Chapter 267: Chapter 267

Chapter 267 The Failed Plan To Be A Ghost

Led by Jack Isaiah, several people came straight ahead.

"Mr. Isaiah!" Several of the employees in charge of the Ferris wheel recognized Jack Isaiah at a glance.

"I'll bring my friends to play, so allow us to go first!" Jack Isaiah said proudly.

"Okay Mr. Isaiah, please." The staff member makes the requested action.

"Hey, what's happening? We came here before they even got here!" Somebody from the crowd complained.

"Yeah, why are they getting the ride before us?" Another man questioned them, too.

Several people in line saw them getting ahead and everybody were not that happy at all.

Jack Isaiah turned to the men and shouted, "My name is Jack Isaiah! With me as the son of a shareholder in JH Playground, I have special access. What are you guys?"

After hearing him insult them, the people suddenly changed their reactions, and then they were afraid to say anything anymore. So they just kept quiet.

When Jack Isaiah saw it, he then more than satisfied with their unwilling quiet reactions.

"Go, go on the Ferris wheel!" Jack Isaiah waved.

Inside the Ferris wheel, Martin James and Cathy Sidney sat on one side, while Jack Isaiah and his two friends on the other.

Jack Isaiah wanted to sit down with Cathy Sidney but he was simply rejected by Cathy Sidney.

As the Ferris wheel rose, Cathy uttered, "It's so tall, I'm a little scared!"

Then Cathy Sidney grabbed Martin James by the arm.

Immediately, Martin responded and smiled, "Don't be afraid, you can't fall. I'm here."

When Jack noticed it, he felt jealous.

"Oh man, come on, let's change positions!" Jack Isaiah said to Martin James.

"Why should I change with you?" Martin James shrugged off the smile.

Jack Isaiah snuffed out a frown and thought that Martin James would fear his identity and then change seats with him immediately. But to his surprise, he was asked by Martin James.

"Well, I was the main reason why you got in here." Jack Isaiah said proudly.

Ferris wheels were available for a separate fee.

"Isn't that a hundred dollars? Take it!" Martin James smiled coldly, then touched a hundred-dollar bill and threw it in front of Jack Isaiah.

Jack Isaiah's face changed and showed a fierce look in front of Martin James.

"Do you think I'm a man short of this hundred dollars?" Jack Isaiah was not happy by what Martin James did.

Jack Isaiah then threw the money back at Martin James.

Jack Isaiah was so upset that he even tried to rush up and hit Martin James, only to see Cathy Sidney next to him.

"Martin, you're crazy! You don't have crazy capital, and people like you don't usually play well." Jack Isaiah's face was gloomy.

Jack Isaiah's threats were all too much. He also belittled him ever since they met each other earlier.

Cathy, who was just next to them gave out a simple smile.

She knew that Jack Isaiah was treating Martin James as a normal person without money. However, she also knew very well that with the personality of Martin, he may react differently and was just controlling his emotions.

"Mr. Isaiah, thank you for your reminder." Martin James also flashed a playful smile.

After coming down from the Ferris wheel, the group of five came to the queue area in front of the haunted house.

"I have a little stomachache. I have to go to the toilet. And I often go into that haunted house. You go ahead and try it. I won't go inside anymore." Jack Isaiah said.

After that, Jack Isaiah left the queue area and went to the bathroom.

Jack Isaiah had been chasing Cathy Sidney for a while before, but he eventually gave up because there was no hope at all.

But now, after seeing Cathy with Martin, he felt kind of jealous. She was playing at the playground with a poor boy in a cold suit, and that made him envy them. Especially what happened just a while ago on the Ferris wheel, when Cathy Sidney grabbed Martin James by the arm, which of course made him feel too jealous. He wished too hard that that was him in Martin's position.

Jack Isaiah went around the haunted house's dispatch room.

"Mr. Isaiah." Several staff members in the dispatch room got up to salute Jack Isaiah when they saw him.

Jack Isaiah, the son of JH Playground's third-largest shareholder, often wanders around the playground, where the playground staff knew him so well.

"Give me a set of ghost clothes, I'm going to the haunted house to pretend to be a ghost." Jack Isaiah said.

"Mr. Isaiah, the job of pretending to be a ghost, how can you do that?" A staff member asked and wondered what he was up to.

"Where have you come from so much nonsense? Hurry up and get it for me! Take the scariest costumes and props!" Jack Isaiah was impatient.

Jack Isaiah's idea was simple. He'll go into the haunted house and pretend to be a ghost. He'll scare Martin James, and make Martin James look ugly in front of Cathy Sidney.

After seven or eight minutes of queuing, Martin James and Cathy Sidney, along with the two friends of Jack Isaiah, made it into the haunted house and the light went dark in an instant. There was a gloomy and scary sound coming from inside the house.

"Cathy, have you ever been to a haunted house?" Martin James asked.

"No, and I'm a little scared." Cathy Sidney said weakly.

"It's all right, I'm next to you." Martin James comforted her.

"Right." Cathy agreed.

Then suddenly, next to the hungry ghost statue, came a scary roar.

Cathy Sidney was so scared that she hugged Martin James.

Martin James felt her soft skin and smelled her soft jade fragrance.

Cathy Sidney was surprised by her reaction. Then she blushed. She didn't expect herself to rush towards Martin and hold him just like that.

Fortunately, the lights in the haunted house were so dim that Martin James could not see her red-eared appearance.

"Cathy, follow me, don't be afraid!" Martin held Cathy and pulled her gently. He directed her towards a certain direction.

Cathy Sidney trembled when her hand was pulled by Martin James. It was like an electric shock.

But instead of throwing his hands hand away, she allowed him to hold her hand.

Along the way, the haunted house was pretty dark and scary, but Cathy Sidney wasn't as scared as she used to be.

"Cathy, I didn't think you were a strong woman, and as a result, you were a weak girl in life and needed the protection of a man." Martin James said with a laugh.

Cathy Sidney's face was slightly red and she didn't say anything.

Just then, a dark shadow suddenly came out of the darkness, accompanied by a strange cry.

Looking through the dim light, it was a hungry man dressed in terror, his teeth and eyes still green.

"Oh my!" Cathy Sidney yelled in shock and clutched Martin James's hand tightly.

Even Jack Isaiah's two friends were so frightened by the ugly ghost that they blew their hair and screamed together.

After that, he pounced on Martin James.

Martin James was also startled to see the hungry ghost pounce, then Martin James subconsciously flew on the foot.

"Ouch!" The ghost cried.

With that, the hungry ghost was kicked to the ground and screamed.

"What? The voice of the man?" Somebody reacted.

They all realized that the ghost was a man after he shouted because he got hurt.

"Martin, I've heard that there are times when there are real people in the haunted house, and that one must be real. Is it?" Cathy Sidney asked.

"It's really possible. Did I just kick the staff or what?" Martin James showed a touch of embarrassment.

After that, Martin James quickly took out his phone, opened the phone's flashlight and pointed it towards the direction of the so-called ghost who he accidentally kicked. He rushed and picked him up.

"Hey Mister, I'm so sorry for what happened to you. You really scared and surprised me that's why I reacted like that. Don't pounce on me again. It's impossible for me not to react." Martin explained himself but was a little embarrassed by what he did.

"You fool!" The ghost shouted.

"Well? Why is the sound so familiar?" Everybody noticed the familiar voice.

Then Martin James reached for the mask and took it off the staff's head.

"Mr. Isaiah!" They exclaimed.

Then Jack Isaiah tried to cover his face, but he was already seen by his friends.

On Jack Isaiah's face was also a shoe print, apparently, the one that was kicked by Martin James.

"Jack, didn't you say you had a stomachache and you're just going to the bathroom? Why are you playing a ghost here?" Cathy Sidney wondered.

"I--I'm trying to amuse you." Jack Isaiah laughs.

Jack Isaiah was also embarrassed.

Immediately after that, Jack Isaiah looked at Martin James.

"Boy, did you kick me right?" Jack Isaiah glared at Martin James and was too annoyed by what he did.

"Who told you to scare me like that? How would I know it was you?" Martin responded in defense.

Cathy Sidney added, "Jack, he really didn't know it was you."

"Forget it!" Jack Isaiah exclaimed. His voice expressed too much annoyance and embarrassment at the same time.

He wanted Martin James to come out and end up looking like a mess.

Jack Isaiah wanted to have a seizure, but he knew he didn't care, and he didn't want to make a bad impression in front of Cathy Sidney.

But this vendetta, he silently remembered in his heart.

It was just after 3 p.m. after the haunted house incident, and Cathy Sidney said she was a little tired. So she left the playground with Martin James.

Martin James drove Cathy Sidney all the way home.

Along the way, Martin James didn't think Cathy Sidney would mention letting her jump out of gold, because Martin James said before he left this morning. They just had fun that day and didn't talk much about anything else. Their minds were somewhere else to worry other things.

Of course, after today's trip to the playground, Martin James and Cathy Sidney's relationship has also come a long way closer, which was the biggest gain for Martin James today.

At the door of Cathy Sidney's house, she spoke gently to Martin and said, "Martin, thank you so much for today. I had such a wonderful time with you. This is something I will never forget."
