Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Chapter 4 The Donation

"You know what? I really like you, Michael!" Martin said as he pat Michael on the back. Michel simply smiled and bowed in front of him.

All of a sudden, Martin turned to look at his employees and smiled. "My fellow employees, I want to personally give each of you $10,000 along with next month's salary."

After Martin finished his speech, everyone gave him a round of applause.

"Are you serious?! $10,000 as a welcome gift?" One of the employees said.

"Long live the Chairman!" Another one of them shouted.

Martin then proceeded to give each of his employees $10,000 along with their salary.

The employees were very pleased with the new chairman. They never experienced the kind of treatment that Martin gave them when Warner was in charge, after all.

With that, Martin easily won the hearts of all the employees by giving them the money that they deserved.

Martin then made an announcement once again. "To my fellow employees, the money I gave you isn't a big deal! As long as all of you do your job right, I can assure you that things will go smoothly for all of us."

"All hail Mr. James!" Michael suddenly shouted. The other employees followed Michael's lead and they began shouting enthusiastically.

Martin looked at the crowd and nodded in satisfaction. Morgan only told him to look after the company, but Martin thought that simply wasn't enough because he wanted to let the company develop even better.

He also wanted to prove Morgan that he wasn't a useless person when it came to big companies like the Gold Group company.

Meanwhile, Jeremy never expected that Martin would win over the hears of each employee and be fierce at the same time. He also thought that Martin had Morgan's manly demeanor, which made him satisfied.

He then decided to report everything to Morgan.

The company was on the right track and everyone was satisfied by the new chairman, so they never said anything horrible about him. However, according to the news that Martin heard yesterday, the Joseph family snuffed a lot of connections from the company and took the money all for themselves.

Martin then decided to eliminate the Joseph family for good.

Meanwhile, Rudolf was raging with anger and slammed the cup on the floor, which made it break into tiny pieces.

"Dad, are you just going to let things be as it is?" Rudolf said in anger.

"Of course not!" Warner retorted.

"But how are we even going to compete against him? He's Mr. Gracie's grandson!"

"Why don't we just let some goons take care of that kid?" Warner said as his eyes lit up.

"You know what, dad? I think that's a brilliant plan. As long as no one finds out we're in charge of things from behind the scenes, there won't be a problem, right?"

"You're right, son." Warner smirked. "I happen to know some people who might be interested in taking him down."

Warner then looked at his phone and scrolled though his contacts.

At room 8112, Stan Brooke wanted to scold Martin for not coming to class at all. After all, He didn't understand why Martin would skip class in the first place.

"Martin, Mr. Kelvin's class was this morning. Care to explain why you skipped class?" Stan said as he saw Martin walk in the dormitory.

"I had something important to do this morning." Martin simply said.

"If that's the case, then take a leave of absence with you! Mr. Kelvin said that he'll flunk you if you keep skipping classes." Stan said as he gave Martin a stern look.

"W-What?!" Martin looked at Stan in astonishment. Kelvin was one of his college teachers, but he always had a bad impression of him.

After all, when Martin walked on Kelvin having an intimate moment with one of his classmates, he threatened Martin that he'll flunk him if he didn't keep quiet about it.

Martin never really understood why a scum like Kelvin deserved to be a teacher and that made his blood boil.

"Martin, why don't you go to Mr. Kelvin's office and apologize to him? It'll be troublesome if he actually decides to make you fail."

"Don't worry. I'll just go and find him" Martin retorted as he gave Stan a grin.

When Martin arrived at Mr. Kelvin's office, he noticed that it was unlocked, so he pushed the door open.

Kelvin was busy watching a movie. However, when Martin entered his office, he got startled and was infuriated when he saw Martin.

"Martin James, don't you know how to knock?!" Kelvin shouted. "Also, you skipped my class this morning so I hope you know the consequences."

"Mr. Kelvin, that's why I'm here. I don't want to fail my subject." Martin said as he walked up to Kelvin.

"Does that mean you want to beg? I'm always open for that." Kelvin said as he smiled and rubbed his fingers together as he motioned for money.

Martin couldn't help but smile back. He simply sat down on the chair next to Kelvin and looked at him sternly. "Sorry, I'm not here to beg for mercy. I'm here to give you a chance."

"I want you to cut me some slack and stop telling everyone that you'll flunk my grades every single time, or else." Martin added, a hint of amusement evident in his eyes.

"Or else, what?" Kelvin asked with a playful smile.

"Or else I'll make you pay a heavy price."

"Make me pay a heavy price?" Kelvin said as he laughed. "You're just a college student. You can't do anything, you know?"

After a few minutes, Kelvin stopped laughing and slammed the table with his hand.

"Look, I want to make things clear. Why don't you just give me $5,000? If you can manage to give me that kind of money, I won't let you fail. You can also get your diploma after you graduate." Kelvin said with a smirk. "What do you say, Martin?"

Martin's expression was incomprehensible. He then glared at Kelvin.

"You really are scum, Kelvin Butcher." Martin said as he mocked Kelvin. "You didn't take advantage of the opportunity I gave you, so I'll make you pay for it."

With that, Martin got up from his seat and walked out.

When Kelvin heard Martin call him by his nickname, he simply tried to stop himself from punching the table. He didn't like the nickname other people gave him, so he considered it as an insult.

It was unwise for Martin to piss off a university teacher, but he simply didn't care anymore.

With that said, he went all the way to the headmaster's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" a voice from behind the door said.

After entering the office, Martin simply looked at the headmaster who was wearing a suit while reading a newspaper.

When Principal Swift saw Martin, he took a glance at him and sat up straight. "What can I do for you?"

"Principal Swift, I'd like to donate some money for the school." Martin said as he looked at Principal Swift sternly.

"A donation?" Principal Swift sighed. "Look, I appreciate your kindness, but I know you can't afford to donate a large amount of money, so you'd better keep it for your own use."

Martin smiled: "Principal Swift, I want to donate 10 million dollars."

"W-Wait... 10 million?!" Principal Swift said in astonishment. "Are you kidding me? Where did that 10 million even come from?"

"Just give me the account number and I'll transfer money from there." Martin said. Principal Swift immediately complied.

"When the transfer's over, you can check it out." Martin added while he rummaged through his phone and tried to transfer 10 million.

"Elma, tell me if the financial department received 10 million." Principal Swift said nodded.

Principal Swift was shocked. He never expected that a donation of 10 million dollars would come from none other than a simple boy wearing inexpensive clothes.

"Elma, I want you to make the coffee that I used to love so much." Principal Swift said. "And make it immediately!"

Elma simply nodded. "Yes, sir!"

Principal Swift then sat on his chair and looked at Martin enthusiastically. "Please, sit down. I want to know what your name is."
