Cady's sarcastic questions.

Kendall grinned at the same time sighing. "Don't overdo my apologies Cady. If you want what you say marriage to happen, learn to respect me, because if you don't ... I might change my mind. I can take back everything I said ..." Come on he to the supplicating woman and whispered it in her ear. "... especially now, you've probably seen that I'm still following Grayson. Do you know this is the way he loved me?"

Kendall calmly tapped the silent speaker on the shoulder and smilingly closed the door.
