Chapter 84: Chapter 84

Chapter 84

Sansa's Pov

When my heart was heavy, and my eyes were burning, in front of Amara, I tried hard not to cry. I was attempting to conceal my emotions in every way possible.

After fighting with the wild creatures, my body still did not recover. Every minute, my mind began to spin slowly. I was too weak to fight Xavier while he was constantly feeding me food.

"How come you're not eating?" Amara inquired Xavier.

"I have a responsibility to fulfill." Xavier looked into my eyes, satisfied. "After she eats, I will eat," he said.

Amara was watching her favorite couple, whom she adored, when she was blinded by reality.

"You also need to take care of yourself; you've been badly injured, and we need our alpha back soon," Amara told Xavier.

Injured?  He pretended to be hurt and weak when he wasn't. I was perplexed as to why he acted in front of his pack. How many hidden faces did he have that no one knew about?

Xavier was not who he appeared to be. He was mysterious, unpredictable, manipulative, a mastermind, and intelligent enough to fool everyone.

When Xavier's presence was a curse to me, I wanted to fly away. He has so many different personalities that nobody was aware of.

"I'll be fine, but she needs to be saved first," Xavier said softly.

"You know, we were all wondering how and when he would marry when he had never had any women in his life. We had no idea he had you, and we are glad that you are part of the Oak pack," Amara said to me.

I wasn't his wife, but a hostage masquerading as the pack's Luna. I'm curious how they'd react if they found out about our fake marriage.

"Xavier hasn't eaten anything because he was waiting for you to wake up so he could eat with you," Amara said, smiling.

"How romantic!" Only Xavier understood my sarcasm when I used no hate emotions to make Amara doubt us, but he was well aware of how much I despised him.

When he extended his hand, I took another spoon in my mouth.

"Kris said to avoid spicy food, so I made my special dish, banana custard, for you," Amara explained cheerfully.

Banana?  What?  I suddenly felt a sweet and smooth taste in my bitter mouth; I had always been allergic to bananas, a small but deadly allergy.

I once ate banana cake by accident. When I was eight years old, my father thought I was going to die, but a miracle saved me, he said.

I was eating the banana custard from my enemy's hand even though I knew it would kill me if I kept eating.

I wanted to die because I had already been robbed and had nothing left to protect. I had no idea whether or not my first love, Logan, was still alive.

When he stopped feeding me, I finished the entire plate of banana custard and demanded, "I want more; I am hungry."

"You must like it a lot," Amara said as she handed another plate to Xavier. I took the plate from him and began eating faster, hoping to die in a few minutes and escape this cruel life.

I made that decision in a matter of seconds. For a while, Xavier was constantly staring at me. He was watching my every move, as he always did.

"Next time, I'll make more custard for you." Amara was speaking to me while I was preoccupied with eating.

"Would you mind sharing with me?" When I was indirectly struggling to take his hand off my wrist, Xavier grabbed my hand and stopped me from eating any further.

His eyes were suspicious; he might have figured out what I was up to when Amara thought I liked her custard.

Xavier grabbed the plate from me and began to eat. "That's delectable," he said. Amara

My gaze was drawn to the table, where there was a bowl of custard. I was about to walk toward my current fate when Xavier grabbed my hand.

"What are your plans? You should get some rest," Xavier said friendly when I knew he was poison for me and that if I stayed close to him, I would have died soon.

"I am not sleepy at all," I stated solemnly.

Xavier wrapped the blanket around me and made sure that I didn't even consider leaving. "The more you sleep, the faster you will heal." Xavier was trying to hurt me with his grip on my wrist.

Sleeping was a new nightmare for me; closing my eyes traumatized me. Another unconsciousness would have been the cause of my suicide if I had wanted to avoid Xavier's touch.

Amara returned to the chair with the bowl of banana custard.

"She'll sleep later, so let her enjoy my delicious pudding," Amara smiled.

I grabbed the bowl from her before Xavier could.

"Check Levine for me," Xavier told Amara.

"Sure, I will," Amara said.

"I can't afford to lose him," Xavier said sadly

"He is strong, He'll be fine," Amara assured Xavier.

Amara stood up to leave just as I was about to eat the custard. I placed the bowl on a side table.

As Amara stood up to leave, I clutched her hand and said in a trembling voice, "Don't leave me alone."

Amara was perplexed; she couldn't make up her mind.

"I'll take care of her; you can leave and get some rest as well; you've been working a lot, and thanks for the custard," Xavier said to Amara as he urged her to hurry up.

"No, I'd like you to stay, please," I begged.

Amara was silently observing my deteriorating condition and gaining an inkling that something was wrong. She was under pressure to stay because she felt sympathy for me and wanted to be with me during my darkest times.

She had always been a good friend of mine; we had a strong bond, and she was my only friend.

"She needs more rest; you can go; I'll call you when she's awake," Xavier said softly to Amara.

I held Amara's hand as I kept my mouth shut when I wanted to tell her everything I was going through, but now was not the time to put both of us in danger.

I didn't want to stir up any emotions because I was the reason for Ray's punishment, and I didn't want Amara to be harmed because of me.

Amara placed her warm hand on mine and said softly, "I will be back; get some sleep," before exiting the room as Xavier took the custard bowl from the table and shut the door behind her.

My heart was racing, and I was about to get out of bed when Xavier approached. When he extended a spoon of custard, I turned my face away, as if I were burning in a fire of hatred.

I noticed the darkness outside through the balcony, the dark sky, and the night, while Xavier stood by the side of the bed, and we were both alone in one room.

"If you want to eat, I won't stop you," Xavier said, holding out a bowl of banana custard.

I was on a mission to die before Xavier used me, threatened, enjoyed, and satisfied himself by breaking me again.

I extended my hands to take the bowl from him without hesitation, avoiding eye contact with him. He did not let go of the bowl, and when his grip was tight on it, I looked up at him.

He was staring at me in silence, and I was curious about what he was thinking about me or why he was acting that way.

Was he fooling around with me? Did he know I was eating to die? Or was he just trying to make me feel insecure in his presence?

When he threw the entire bowl of custard on the wall, I jumped in terror. I covered my ears with the sound that was frightening to me; every little sound was bothering me, and I was too weak to tolerate any discomfort.

When he started showing me his true face again, I was terrified. The alpha had two personalities. When I looked up at him with teary eyes, he leaned closer to my face.

"You're out of time; don't be eager to bury yourself in the grave you just dug, give yourself time," Xavier said in a deep voice when I noticed the anger in his eyes.

After Xavier slammed the door in frustration, I pushed my heavy, painful body off the bed. I stumbled on the ground as I stood up and took a few steps towards the door.

Before Xavier returned to the room, I was moving forward with my hands and arms. When I ran out of energy in my legs, I gathered the courage to carry myself and walked towards the door.

When I suddenly felt cold, I rushed over to the bed and locked the door from the inside. My body temperature changed in a matter of seconds. I began to shiver and wrapped myself in a blanket.

I had shortness of breath, dizziness, a high fever, and a panic attack as the allergy inched its way through my entire body.

Was I going to die? Would the miracle save me once more? Or will I be free of my cursed existence?
