Chapter 69: Chapter 69

Chapter 69

Sansa's pov

Nobody was surprised by her grin because they had already labeled her as rebellious and expected her to be the one to demand her freedom. She appeared to be a different person, already self-sufficient as if no one could stop her there any longer.

It was her decision, and she had a legal right to make it, but why did those who were disappointed by her decision appears to have lost a war? Did they intend to bully her even more?

"What exactly is this? No other colors are permitted at the funeral.  You are aware of the Oak Pack's rules, but you continue to defy them, as you always do." Maya expressed her displeasure.

"The Oak Pack has a rule that no bride will be registered under her husband's name after she has lost him. I am no longer a member of the Oak pack because, as a non-member, I am not required to follow any rules."  Bella made a joke about it to Maya.

"You are still in the territory of the Oak pack," Maya said calmly as if she were threatening her indirectly.

I was perplexed as to why the Alpha of the Oak pack couldn't make eye contact with Bella, despite being uncomfortable in her presence. and what he was concealing.

"You are still Kevin's bride until the final ritual is completed; you must follow all the rules until you are out of here," an irritated Maya said.

"I'd be delighted to attend the final ceremony here. That much I can do as an ex-Oak member." Bella chuckled

Her words pierced their throats like a needle. They were struggling to accept her freedom. I was curious as to why they despised her so much.

"I'm not as heartless as you all think I am," Bella said, her gaze fixed on Maya.

"You've always been," Maya joked.

"Don't even get me started; I'm not going to take all of your crap this time." Bella was sent off.

"Stop playing the victim card; you are not innocent," Maya teased, knowing exactly how to set Bella off.

"Nobody is, because you are all heartless, cruel devils who pretended to be righteous. You all have different faces. You keep telling yourself that your conscience is alive, but it isn't. You all have a cold, dead heart that never feels anything for anyone." Bella activated

Everyone was silently listening, some of them angry with her but controlling their rage.

"You—-"  Maya was about to have a good encounter when Xavier cut her off.

"Pack your belongings; the Oak family will send you off right away. Get ready to leave," Xavier said softly to Bella.

Later, In Bella's absence, we all gathered inside the mansion to discuss the west gate and the creatures within the jungle.

"We should kill them before they get here," Adam suggested.

"It's not easy, and we're not prepared," Edward admitted.

"So we sit around and wait for them to come to us?  We must take action; speak with Vera, who initiated this," as Ruth stated.

"We fight," Xavier declared.

Everyone was looking at Xavier.

"We fight!" they all exclaimed together.

Bella was empty-handed, her face unmade, and her hair tied in a high bun while wearing a long maroon loose gown.

"Your final words before departing"

Edward stepped forward and asked Bella

"I despise this place, I despise all of you, and I don't want to come back here ever again," Bella stated flatly.

"Start the ceremony," Xavier said.

Seven mountain women formed a circle around Bella and placed their hands above her head. They began to speak louder in a strange language while beginning to circle her.

They moved with their hands on Bella's gown. While Bella was standing there feeling better, they all pulled her gown and tore it at the same time.  Her maroon gown was ripped apart, revealing a black gown underneath.

They took five steps backward after untying her bun. The artist began playing the drums. The audience formed two lines to make room for Bella.

Bella turned her head to the left to keep an eye on Xavier, who nodded slightly. She took her first step forward, still unable to believe she was finally leaving the territory of the Oak Pack.

Bella's hair was swaying in the breeze. They were all watching as Bella took her first steps forward, barefoot, towards the exit in the center. Her liberation was only a few steps away. She was overjoyed because she had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

The Oak Pack was sending her according to their rules, regardless of how much she despised them. It's time to say goodbye.

As the high gate out of territory opened, her smile was priceless. She felt strange and put her hand on her mouth as if she was about to vomit, but she continued to walk away.

As she was only three steps away from the exit gate, the drum sound grew louder and louder. Maya abruptly blocked her path. Bella was not afraid that no one could stop her. sharply looking into Maya's eyes.

When all eyes were fixed on Bella, the drum stopped, and there was silence.

Maya took her hand in hers, but Bella pushed it away. "I'm fine," Bella stated flatly.

Maya's guards surrounded Bella, putting pressure on her. Maya took her wrist to check her veins and briefly checked her eyes.

"You can't leave," Maya explained.

"Who are you to stand in my way? Kevin is no longer alive, and I am no longer a member of this pack; I will leave at any cost. Bella stated

"Congratulations," Maya said with a devilish grin as Bella looked at her puzzledly. "You are expecting a child."

"What?  That is not possible! No, I'm not!" Bella was stunned as she looked around the crowd and told them.

"She's pregnant," Maya announced to the audience.

"That's not true!" exclaimed an angry Bella.

The mountain women began to play a joyful melody on their drums. Some of them were overjoyed to learn the news.

Bella began to run toward the exit gate, which shut in her face. She had given up hope of ever leaving this place. I saw her dreams dashed, and she was broken for the last time. Shocked  Bella sat down on the ground after losing hope of escaping. Her eyes were filled with tears of regret.
