Chapter 33: Chapter 33
Cady's tears were dripping. The face is pale. The sadness he felt as he walked closer to Kendall was indescribable.
"What happened to you, Cady?" Kendall asked.
"H-help me. Please help me," Cady moaned while hugging the girl.
"Why what happened?"
"B-Grayson just broke up with me."
Kendall couldn't believe what he heard. He removed the woman from his embrace and held her with both arms. "What ?! Why would he do that?"
Cady's tears continued to flow. "H-He said I lied about my brother. He said that maybe I have an involvement with your schemes. He lost his trust Kendall. Help me please. Explain it to him. Pleaasssee!" hysterical pleading for it.
Kendall hugged the woman. He suddenly felt guilty for his involvement in what he had done. He patted it on the back and tried to calm it down. He immediately felt angry with Grayson for his decision based solely on false suspicion.
"Don't worry Cady. I'll talk to Grayson. I'll explain everything to him. I'm sorry if you've even been affected by our problem."
The woman slipped out of his embrace and looked him in the face. "B-but Kendall, I really lied about my brother ...."
"It's just a superficial sin Cady to lead you like this. I'll do everything to make her understand you and I'll explain why you were able to lie."
"Please help me Kendall. I love him so much. I don't want to lose him again. He's the only man I've fought for in my whole life. We can't separate just because of this."
"You too. Grayson loves you too, doesn't he? He fought for you too. He chose you out of all the women in his life."
"I-I know but this time I'm not sure anymore. All I can see from him is anger and pain. I'm afraid so please help me Kendall."
"Grayson loves you. His brain is just confused so maybe he did it. I'm sure everything will be back to normal with you two when his anger is over."
He hugged the crying woman again.
"Don't worry, I'll help you. And I'm sorry if you were also hurt because of what I did ..."
------
Just entering the garage Kendall let out a deep sigh. All day he mustered up the courage to talk to Grayson. The man got out of the car first and walked straight into the house. He immediately followed it.
"G-Grayson can we talk?" he said gently.
The man seemed to hear nothing. It’s just continuous on the walk. He accelerated his tail on it and was forced to hold it in his hand. Only then did Grayson stop. It first looked at his grip before looking at his face.
"G-Grayson about Cady ... Don't touch her. She didn't do anything wrong to you. She had nothing to do with what I did," he began.
The interlocutor did not answer him. It just stared and grinned at him. He removed his grasping hands and resumed walking.
"Grayson, please listen. Poor Cady. Don't make a hasty decision, you might regret it later. You love Cady, don't you?"
Grayson stopped. He looked at her again with a sly smile. "Look at you. You have the guts to explain on behalf of other people ... but you don't even bother to explain for yourself."
He could not reason. It’s not about himself why he’s talking about it now. "Cady has nothing to do with my work Grayson. Yes her brother is Noah but that's not reason enough for you to say she had anything to do with what happened. She doesn't know. It's Grayson's job and we're not going to use an innocent person like him like this serious case. "
Grayson stared at him again. Laughing, his eyes narrowed. "What did you say? I hope I get it right that you're not using innocent people .... then what did you do to me? You used me, right? You used me to capture the kidnappers."
"Grayson-"
Grayson smiled. "You can't answer me because I'm right .... Do you even realize that what you did is unforgivable? Yes, you saved me ... but you can't hide the fact that you used me first. You sacrificed me , right? "
Kendall couldn't look at the man. He doesn’t blame it if it thinks like this. I hope he can say everything here. She wanted to say she tried to fight the man but there was really no other easier and safer way. But for what he had to explain. Explanations can no longer bring back the past. Nor does he stay by its side to restore their former association.
"H-let's not change the subject Grayson. I beg you to listen to Cady ..."
"Don't bother us because that's a problem for the two of us ... and besides she really lied about her brother. "
Grayson turned again and walked straight down the hall. Kendall was stunned for a moment. Gradually, he lost his patience with the stubborn speaker. He chased it again while still trying to talk.
"He was only able to lie because he was afraid that you might not accept that he had a police brother. But he had no intention of keeping it a secret for long. Listen to me for Cady's sake."
The man still ignored her until he couldn't help but raise his voice. "Why Grayson? What's wrong if his brother is a cop ?! Are people like us really disgusting to you? How serious have we sinned against you ?!"
Grayson stopped and faced him. It brought its face closer to hers. It stared at him seriously and hard resigned word. "Yes I hate your job. I hate people like you .... because people like you are often the cause of my sadness and suffering. Am I wrong Kendall?"
Kendall disappeared from Grayson's gaze. He couldn't answer because the words he had left were right for him. He calmed himself, he didn't want to go along with the heat of the other person's head.
"It's not Cady's fault if her brother is a policeman ... Stop being so childish Grayson," her eyes averted.
Grayson winced at what he heard. He leaned the woman against the wall and widened her eyes. "Child? So you're starting to speak like a real grown-up woman now. Are you underestimating me because I'm just a kid? Is that how you see me now ?!"
"H-That's not what I meant Grayson," Kendall explained awkwardly.
Grayson stared especially at the woman and smiled foolishly. He leaned and pressed both of Kendall's hands against the wall. "Do you want me to prove to you that I'm not a kid anymore?" he whispered teasingly.
He slowly brought the pitying lips closer. The woman closes her eyes and quickly turns in the other direction. He was stunned at its quick avoidance. Gradually his eyebrows rose as he grinned.
"I get it. Hailey can kiss me back but Kendall can't. Am I right?" he said staring and not taking his close face away from the woman.
Kendall didn't answer. He didn't want to hit the other person's motivation. What mattered to him at those times was to fix this problem with Cady. He let go of his hands and turned his back on her again.
"Grayson don't leave first. Let's talk about what happened to you and Cady ..."
Grayson could no longer restrain himself. "STOP MESSING WITH MY PERSONAL LIFE! IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! WHO ARE YOU TO INTERFERE? You're not Hailey .... I only gave Hailey the right to interfere in my life. AND YOU ARE NOT HER, WOMAN! "
"B-Grayson ....." Kendall couldn't speak anymore. She has no right to defend herself because she knows she is responsible for all the pain the man feels.
------
In the parking lot of a disco bar Kendall patiently waits for Grayson and his gang to come out. He was sitting on the hood of the car while playing with the cellphone. He repeatedly looks at the time. It should be early in the morning but the bartender still doesn't come out. She was worried because Grayson was early the next day.
He waited another thirty minutes and soon the group left. Grayson is accompanied by another beautiful and sexy woman. The two flirted as they approached the car and before getting into the back seat, Grayson taunted him.
He ignored the man's sly smile instead he entered the car and calmly looked in the mirror at the two passengers. She waited for the man to say something. Although he seemed to know where they were going he still waited for Grayson to say it himself.
"Let's go back to UP Compound. We'll deliver with me."
Kendall wondered. This was not the place she expected the man to say. He followed and drove quietly while the two riders relentlessly hovered.
"Grayson is it okay with you what we're doing?" whispered the woman.
"Don't mind her. That woman is the most cold-hearted person I've ever met. That's not affected by things like this."
Kendall didn't say a word. Gradually his ears became accustomed to Grayson's allusions. For a few moments he accidentally looked in the mirror. He saw the two riders, they were overdoing it. There was no stopping the kissing and just wanting to have sex while he was driving.
"Park the car," Grayson suddenly commanded as they passed a quiet and crowded place. "I said park the car," he repeated.
Kendall obeyed the command. He parked the car next to a tree.
"Get out. Leave us for a while, "the man ordered again.
Kendall followed quietly and calmly. He got out of the car. He moved a few meters away from the car. He just stood there. Repeatedly breathing deeply as the cold air hits his face. He tries to calm himself down ... but even his gnashing teeth seem to dictate that he is too much.
His hands began to tremble. His eyes deepened. His muscles twitched. He turned to the car. He approached it and without hesitation opened the back door.
The two were stunned by the ambush. Grayson looked at him in surprise. He gave her disgusting stares as his nose sniffed in anger.
"What are you doing?" said Grayson as he adjusted the polo button.
"Get down!"
"Are you out of your mind?" the man's response was grinning.
"Are you going down there or do you want to pull you out ?!"
Grayson was stunned. Only now did he hear the tone of its speech again which he could not disobey. He got out of the car and smiled and adjusted himself. Kendall glared at his female companion. He would just laugh as he watched the girl threaten.
"You girl. Get down too and go home!"
"What right do you have to scold Grayson and me? Who are you ?!"
"Will you come down or will I drag you into a taxi!"
The woman was scared. He quickly picked up the belongings and immediately got out of the vehicle. It would have said goodbye to Grayson but it was no longer allowed to approach Kendall.
After the woman left, Kendall angrily approached Grayson. He took the man's hands and kissed it. "There! You're mad, go ahead and punch me! I'm used to receiving a man's punch! Go ahead and punch me!" he challenged.
Grayson was speechless. He was shocked by the woman's unexpected behavior. Kendall took his fist again and deliberately punched it in its face. He quickly withdrew his hand.
"Hurt me! BRING OUT ALL YOUR ANGER! HURT ME! I WILL ACCEPT ALL YOUR ANGER! JUST STOP ALL THE NONSENSE YOU ARE DOING! .... Aren't you angry with me? I'll give it to you. Pour it out. Take away all your resentment against me! "
Grayson was also starting to get angry. "Who are you to tell me what to do?! What do you want to happen? Are you teaching me to hit a person now ?!"
"I'm letting out all that's hidden in your chest! BRING IT OUT!!!!"
"I don't have anything to bring out and I don't have anything to tell you Kendall. Why would I even waste time talking about a person who doesn't even matter to me?" Grayson said loudly.
Kendall laughed sarcastically. "Why are you cowardly? Is that why you're going through everything this way because you can't face the truth? STOP, Grayson !!!! BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO TO REBEL, YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE WHAT HAPPENED! It's all over. Don't hurt yourself anymore. After all, I hurt you, so LET ME BE THE BAD GUY !!! TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU'RE ANGRY WITH! I WILL LISTEN AND ACCEPT EVERYTHING !!! "
Grayson's eyes widened at the visible intensity of the woman's anger. Her face is already red. He also wanted to get rid of the crowded, mixed and stored emotions in his chest. He is carried away by the emotion shown by the girl. Until he unknowingly opened his trembling lips.
"I-I hate you," he said with tears in his eyes in the middle of the other person's shout.
Kendall was stunned. It stared at him as he waited for the next things he would say. "What else Grayson ?! Talk more!"
Grayson couldn't understand if he was still going to keep up with the other person's anger or if he was going to let the tears drip as he planned to look into his eyes.
"I hate you for lying to me ...."
"I hate you for using me ...."
"What else?" Kendall said, trying to make his face bold as he was upset by the man's hurt look.
"I hate you for approaching me and for disguising me as my friend ..."
"Tell all Grayson!"
Grayson's tears slowly trickled down his face. "I hate you for showing kindness to me ..."
"I hate you for your smiles and for the laughter you engraved in my mind ..."
"B-Grayson-" the girl said stunned as the tone of the speaker's speech changed.
"I hate you for giving me good memories ..."
"I hate you for all the happy days I shared with you ..."
The man's tears quickened and his voice growled slightly.
"I hate you for making me think that you care ..."
"I hate you for giving me hopes that you'll stay with me forever ..."
"I hate you for making my heart thumps harder ..."
"Most of all ... I hate you for making me fall in love with you .."
Kendall sighed. He was forced to turn away. He closes his eyes and forcibly restrained himself from crying. Tearing her chest with audible and witnessed tears. She couldn't seem to listen anymore and know how deeply she had made a mistake and hurt the man.
"Don't turn your back Kendall ... you said you're going to listen to everything."
He looked up again with tears streaming down his cheeks.
"... And I hate you for being who you are now ..."
"Why Grayson? What's wrong with what I am now?"
"I hate you for who you are now because-"
"Is it still because of my job?"
".... because it's hurting me that you are the one who has to protect me when I should be the one protecting you."
"... because it's hurting me that you have to risk your life for me when I should be the one risking mine for you."
"... because it's hurting me whenever I think that I will never be man enough to a woman like you."
"And what I hate most ... is that I used to think that Hailey could love me back but you, being who you are now... I can't see any chance that you will love me too, Kendall."
Grayson approached the girl and hugged her tightly. "But I'm hoping I'm wrong Kendall. Tell me I'm wrong ... Please tell me you can love me too Kendall ..."
"I-I told you I'll just listen to you now ..." Kendall's voice trembled.
Kendall's tears could not be stopped from falling as he was trapped in Grayson's arms. Weakly he slipped out of its embrace and hurriedly turned away. She secretly wiped her eyes and still forced herself to face the man with a smile. "N-Have you said everything you want to say?"
Grayson nodded like a child who was then gradually stunned as he realized the words came out of his own mouth.
"Is there nothing left in your chest?"
The man shook his head.
"Have you lost all your anger?"
Grayson nodded.
Kendall smiled tearfully. "Let’s go, Grayson ... let's go home."
Kendall calmly got into the car. He waited a while for Grayson to wake up. It was left standing still outside while silently meditating. It was only a matter of time before it got on board and after a long time it sat down next to him again.
