Chapter 58: Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Sansa's Pov

Scream!!

I couldn't stop my steps from reaching out to her, following her scream to the hallway, and it sent shivers through my heart.

My mind told me not to get involved in the situation because it would only make things worse for me, but my heart told me to help Hina because she was in pain and she trusted me.

I came to a halt and looked downstairs at Edward, who was clutching Hina's hand and pulling her against her will while she struggled.

Everyone was gathered around her screaming, curious, like me, to find out what was going on in the middle of the night.

"No, please no!" Hina struggled, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her hair was tangled, and her body appeared frail as her gown was ripped apart.

She was like a goat fighting to avoid being slaughtered by the butcher. Her eyes searched for every possible way to hide or escape, but she became so trapped that she knew she wouldn't be able to escape.

"Shut up!"  Edward yelled at her, slamming her face twice with force and leaving a scar on her red cheek.

My heart was racing as I held my breath and cleared my throat. I had no idea he could slap a little girl, and I was surprised.

At the time, the person who saved me in the trial by lying was a villain. I never liked Edward because he was Xavier's closest beta, which was reason enough for me to dislike him.

"Please help me!" Hina returned my stare as she became aware of my presence. Her teary eyes were staring at me, hoping that I would once again stand up for her.

I couldn't speak because I didn't want to be involved in the situation. I knew it wasn't Vera but Hina, who was in pain because Vera had caused her problems. She was her adversary.

Hina snatched Edward's hand from her and dashed over to me, knowing that I was her only refuge and hope.

"Please help me; don't let him take me," Hina begged, clutching my hand.

Before I could say anything, Edward grabbed her wrist and yanked her along with him, ignoring me as if I didn't exist.

"Lady Sansa!!  Hina was screaming for help while pushing Edward away.

I never considered the consequences before starting a trial to get justice for Hina, unaware that I might cause problems for Ray; yes, I was emotional and wanted to be someone she could turn to when things went wrong.

I wanted to be a shelter for her—a shelter under which she could stand when it rained, a protector when she was mistreated by the world, a protector who could save her.

Logan found me when I was alone in the dark, surviving, and I wished I had someone like that in my life. Or perhaps I should say that fate brought us together. Logan served as my refuge, protector, and shield. I only wanted to leave the mansion because of him.

I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to save Hina any further because I had decided to flee a few minutes ago, but Hina's scream woke everyone up.

"Stop!"  When I couldn't watch any longer, I yelled.

Edward faced me, still clutching Hina's wrist. Everyone's attention was drawn to me.

I decided not to get involved, but seeing her helpless did not allow me to remain silent. I could still do something until I was there.

I was walking downstairs to him while controlling my rage; Hina did nothing because she was the victim who was suffering as a result of Vera.

"Let her go," I told Edward.

"You don't want to do that," Edward told me after learning of Vera's existence.

"Please, she's just a little girl," I requested

"I can't because things are already messed up," Edward said, looking me in the eyes. He was aware that I was aware of Vera's existence and that the trial was a huge mistake on my part.

I was responsible for causing a shambles, Ray was suffering as a result of the trial I started, and Vera took advantage of the situation to make Hina suffer, which I was unaware of at the time.

"Let me handle it from here," Edward said slowly.

While Hina begged for help, Edward took her with him. I was powerless to help her. I had no choice but to hand over control to him.

That was the point at which I had to choose between finding my way out or protecting Hina. I needed to make a decision.

"What's the matter, Edward?" Amara inquired about his whereabouts.

"Stay back; clear my path," Edward requested.

"She asked you a question, and you should respond," Fariya teased.

"Do I need to clear my path in any way appropriate, or will you allow the peace to continue?" Edward teased her again.

By observing Edward's suspicious demeanor, everyone was attempting to stop him and inquire as to the reason for his unacceptable behavior.

"Where are you going to take her?

Jerry inquired "What's going on, Lady Sansa?" as he turned to face me.

I and Edward remained silent because neither of us wanted to reveal anything about Vera to cause more trouble for Hina.

"Why don't you inform us? What exactly is going on?" Ruth stated

"Get out of my way, all of you," Edward said solemnly, still clutching Hina's hand.

"No, you will tell us, or no one will leave." Ruth was being impolite.

"She is not the one you think she is," Bella said over the crowd.

When Bella stood at the door, they all looked at her.

"What exactly do you mean?" Amara inquired.

"Stop interfering," Edward cautioned Bella

"What are you talking about?" Fariya inquired Bella.

"Her name is Vera, not Hina," Bella revealed.

"I said, "Stop!" You all step aside," Edward yelled.

When Edward stopped Bella from speaking and acted suspiciously, everyone's doubts about him grew.

"Ray is innocent, and you know that," Bella told Edward, making everyone curious about the truth.

"Time will tell; Xavier will decide; we don't need your opinion," Edward said sarcastically to Bella.

Why did everyone despise Bella and never treat her fairly? Was she honest enough to deserve their scorn, or was she untrustworthy at all?

"Come on, Vera, it's time to face reality; you can't hide any longer," Bea said when I was perplexed by Hina's presence because Bella was staring into her eyes.

"Vera? What's going on, Edward?"  Ruth inquired.

Edward remained silent and avoided eye contact with everyone, while Hina looked terrified like a small puppy.

"Her name is Vera, and she is a witch," Bella revealed the truth.

The audience began to whisper.

Edward was struggling to keep his rage in check. Why was Bella revealing information about Vera at this time? Is it only to protect Hina or to prove Ray's innocence?

"You all know she's Hina, but Vera shares the same body with her, two souls in one body," Bella explained, leaving them speechless.

"How on earth is that even possible?" Fariya inquired.

"Anything is possible," Edward said as if he already knew.

When Hina was crying, everyone was watching her and wanted to study her. "They're both lying, making up stories to save their pack member; Ray also confessed, and I showed you the evidence; what else do you want? I want justice, not this kind of behavior."

I was also intrigued when Edward let her go inside the dungeon without asking a single question; I was not aware that he was under her spell.

"He was misbehaving with me when I said I'd shout if he touched me, then he threatened me; as you can see, he tore my dress. I'm not sure why Oak members are monsters." Hina was sobbing uncontrollably.

For a brief moment, everyone was staring at Edward, and I wondered what they were thinking about his reputation, even though Hina's evidence was strong.

Everyone took a step back and formed two lines to make room for Edward. When they didn't know the truth, they trusted pack members blindly.

Hina began to laugh uncontrollably, her eyes welling up with tears. They noticed Hina's white eyes and abrupt behavior change; she was Vera, and everyone was realizing what no one had ever considered.

"Do you have feelings for me? Still holding my hand as if you wouldn't let go, my groom is behind bars; if he were here, he would not have let you do the things you were doing with me when no one was looking," Vera spoke in a seductive tone.

"Stop talking! You can't fool us any longer," Edward stated, noticing that some of the pack members were skeptical of him.

"Don't believe her; she's playing with you just like she did with Ray," Bella explained.

"I will not remain silent about how you treated me." Vera made a threat to Edward.

"And I'm taking you back to where you belong." Edward made fun of her.

Edward was leaving the mansion with Vera when she turned her face back at me and winked at me with a grin on her face.
