Chapter 301: Chapter 301

Chapter 301 Largest Shareholder

"I'm talking about your mother!"

At that moment, Martin was infuriated, so he hit Gavin with his fist, which knocked him over on the sofa. For him, his close relatives, friends, and lovers were forbidden to be condemned by other people.

Gavin gritted his teeth as he touched the blood on the corner of his mouth. "You're going to pay for this, as well as Renee's company!"

Martin was about to punch Darwin once again, but Renee shouted, "Martin, calm down!"

It was then that Renee tried her best to stop Martin and immediately took a glance at Gavin. "Mr. Hamlet, he's not an employee of our company. He's Martin James, Morgan Gracie's grandson."

"H-He's Martin James?" Gavin exclaimed as he was taken aback.

A few days ago, his father attended a charity reception and after he came back, he told Gavin about Martin, which was why he was able to recognize the name.

"Yes, I'm Martin James," Martin said as he slightly squinted his eyes.

After Gavin heard that, his expression quickly changed into a smile, and said, "I'm sorry about that. I didn't know who you were since you didn't properly introduce yourself to me, so I'm sorry if I said something offensive."

"Do you know who Renee is?" Martin said coldly as he glared at Gavin.

"Could it be that you're both related?" Gavin suddenly asked since he remembered that both of them had the same surname.

"That's right, so don't harass my cousin again or else you're going to pay," Martin retorted.

"A-Alright, I'll just get out of here now," Gavin replied. He knew very well about Martin's identity and background, so it wouldn't be wise if he offended him even though he was one of the richest people.

With that, Gavin immediately went out then left Martin and Renee alone.

"Renee," Martin said as he walked up to Renee with a serious look on his face. "Do you suffer that kind of treatment whenever you have to invest?"

Now that Martin pondered about it, Renee suffered a lot of grievances when made investments, but he didn't want her to get killed just because of that.

"I-It's the first time I encountered this situation..." Renee trailed off as she forced a smile. After all, she didn't want Martin to worry about her.

"You lied to me, you're sure a fool!" Martin said, distressed. "Why didn't you tell me earlier? If you have issues with money, I can help you."

"I'm not allowed to invest anymore, but if you're lacking money, I can at least do something," He added.

"But..."

"No, Renee!" Martin angrily said as he sat on the sofa and urged Renee to sit with him. "Tell me how much money you need and we can talk through this."

Renee hesitated for a bit, but Martin knew what Renee felt, so he said, "What's the situation of your company right now? Tell me about it."

It was then that Renee sighed and eventually sat as she looked down. "The company's finances are tight right now and the salaries of the employees can't be sent out. Because of poor performance the company has, we can't make that much money anymore and we urgently need funds to enter the market so we can maintain the operation and continue to promote the company."

"How much do you need?" Martin asked.

"About three hundred million. The promotion needs to depend on money, after all," Renee said.

"Three million, you say?" Martin said as he pondered for a while. "If that's the case, I can give you three billion."

"Three billion?!" Renee said as she covered her mouth. For her, if she had at least three hundred million, it would be enough for her to start anew. However, she never thought that anyone would be willing to give her three billion out of the blue.

"Since the company's going to be promoted, you need to spend money and invite celebrities to be endorsers. If you get all the advertising sponsorship fees for popular TV and variety shows, I'm sure it'll get well-known in no time," Martin said. "Also, you can spend money so you can make discounts for people. It has to be a real discount though or else people won't bother buying anything from the company."

After Renee heard Martin's words, she was shocked. Such a large-scale promotion was something she didn't even think about before because she first wanted to spend money to promote something on the app store, but because the app that they promoted wasn't well-known, not many people downloaded it.

Not to mention, since her previous promotion wasn't good, that made the investment company think that her project wasn't worth investing in.

"Martin, three billion isn't a small number you know?" Renee worriedly said. "If the promotion isn't going to work, the money is going to be wasted. The risk is very high when it comes to large-scale promotions, so I didn't want to do it at first."

"As long as it helps you fulfill your dreams, I'm sure it'll be worth it," Martin said seriously.

At that moment, Renee was moved by Martin's words and tears suddenly flowed down her cheeks. She suffered from many people's criticisms for a long time and because of that, she suppressed her emotions because she thought that she was emotionally stable enough to handle them.

However, her emotions decided to burst out by itself and Renee didn't know how to control it anymore.

When Martin saw Renee crying, he immediately lent her his shoulder and patted her head as he tried to coax her.

Renee sniffled loudly as she looked at Martin and said, "Thank you, Martin."

"Renee, I know you've been through so much, so just cry it all out, okay?" Martin retorted as he flashed a small smile.

"O-Okay," Renee sobbed.

After a few minutes, Renee adjusted her emotions and calmed down for a bit. She was thankful to Martin because he helped her when she truly needed it and decided that she would repay him as soon as the promotion becomes a success.

"Martin, the company still has at least seventy shares. You and grandpa had ten each and the other investors had five, but since you decided to invest three billion, I'll give you all the shares and give this company to you in the future," Renee said.

The last time when Martin was at the James family, he used one hundred million so he could buy the old city reconstruction project that the James family had.

And since their grandfather gave Renee one million, Renee wanted to give it to Martin in return.

However, Martin quickly shook his head and said, "I don't want that, Renee. You were the one who founded the company and the project, so you can just give me another ten shares."

"If you didn't offer three billion, the company would have to go bankrupt," Renee said as she pouted. "If you don't take the shares, then I won't take your money."

Martin knew Renee's personality, so now that she talked about that, he thought that she changed her mind.

With that, he took a deep breath and said, "Why don't you give me fifty shares and you keep the rest? If you don't agree with that, I'll be mad."

Renee thought about it for a while, but she eventually nodded her head and said, "Alright."

As a result, Martin became the largest shareholder in Renee's Ruby Network Company with fifty shares while Renee had thirty shares, which made her the company's second-largest shareholder.

"Although I became the company's largest shareholder, I won't intervene in any management and decisions that you have for the company because I want you to do that for yourself, alright?" Martin smiled.

"Okay, Martin," Renee chuckled.

After the matter had been settled, Martin sent three billion to the company's account as soon as possible and because of that, the balance that Martin had changed from 9.6 billion to 6.6 billion.

To deal with the Birrell family and help Renee, Martin let go of four billion. However, he didn't feel distressed when he did that.

Not to mention, if the promotion in Renee's company goes well, Martin would have a lot of money.
