Chapter 306: Chapter 306
Chapter 306 Judgmental People
Immediately afterward, the secretary stood up and said, "I'm truly sorry about this. Please forgive me!"
"Can you take me to your principal now?" Martin coldly asked.
"Y-Yes!" The secretary nodded.
With that, Martin entered the principal's office. When he did, he saw a middle-aged man with glasses sitting in front of his desk who he concluded as the principal of JD University.
"Mr. Cedrick, this is Martin James, vice chairman of the Gold Group," The secretary said.
"So, you're the grandson of Morgan Gracie?" Cedrick said with a smile on his face. "I heard many people talk about you before, so please sit down."
"Mr. James, I want to talk to you about the school library that was built in the 80s. Since the school is expanding, the old library isn't enough, so I wanted to build a new, modern library," Cedrick said. "I want your company to sponsor it since there's still a funding gap of a hundred million."
"A hundred million isn't a problem, but what will we get in return?" Martin asked.
"I'll name the library after your company and I can give you the title of an honorary professor in JD University," Cedrick said. "Also, we can give the Gold Group our top graduates. There's still a shortage of talents in this society, but I want to give you one of the best students."
"If that's the case, then I agree to be the sponsor," Martin smiled. "A hundred million will be credited to your account within one week."
"Really?" President said in surprise.
"I told you," Martin said calmly. "A hundred million isn't a big deal."
The only reason why Martin agreed was that he thought the third offer was good because JD University is the best university in Marleyan and it can indeed provide talented people for the Gold Group.
"This means a lot to me, Mr. James," Cedrick said.
Immediately afterward, the principal instructed the secretary to print out the contract. Within a few minutes, both Martin and the principal signed the contract.
After they signed, Cedrick wanted to send Martin outside, but Martin directly refused because he didn't like that setup. With that said, he came out of the principal's office on his own walked outside the school.
When Martin got out of the school gate, he found a lot of people in front of him. They were watching something, so he decided to take a look. However, what he saw wasn't an exciting thing because he witnessed the student that helped him push the sanitation truck get beaten up by a few other boys.
Although there were a lot of people looking at them, no one wanted to interfere, which made him irritated. Because of that, he immediately yelled, "Stop!"
Because of what Martin did before he went to the principal's office, he made a good impression with the student. He didn't know why the student was being beaten up, but he didn't want to just idly stand by and do nothing.
After the other boys heard Martin shout, they looked at him while he strode towards the student and helped him up.
"Are you alright?" Martin couldn't help but ask. When he noticed that the student had bruises, he immediately knew that the other boys weren't joking about beating him up.
"I-It's you!" The student said when he recognized Martin.
"Are you all right? " Martin James asked as he helped him.
"You're so god damn nosy, aren't you?" The man who wore earrings said as he looked at Martin.
"Aren't you all students from JD University? I can't believe you're bold enough to beat people up in front of the school gate," Martin sneered at them.
"I'm the leader of JD University and everyone knows about that!" The man said proudly.
"I didn't expect someone from a prestigious university to do something like this," Martin sighed. "You're not a leader, you're just an asshole."
"I spent money to get in and worked hard to enter this school!" The man said as he gritted his teeth. "You're also a poor student, right? I would get out of the way if I were you."
"I-I appreciate your kindness, but you can't offend him," The thin student said as he looked down. As soon as he looked at Martin's appearance, he knew that he was similar to him, which was why he didn't want Martin to get involved in his troubles.
Martin, however, smiled and said, "Don't worry, he's just a student. As long as I say something, he'll be expelled."
"How the hell can I be expelled just by saying something?" The man with the earrings said as he laughed alongside his comrades behind him.
The onlookers, on the other hand, were shocked at what Martin said.
"Where did he come from? I can't believe he said such words!"
"I mean, just look at him. It's obvious that his family is poor just by the way he's dressed. I admire his courage, but I'm sure he'll suffer the consequences if he gets too arrogant."
"I'm really curious about you, boy," The man who wore some earrings said. "Who are you to tell me that I'll get expelled from this university?"
"I'll just let your principal handle it," Martin said as he glared at the man. After all, he didn't need to explain himself to people who were quick to judge.
After he said that, he took out his phone and called Cedrick.
"Mr. Cedrick, I'm at the school gate and there are some troublesome students from your school that beat someone up. I want to see someone come up here within five minutes," Martin coldly said.
With that, he hung up the call.
"You actually pretended to call the principal, kid?" The man laughed. "Do you think I'm a fool that can be scared by just one phone call?"
"You'll see it within five minutes," Martin said as he sneered at him.
"I'll just wait for five minutes, then. If you end up pretending, I'll just beat you up instead!"
"H-Hey..." The thin student said as he tried to tug Martin's sleeve. "You have to go away as quickly as you can! I don't want to drag you down."
"You're a good person, so don't worry," Martin smiled. "I'll take care of this."
"In this society, the good people are being bullied whether they like it or not," The thin student said as he shook his head.
"Just leave it all to me," Martin confidently said.
Soon after, everyone heard someone coming. When they looked around to see who it was, they saw a middle-aged man with more than a dozen security guards behind him.
And everyone recognized that the man was the president of JD University.
"It's the principal!" One of the onlookers said.
"The principal actually came? Did that kid call him?"
On the other hand, the man who wore earrings was dumbfounded when he saw the principal and the same applied to all his comrades behind him as well.
"Mr. James," Cedrick said as he directly came to Martin.
After everyone saw that, they were stunned because she didn't know why the principal was so respectful towards Martin and wondered what identity he had.
"Mr. Cedrick, these students blatantly beat up my friend in front of the school gate. If you don't explain everything to them, I won't give you the donation for the school library," Martin coldly said.
"Y-Yes, Mr. James," Cedrick said. Soon after, he looked up at the student with the earrings and said, "You boys are bold! Do you even know who you messed with? He's the vice-chairman of the Gold Group and Morgan Gracie's grandson!"
