Chapter 93: Chapter 93

Chapter 94

Xavier's Pov

Edward had been broken since the death of his Mexican parents; now he was just living, not feeling good, not at peace, not secure, not enjoying the moment.

When he saw his Mexican parents die in front of him under the bed, the nightmare followed him around.

His Italian father was a strict man who used to beat him severely, but he endured because people respected him. After all, he was wealthy. He began to love power, but greed for more power blinded him completely.

He began to bully at school and abused his position of power. He became obstinate and impolite.

Girls chased him in college not because they loved him, but because he was a rich boy, and he became a bad boy. The most attractive and popular rich boy.

He had everything luxurious, but not true love, not even peace, which he craved the most; to numb that emotion, he became addicted to the thing from which he escaped as a child.

He joined the mafia with his two brothers and did everything he could to rise to the top of the Underworld.

On a mission, he tracked down the robbers who murdered his Mexican parents, killed them brutally, and did not hesitate to kill for the first time.

His Italian father was impressed with him and appointed him as his right hand instead of his two biological sons, who began to be jealous of Edward.

When his elder brother was arrested by police, the Italian father gave Edward's name and used him to protect his elder son. That day, Edward realized why his Italian father had adopted him.

He was imprisoned for his stepbrother's crime and resolved to gain more power. He was betrayed by the family he accepted. He has broken yet again.

Edward demonstrated his loyalty to his Italian father and earned his trust, and he rose to the top level.

When most of the mafia's underworld became afraid of Edward, he made his name.

When Edward's Italian father became ill, he temporarily handed over control of the family.

He was astounded that his Italian father knew he was a werewolf but still adopted him solely to use him, which he did.

Edward received everything he desired before his Italian father took everything away from him and killed him by placing a pillow on his face.

Edward got everything he wanted, but the peace was still missing. When his stepbrothers discovered that he had murdered their father, Edward fled, burning all the money and leaving everything behind in the mansion.

My father saved Edward from the silver bullet, but the brothers he grew up with were bloodthirsty.

Edward's other family, the Oak pack, accepted him and he became a member of the Oak family. He never failed to demonstrate his devotion to the pack.

When I heard his story behind the curtain, he never told anyone but my father.

We accepted him as a member of the family when no one else could.

Still, he was there with me, fought the battles alongside me, and he was the oak pack's most trusted beta.

We accepted him as a member of the family when no one else could.

Still, he was there with me, fought the battles alongside me, and he was the oak pack's most trusted beta.

"What are you going to do about it?" he inquired.

"About what?" I asked as we walked down the hall to meet Ray.

"Have you given any thought to Lady Sansa's true identity?"

He appeared concerned.

When it became clear that he had a valid point, I shook my head.

"You know how they will all react if they find out,"

"How come they can't accept her?" "She is not my adversary," I was upset.

"You already know that's impossible, and keeping her with the pack is risky," he kept looking around to see if anyone was listening to us.

"Where should I keep her?" I inquired.

Edward was about to say something when he noticed Eric walking down the corridor ahead of us, completely unaware of our presence. "We'll have to think about it."

"Where have you been?" I inquired as to why I had not observed him since the morning.

"It's about Levine," Edward said, leaving me speechless and intrigued. I looked at him, frustrated that he wouldn't tell me bad news.

"Elodie wants to meet you," Edward explained.

Ajay's voice reached me through the crowd before I could say anything to him. "Xavier," he said.

I found myself in the mansion's hallway, where everyone had gathered to say their goodbyes to Ray, who stood motionless.

"Xavier, is Lady Sansa okay?" Ajay approached me through the crowd. "Amara informed me that she is not well."

"She's better now," I said, avoiding existence after responding to him.

"I know Ray did something he shouldn't have done, but Cragkeep is bigger than his crime," Fariya said as she approached me

"Do you have any objections? Are you saying that the oak pack's alpha made a bad decision?" Edward inquired angrily

"No, I did not say that." When Edward teased her, she became nervous.

Ray began walking over to me when the crowd fell silent, giving him a chance to approach me.

"I am leaving," Ray said softly to me.

I couldn't look him in the eyes because I was ashamed of sending him to the dangerous Cragkeep.

"I will be back," Ray stated confidently.

"I hope to see you back," I said slowly, knowing he wouldn't make it back.

He was going to the most dangerous place on the planet.

There was only a 5% chance of survival; that place was full of different creatures, enemies, and types who killed each other to dominate the place, and nobody was ever able to dominate that place. For centuries, the war had been unstoppable.

"I am glad to be a part of the Oak Pack because you guys never abandoned me; you never made me feel for a second that I was the murderer's son, but you always treated me like a family member. I will never forget the kindness you all showed me." Ray said in a sad tone that he was known for his lack of expression.

Everyone in the pack was sad to see him go.

"Especially Xavier, who believed in me and accepted me as an oak, not a traitor's son." Ray was genuine.

Something kept me questioning myself—that I kept the enemy's son inside the pack, that I wanted to get rid of Ray for a long time but never wanted to show my hatred for him.

Ray was also so cautious about everything that I never had the opportunity to punish him.

That alone was reason enough for me to despise Ray: he was the son of Oberon, who murdered my parents. However, Ray abandoned his father and never joined him. That was the most important thing for a son who had abandoned his father.

Ray was innocent, but no matter how hard I tried, my mind and heart would not let me accept him until I killed his father and exacted my revenge.

"There's nothing to feel guilty about; please let Lady Sansa know when she was correct to raise her voice for justice for Hina," Ray stated.

"Thank you for your contribution to the pack," I said, expressing gratitude.

"I had been grateful to the oak pack's alpha," Ray bowed respectfully before leaving the mansion.

I knew some of them thought I was being cruel to Ray because he was the son of a murderer who had murdered my parents. I noticed their suspicious expressions.

I was alone in the mansion when they all went to see Ray off until the main gate. I was alone and felt proud of Sansa when she expressed herself without hesitation, although I was the polar opposite of her.

I realized how alone I was when those feelings were constantly chasing me and I was the only target.

I found myself walking, my eyes were wide open, my heart suddenly dropping, and I held my breath as Sansa lay on the floor outside the room.

"Sansa?  Sansa!!"  As I ran towards her, I yelled her name louder.

I flipped her around to face me and observed her rash and red skin swelling. That's why she was so eager to eat the banana custard. She was allergic to something.

I checked her veins; she had low blood pressure and shortness of breath. She opened her eyes but couldn't say anything.

"Sansa! Please do not perish." I was overcome with emotion.

Sansa was trying to reach my face with her hand while I was holding her hand in my hands and losing her by the second.

Sansa? Can you hear what I'm saying?" I asked when she couldn't respond, but tears were streaming down her cheeks.

Sansa said something that I didn't understand, I leaned in close to her lips, and she said something that broke me even more as if someone had thrown me from the highest building.

"Don't touch me," Sansa said in her final breath before passing out.
