Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Sansa's Pov

In the passenger seat, I was sitting next to the man who had ruined my dream wedding, the happiest moment of my life. Every second, my heart broke into too many pieces that I could never reassemble.

I've always believed that happiness does not belong to me; when I lost my father when I was 14, I lost everything: my home, my identity, and my hope for a better life.

I was living dead until Logan came into my life and my hope began to bloom; he was a new life for me, I experienced love for the first time, holding hands, and the feeling of being someone special in his life brought me to another level of happiness.

I was afraid at times, but he always told me that I was overthinking things; I had someone I could claim, but I had lost someone I loved yet again. I did not want to believe in happiness again.

I avoided making eye contact with Xavier and looked out the window. I despised him for taking me against my will, but there was nothing I could do. Logan was the one I wanted to save; I couldn't afford to lose him at any cost. I abandoned him to save him. I wish he would be alive.

My heart was broken, but it was the only way I could save us both. I did not know when I would see Logan again, but I was relieved that he was safe. My eyes were heavy, but I didn't want to sleep.

"You can rest, Sansa Elsher; we've got a long way to go," said Xavier

I looked at him, surprised. Was he not a con, I wondered, or did he tell the truth? Half-truths have always been more dangerous than lies. I was clueless, and he was obstinate about not telling the whole truth.

"How did you get my name?" I inquired, intrigued.

"You hid for a long time, which is why I couldn't find you sooner," Xavier explained.

"Who are you?" I inquired.

Xavier reached out his hand to me. "My name is Xavier Ronan," he stated calmly.

I didn't shake his hand because how could he act so normal after what he'd done?

"I don't have any money. I'm broke, and if it's kidnapping, you won't get anything," I said

"I want nothing but you," he said solemnly.

When our gazes met, his deep ocean-blue eyes obscured my vision and made it difficult for me to find my way. I returned my gaze to the window.

When the driver turned on the slow music, my eyes became heavy. It was preferable to look at city lights and the moon in the dark sky than an enemy's eyes.

The sound of the car door closing startled me. Xavier was not present in the vehicle. It perplexed me when and for how long I had slept. Where was I?

Xavier opened the door for me in another minute. He extended his hand, but I didn't take it. He could see my hatred.

"He's still under my radar," Xavier threatened me calmly.

I got out of the car, holding his hand with hatred in my heart. I just wanted to punch him in the face.

That was difficult for me to bear.

I've wanted to kill him since the first time I met him.

I saw a massive mansion filled with lights. I walked on the rose petals on the floor, and a shower of petals fell on both of us as Xavier held my hand and walked toward the mansion.

That was such a romantic situation. Flowers were everywhere, my favorite, but I couldn't feel them because I had been plotting my revenge since I left the wedding hall.

The door opened, and we entered the mansion. The vast hall was filled with people dressed in ostentatious and expensive attire. Women were all decked out in makeup and jewelry, while men wore branded suits and shoes. They were all smiling, laughing, and dancing around.

Everyone's attention was drawn to me, and all eyes were on me. When I was new to the underworld, all I was doing was pretending to be confident. That was a different world; I had never attended rich parties before because I had never left my hometown.

"Congratulations, Xavier," Adam said as he raised his glass of wine.

Everyone raised their glass of wine in celebration and cheered loudly.

They all were looking happy.

A woman in her late twenties with medium-length black curly hair approached me.

"Welcome, Sansa," warmly said

Amara.

I chuckled weakly because I couldn't think of anything to say.

When I was the most perplexed person at the party, intrigued by Xavier and all the happy people cheering and dancing nonstop. All I could think about was pretending to be strong and digesting what had just happened to me.

Should I have cried that I could not predict when would I meet Logan again? Or should I have accepted what Xavier said, the new community to which he said I belonged, My mind was constantly jumping to different questions and situations, and I could not focus on one.

"Xavier, congratulations on your wedding," she said nicely.

"Thank you," nicely said Xavier.

Wait! What? Why he pretended that we are married already? What was he thinking?

"You are looking pretty," said Amara.

"However, we are not—" I couldn't finish my sentence because Xavier interrupted me.

"That's why she is mine," Xavier in his deep voice.

He was watching over me with those mysterious eyes, what kind of game he was playing?

In another second Xavier let go of my hand as a woman in a black, tight dress and high red heels approached us. Her long, wavy hair was very shiny and black, and her body was appealing. Any boy could fall head over heels for her.

She was staring at me with suspicious eyes, examining me from head to toe.

"So she's your bride, poor girl," she sneered.

Amara and Xavier were both concerned about her actions.

"Welcome to hell, where you will rue your birth," she laughed.

"Stop it, Bella," seriously Xavier said.

"Preparing her for the future, You won't but she will suffer. She should know," cruel Bella said.

"Please stop ruining the party," an irritated Amara said.

"Her life was significant, but it has already been ruined," said Bella.

Bella's words pierced my heart; I was already dissatisfied with my life, but meeting her made me feel even more insecure.

Disappointed, Xavier grabbed Bella's hand and dragged her away before she could say anything else.

"Don't mind her; it's her habit to ruin everything," Amara nervously said, "My name is Amara Collins."

I was about to shake her hand when a man with shiny black hair, fair skin, and big brown eyes handed me the glass of wine.

"My name is Adam Nigel, and I welcome you to the family," nicely Adam said.

I nervously said, "I am Sansa Elsher."

"I know. We've been looking forward to seeing you since Xavier told us about you." with a smile Adam said.

I wondered. "When?"

"Today, he announced that he is marrying, and we were surprised that he is marrying to whom when he is always busy," cheerfully Adam said.

"We were looking forward to meeting Xavier's bride," nicely Amara explained.

Why did he announce and take me to the mansion on the day of my wedding? How did he track me down? Why had he found me was the first question.

"How did you two meet?" friendly Adam inquired.

I had no idea why Xavier was keeping the truth hidden about our wedding from them, but something was going on that I was not aware of.

When they were expecting my response, I was at a loss for words; if they were talking about my lover Logan, I would not hesitate to reveal, but Xavier, who was a stranger to me, how could I choose words to explain?

I couldn't tell anyone the truth because Logan's life was in Xavier's hands; if I did anything against him, he could have killed Logan.

"It's... a fate that... brought us together," my voice shook as I put on a fake smile.

"That's correct, but is there a specific location where he proposed to you?" politely Adam inquired.

I was looking for a distinction to avoid the conversation with Adam, who was standing there motionless, waiting for me to respond.

"Before this party ends, I must tell you why this party exists," a drunk Edward announced.

While standing in the middle of the stairwell, Edward drew everyone's attention. holding a glass of red wine and beaming.

Where were the members in black suits who had come to my wedding with Xavier? There was only Edward present.

Edward stated politely. "Today's celebration is in honor of Alpha's bride, Sansa Elsher. Congratulations on your wedding, Xavier, We're all happy for you, man."

Everyone was clapping and cheering without knowing the truth.

I was taken aback by how friendly they all greeted me, even though they were meeting for the first time.

Is this the ritual preceding the slaughter of the goat? Because in everyone's eyes, I was the goat. Bella's words were stuck in my head. This was the only thought going through my mind.
