Chapter 310: Chapter 310
Chapter 310 Crisis
Martin looked back at the Gold building where he noticed that seals were being posted. Because of that, he knew that the business had collapsed in an instant.
Not to mention, he felt as if his beliefs collapsed as well because ever since he and his grandfather met, the Gold Group had always been his greatest support.
However, everything was gone in a blink of an eye because the Gold Group's operation had been blocked and his grandfather was arrested.
Even the ordinary employees and the managers were kicked out in front of the building as they gathered in front of Martin because all the senior leaders had been taken away and only he was left.
"Mr. James, what's going on?!"
"Why did the operations suddenly seize?"
"Mr. James, please tell everyone what's going on! All of us are getting anxious!"
For a while, Martin was bombarded with inquiries and looked pale. Despite that fact, he didn't want to disappoint everyone, so he clenched his teeth and said, "Everyone, Gold Group is currently experiencing an unparalleled crisis, but I'm confident that we'll recover from this, so please return home and wait for my next announcement."
At that moment, Dylan stepped forward and patted Martin's shoulder. "Martin, you have to cheer up. You can't fall for Edwiin's schemes because if you do, you'll just fall for his trap!"
Kama forced a smile and said, "Martin, Dylan's right. You're the strongest and bravest man in my heart, so I'm sure we can pull through this."
After Martin heard their encouraging words, he decided to tighten his resolve and said, "I want to be strong, so I won't let Edwiin see this side of me. I still have five billion in my account and the James Group, so I know I can make a comeback!"
"Let's go back to the lakeside mansion first and think about a long-term plan," Martin said in a firm tone.
"I'm relieved to see you cheer up, Martin," Dylan said with a smile.
Kama also smiled and said, "I'm sure we can make a comeback, Martin. Don't worry!"
After that, Martin and the other two went to the parking lot as they prepared to drive back to the lakeside mansion.
"You can't enter here!" Several policemen said as they tried to stop Martin.
"I'm going to my car," Martin said as he pursed his lips.
"All the cars here have been damaged," One of the policemen said impatiently.
Martin glared at them, but he chose not to force it because he didn't have anyone to back him up anymore. Not to mention, it wasn't worth the risk.
"Martin, just forget it. Let's take a taxi and go back," Dylan said.
"I suppose that's our only option," Martin sighed.
A while later, Martin stopped a taxi and headed for the lakeside mansion. When they arrived there, the sky already got darker. However, Martin saw several other policemen standing at the door as they put seals on the mansion.
"Damn it, the house has been sealed up too!" Martin said as he clenched his teeth.
All of a sudden, a thought occurred to him. The house belonged to his grandfather, which meant that the Tomlinson family only wanted to seal all the things he had.
Just then, his phone rang so he took it out and saw that it was a call from Michael, who was a general manager of the C City branch.
"Hey, Michael," Martin said as he answered the phone.
"Martin, the branch of the Gold Group in C City has been closed down," Michael anxiously said.
"I already know this," Martin said. "Just focus on the James Group first alright?"
"B-But the James Group has also been closed down," Michael retorted.
"What? Why did they do that?!" Martin angrily asked.
"The James Group has been obtained by Mr. Gracie," Michael sighed. "The security company has also been blocked and because of this, general managers and some other managers were arrested."
Because of what Michael said, Martin's face was pale and his hands trembled. He couldn't hold his phone right anymore, but he knew that he had to endure it.
"The people from the industry and commerce will take me into the car now, so I'll hang up first. You have to cheer up okay? Don't let this get to you!"
With that, Michael hung up as Martin held his phone as tight as he could. When he thought about Delia, he hurriedly dialed her number. However, no one answered.
Martin also knew that Delia was the general manager of the QG City branch, so he thought that it was most likely that she was also arrested.
Just as he was about to lose hope, lightning suddenly came and at the same time, he received a call from Iron Legs, whose name was Calvin Page.
"Calvin," Martin said as he answered the call.
"Martin, the JD City branch of James Security Company has been sealed up and Boyce, as the person in charge, got arrested," Calvin said.
Martin immediately got anxious once again when he heard that Boyce had also been caught. Because of this, he knew that the James Group was over.
"What about you, Calvin? How are you?" Martin quickly asked.
"I wasn't arrested because I didn't have a real job at the company," Calvin retorted.
"Where are you now, Calvin? I'm at the East Lake Villa, so if you have time, you can come and meet us," Martin said.
"I don't think that's necessary anymore, Martin," Calvin said. "Edwiin came to me and I'll work for the Birrell family tomorrow, so I only called you because I wanted to let you know that he was the one behind all this and I've done my best."
"W-What? You're really going to side with the Birrell family?!" Martin said in disbelief.
"Before you scold me, you should worry about yourself, Martin," Calvin sternly said. After that, he hung up the call.
"Martin, did Calvin betray us?" Dylan quickly asked.
"Yes," Martin said as he clenched his teeth.
"That's okay, Martin," Dylan sighed. "At least we know what kind of person he is now."
It was then that Dylan patted Martin on the shoulder and said, "Even if you have nothing left, I'll fight and protect you to the end."
"Thank you so much, Dylan," Martin said as he turned around to hug him. "You're right, I should be thankful that I saw his true colors."
Dylan simply smiled. "Don't worry, this is only temporary. Even if James Group is gone, you still have billions in your card."
All of a sudden, Martin's phone rang again. When he took a look, he noticed that it was a call from the bank.
