Chapter 271: Chapter 271
Chapter 271 The Only Breakthrough
Outside the meeting room, Lone Wolf was waiting for Martin James. When he saw him, he hurried and approached him.
"Martin, why do you look so upset? Is something wrong?"
Lone Wolf heard the noise in the conference room while he waited for him outside.
"Let's go! Let's go to the hospital first!" Martin James gritted his teeth.
Cathy Sidney's mother, for his own sake, was hit by a car, and Martin James needs to visit her first, no matter what.
On the way to the hospital, Martin James informed Lone Wolf what really happened inside the conference room earlier.
When Lone Wolf heard the story, he was naturally angry. He couldn't believe somebody did that to Martin and to Cathy's mother.
Inside the car, Lone Wolf suddenly asked, "Martin, what are you going to do?"
"We need to find the evidence and let Colby Gracie pay for it!" Martin James's tone was cold, and his eyes were even more fearless.
Immediately after that, Martin James called Poison Tooth and asked him to find the driver who had hit Cathy Sidney's mother at the fastest speed.
Martin James knew that the driver of the car that hit Cathy Sidney's mother was definitely directed by Colby Gracie.
He said, "When you find the driver, force him to speak up and tell you everything that he knows. We need to know what really happened."
That was their breakthrough.
Back to the Gold Group, inside the office of Colby Gracie, they were happily celebrating for their victory against Martin.
"Elmer, let's have a drink! Congratulations on our victory!"
Colby Gracie happily lifted a tall wine glass with red wine in it.
Elmer Gracie, the Finance director, also brought up his glass with a smile on his face, had a drink with Colby Gracie, and drank red wine.
After putting down the glass, Colby Gracie was thrilled and said, "I'm so happy to see Martin James's reaction. He was so angry today."
Elmer Gracie also sneered, "He's a hairy boy, and he dares to fight against us. Well, don't do it on your own! I, Elmer Gracie, can easily turn him around, and I think Martin James must have tasted today, falling from heaven to hell."
Everything were all planned out by Elmer, and Colby gave a thumbs up.
Colby Gracie was delighted when he thought of Martin James again. They won against him earlier and made him appear so miserable.
"Mind you, Elmer, this guy's definitely not going to stop. He's definitely going back to look into it, he's not going to find anything, is he?" Colby seriously asked.
"Don't worry, I thought about everything already. I arranged everything so you shouldn't worry about anything. Relax." Elmer Gracie smiled confidently.
Back to the Gold Group Penthouse, Paddy Jeremy hurried into the office.
"Mr. Gracie, I called the traffic police and the hospital to ask, and Cathy Sidney's mother did have a car accident." Paddy Jeremy informed Morgan Gracie.
"Well. So, Martin's words were 90% true." Morgan Gracie muttered.
Morgan Gracie, a decades-old fox in the business world, could certainly tell the truth from many things.
Moreover, Morgan Gracie believes that Martin James would never lie to him.
"Mr. Gracie, you've always preferred Martin, so why didn't you speak for him at the meeting earlier?" Paddy Jeremy wondered.
"In front of executives, if I don't speak of evidence and favor Martin, it's just a criticism, and it's only going to make people more biased against Martin." Morgan Gracie said.
Then Morgan Gracie continued, "And this matter, is also a kind of experience of Martin, the business community is a lot of fighting. What happened earlier was just nothing. If he cannot defend himself with such a simple mess, then how can he live up to my expectations in the future? He needs to bear all sorts of blow given to him and succeed after each fight."
Morgan Gracie couldn't count how many times he's been subjected to a business rival's covert calculations, shopping malls and shopping malls like battlefields. It wasn't a game after all.
"I see, Mr. Gracie, you still want to get through this and exercise Master Martin." Paddy Jeremy says.
"Young people don't go through anything. How to grow, I think these things matter. We must be able to give him a lesson, depending on whether he can find evidence." Morgan Gracie said slowly.
At a ward in Benevolent Hospital, Cathy Sidney's mother was lying in her hospital bed, and Cathy Sidney was looking after her.
Martin James walked quickly into the hospital. When he saw Cathy, he immediately asked, "Cathy, is aunt all right?"
Cathy Sidney's mother, for his own sake, suffered such a disaster. Martin James was more than eager to see her and Cathy just to check how they were doing.
"My mom's asleep but she's fine. She just broke her leg bone, she's had surgery and she should be able to get out of the hospital soon." Cathy Sidney explained to Martin James.
Suddenly, Cathy Sidney bowed her head and bit her lips. Then she whispered, "Martin, I'm really really sorry. I failed you. We had an agreement already. However, they already involved my mother and I fear for her safety too. I had to cancel to protect her."
Cathy's tone was full of disappointment for herself for not being able to do what was expected by Martin. She felt very sorry for Martin James.
"Cathy, it's me who's going to say I'm sorry, and if it wasn't for me, your Mom wouldn't have been hit by a car. I dragged you into this matter. I'm really sorry for what happened." Martin James was apologetic.
Martin James didn't say what it meant to persuade Cathy Sidney to continue with Gold.
At least until Colby Gracie's issue was resolved, Martin James will never mention it again. He couldn't drag her again into a terrible game, let alone involve her loved ones and put them at risk again.
Just then, his cousin Renee James hurried into the ward.
"Cathy, how's your Mom? Is she all right?" Renee James asked as she walked in.
"It's not a big deal. She's fine." Cathy Sidney nodded.
"Martin, you're here, too." Renee James saw Martin James standing next to her.
Martin James smiled and nodded.
"Martin, I'm so sure it was Colby who did this." Renee James's tone was serious.
"I know. That's what I thought so, too. Absolutely, that animal did this! And I'm going to make him pay for it." Martin James gritted his teeth and flashed his anger again in his eyes.
"Martin, the battle for inheritance rights must be sinister. You must be very careful. Careful with every move. One wrong move and you'll put everything at risk." Renee James expressed her concern.
"I understand your concerns, Renee." Martin James nodded solemnly.
At that time, Poison Teeth and Iron Legs came hurriedly towards Martin James.
"Poison Teeth, Iron Legs, how's everything? Did you find the driver who did this?" Martin James asked hurriedly.
"Martin, man was found, but..." Iron Legs couldn't continue his sentence.
"But what?" Martin James frowned and felt something was wrong.
"But he was found at the funeral home. We believe the driver jumped out of the building and killed himself." Poison Teeth said.
"What!?" Martin James was shocked.
"How could he suddenly jump out of a building and commit suicide? What's the reason?" Martin James quickly asked.
They figured that this driver was their only breakthrough, and he died suddenly. Something seemed off.
"The reason given by the police was an emotional dispute that led to the suicide by jumping from a building." Poison Teeth said.
Martin James squinted and said in a cold voice, "Emotional disputes? I'm afraid it's just a superficial reason. And if my guess is right, I think the driver didn't die just like that."
"Martin, you mean, this driver was killed by Colby Gracie?" Poison Teeth asked.
"Well, who else could do such a horrible thing?" Martin James uttered.
He squinted and continued, "This Colby Gracie is really poisonous! He's killing his own people so as to avoid evidence that would later point towards him."
Their only breakthrough at that time was the driver. But he suddenly died. So they needed to think of something else, or least find other evidence that would reveal Colby and Elmer's participation.
"Martin, what are we going to do now?" Poison Teeth asked.
"Poison Teeth and Iron Legs, don't worry about that issue for now. Your task now is to drive Heaven Security at JD as soon as possible, and that will be my strength against any opponent. It's important!" Martin James said.
"Yes, Martin! We'll do it!" Poison Teeth and Iron Legs responded.
After Poison Teeth and Iron Legs responded, they turned and left quickly.
Martin James turned to the chair next to him and sat down, then fell into meditation.
Now that the only witness has been killed, he tried so hard to think of his next step.
Then Renee James came over and spoke to him, "Martin, this is Colby Gracie's profile, which I've been sorting out for you all night, and maybe it might help you resolve your case." After that, Renee handed over a copy of the material to Martin James.
"Thank you Renee." Martin James squeezed out a smile.
"Martin, there's not much I can do for you. But as long as you say something and you think I can do it, just let me know and I'd be more than willing to help you out." Renee James added in a serious tone.
"Thank you so much Renee."
Martin James was deeply moved by her words, and there were so many people around him who were willing to help him with his problem.
"You look at the information first and see if it helps you." Renee James smiled and patted Martin James on the shoulder.
Martin James nodded and looked through the material.
"This Colby Gracie's private life is a mess. He's really a man of all walks of life." Martin James sighed after reading the material.
Then Lone Wolf said, "Martin, he might still be attached to his rich brother-in-law."
"Well." Martin James suddenly moved.
