Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Sansa's Pov
Bella exited the court with Hina on her back. I wondered how she wasn't affected by Hina's abnormally high body temperature. Everyone was making their way back to their seats.
"What are your plans? It's your turn to speak; she pointed to you, so there must be a reason." On his way back to his seat, I said to Ray.
Ray avoided making eye contact with me, even though he had been a suspicious character since the day I first saw him.
I hadn't seen him talk to anyone; he was an observer with mysterious eyes, and his vibe had been strange to me since the first day. He was a character who was unbeatable even when surrounded by people. His dull, mysterious personality blinded those around him.
Why did he try to kill a little girl if I saw Hina's blood on his hand that night? Why was he out there late at night when the door was locked?
I wanted to know all the secrets, which piqued my interest.
The trial has already revealed many secrets. I wondered what else was in store.
Everyone sat back down as if nothing had happened. Ray stood on the baluster to make his statement.
"As you all know, this is becoming a bigger mess, and I'm wondering how many of the secrets are hidden from all of us," Maya joked.
Ray was serious and calm, not making eye contact with anyone. He was deep in thought, and I couldn't see any nervousness on his face.
I couldn't tell if she was Hina or Vera. If she was Vera, why did she point her finger at Ray when she told me to find the culprit? If she had known, she would have given me the name by now, and why did she ask a favor? For me, that was the most perplexing situation.
Was Vera deceiving me, or was Hina telling the truth?
"I'm sure there was a misunderstanding," Maya said.
"Misunderstanding? She aimed her finger at the person who had harmed her." I said
"That doesn't prove anything," Maya pointed out.
"Does that mean Hina lied?" Maya's lack of seriousness towards Hina and Justice disappointed me.
"Not only does her statement matter, but she is also a child, and she can lie; what guarantee does she have that she is telling the truth?" Maya stated
"Have you not seen her wounds?" I turned to face the public, warning them that they could not ignore the incident. "Why would she lie? She has no reason,"
"How long have you known that girl? Several days?" Maya mocked
"That is not true! I'm not sure how you could even say that. This trial was started to get her justice, not to put her in the position of having to prove her innocence when she has all the evidence." In a rage, I pointed my finger at Ray and asked, "Why don't you approach him? Why did he do that to her?" I was overcome with emotion.
"Will you ever murder Xavier? or even consider killing him?" Maya inquired out of the blue.
Yes, I wanted to kill Xavier because he crushed my dreams and forced me to give up my life to save my love, Logan. He hurt Logan to claim me, and I would never forget what we had gone through because of the Alpha Xavier, the one I despised the most.
Maya just said what I was thinking: I wanted to kill Xavier if I had the chance, or I wanted to flee before he returned. I was hoping to get rid of Xavier, but how did she find out?
"Would you try to kill him even if you were angry with him? Not even once?" Maya inquired.
"I'm not sure where this conversation is going," I said.
"You didn't answer my question," Maya pointed out.
"I would not kill him, and you have my answer," I mocked her.
"So, why do you believe Ray attempted to murder Hina? When she revealed that she is his future bride, " Maya revealed the most shocking information.
I was stunned, and time stood still for me as I processed the truth she had just revealed.
How could a groom attempt to murder his little bride? That question was unexpectedly circulating in my mind.
Only I was unaware that Hina was Ray's bride when no one else was, and I was the only one who was unaware that Hina was Ray's bride.
"Have you seen Ray murder Hina?" Maya inquired.
It was better for me not to say anything about Ray when I saw him with bloody hands that night because it could have gotten me in trouble.
I had already made a blunder by discussing the pronouncement of wonder, so I resolved not to make another.
"No, I haven't seen him," I lied, my heart heavy with guilt.
"Can you tell me why she stayed back down here?" Maya inquired.
"No, she didn't," I said.
"You demanded a trial based on a scream when you didn't even know her; you should search more thoroughly next time before starting something you shouldn't have," Maya said.
"You can't let the perpetrator go; ask him why he tried to murder his bride," I said.
"Why would he do such a thing? If he kills his bride, he will be unable to claim another, and he will remain single forever; who would do such a thing? not even in a dream. Do you still have doubts?" May elaborate
I was speechless; everyone agreed Maya had declared Ray innocent without asking anything of him. She also had a valid point, but I was the only one who disagreed with her.
To let the perpetrator go without integration was unacceptable to me.
"She showed you her wounds, and they were real," I explained.
"No one denies it," Maya stated.
Maya was incredible; I couldn't believe it. No matter what, she should not blindly trust Ray.
I noticed blood on his hands, which I couldn't reveal because I didn't want to get into any more trouble. That night, I had a strong feeling Ray was going to hurt Hina.
"What about the perpetrator? How are you going to find it?" I inquired.
"Her statement is insufficient; she would be integrated before we made any decisions," Maya explained.
"No, there's no need for that." Ray's tone was solemn.
We all turned to look at him. He was keeping an eye on Maya.
Ray's statement, "She was telling the truth; I tried to kill her," enraged everyone.
He admitted without hesitation that I saw no regret on his face. The vast hall was filled with whispers, and we were all stunned.
"Would you mind telling us why you tried to kill her?" Maya inquired.
"The bride must be claimed by wonder law, or the death of one of them will keep them apart. I don't want to claim her as my bride because that was the only way I could get rid of her," Ray stated unequivocally.
Nobody expected Ray, the strange and mysterious character, to make such a brutal statement. He was the most volatile.
"How dare you?" exclaimed Maya.
She dashed over to attack Ray, but Edward stepped in front of her.
"You can't do it," Edward told Maya.
"He tried to murder a little girl; I will kill him," Maya raged.
"The perpetrator must be punished; he will face the consequences, but not in this manner," Edward tried to reassure her.
"He should be swerving in pain," Maya rages, hatred in her eyes.
Maya was attempting to reach Ray to murder him, but Edward stood in her way.
"Let the perpetrator face his punishment; justice will be served," Edward stated.
Maya came to a halt and took a step back. Edward addressed the general public.
"Ray would be imprisoned until Xavier returned, and Alpha would make the decision," Edward clarified.
Everyone appeared to concur with Edward.
"Take him to prison," Edward directed to the guards.
Guards were escorting Ray away, and Maya stood in his way.
"I'll make sure you die in agony," Maya said to Ray's face.
