Fighting and arguments are inevitable that was the case of Audrey and Lucas as Jenny took it as an opportunity to keep reminding Lucas about their crush and time together in college. At a time he let her say whatever she wanted. Ignoring her. She didn't lose hope and continued with the sermon.
Audrey saw it as an opportunity to roam free as Bobby or Genevieve wasn't the ones picking her from work. Due to the lies, she had to toss her phone away and bought another one. She wished she didn't burn the death certificate. So she called the investigator again to ask for the name of the hospital that declared her mother dead.
Once she got the name, she checked it and found her mother's name among the bereaved but doubted it so she called ivy.
" Hello aunt, I want to make enquires about the hospital who pronounced my mom died and I want the death certificate. I'm sure you'll be kind enough to bring it right? She asked sternly
" Sure. I'll bring it when next I come to Ukraine. Is that all? She asked in anticipation
" Yes for now" she muttered ending the call. A knock came on the door and she beckoned the person to come in
" Audrey, the management told me to give you this? Said Xander shaking
" What's that? She asked taking it from him then opened it.
" I thought it was a sack letter" she whispered
" They said the hotel in the USA is facing issues and the current manager can't handle the issue. Which they know you're exceptionally good at. So yes it's a transfer letter" he said slowly as if in disagreement
" That's a new leap. " She said as she recalled the trip she was supposed to undergo but was canceled. The meeting too.
" You're going, right? He asked in anticipation
" Of course. I'll have to make some arrangements. But it's a good idea. A new environment with no Lucas" she said whispering the last part to herself. To think of it there at the prime of their relationship and he wants nothing to do with her at the moment. His office has turned to his house.
" Okay. Right now? Asked a disappointed Xander
" Obviously" she scoffed taking her car keys. She has to try her luck and tell him since he doesn't pick her calls.
" Should I drive you?
" Hell no," she refused blatantly taking her suit jacket.
She drove to his building and went straight to his office and saw Jenny setting the table for him to eat and he didn't mind instead he was reading a magazine with his legs crossed without a care in the world.
" Get out" she yelled at Jenny who was scared of her since she almost disfigured her face and she knew Lucas will side her but she decided to try her luck if she has gotten to him yet.
" And who are you to kick me out of here? A common hotel manager that sells herself to get clients" she accused as Audrey faced turned dark. Lucas flipped over the newspaper
" Isn't that what you're doing? Acting like a horny bitch trying to steal my man"
" Your man? That's hilarious. He confessed his love to me when I was seventeen. We've loved each other for years. You're just a distraction to him"
" Oh please shut your mouth. I said get out. " But she continued setting the table. Audrey turned the table upside down spilling the whole dish on the red carpet.
" What have you done you crazy bitch" cried Jenny who hasn't seen a girl as violent as Audrey.
" Will you leave now? She said yet again with a murderous tone that Jenny has to turn to Lucas who was ignoring them.
The guards rushed in and he waved them off to return to their duty post.
" Lucas, will you watch her do this to me? We've been trying to rekindle our love since you said you got rid of this human-wolf" she said intentionally to hurt Audrey and it worked
" I said leave," she said pushing her out. Lucas flipped the pages again without a word. Jenny kept looking at him for help but he didn't bat an eye at her till Audrey pushed her out completely slamming the door on her face.
" Is that what you've been doing? Rekindling your decade-old love hoping to feel something for her again? She asked out of jealousy
" I'm talking to you, Luke. Here I was wasting my time. I have good news. You won't be seeing me here for the whole year. Will that be enough time for you to rekindle your love for her? I guess so " she exclaimed wiping her hands to leave.
" I'm sure you don't shout at your boyfriend and make stupid assumptions about him " he stated flipping over the pages
" I don't have one now. He's smitten by a fake girl " she stated turning to leave
" Audrey, where are you traveling to? He asked if he didn't hear all her rantings
" The hotel transferred me to Los Angeles California. Maybe for the whole year. I came to tell you. "
" You can't go. You just returned from a month's trip. If you must go we're going together" he announced
" What about your dream to rekindle your love for Jenny fake," she asked as he raised a brow at her
" Don't use that word ever again. My carpet is all smudged all thanks to my jealous girlfriend who takes things to the extreme" he said nonchalantly
" That's because I don't want to lose you. I'm honest with you"
" With your feelings yes but not your self " he stood up holding her waist
" I want to know what's happening inside this head of yours. I want to be your shield, Audrey. I want to know what you're battling. What could be so wrong that you're scared of losing me should I learn of it. Audrey, I want to know everything about the woman that I love and cherish" he coerced as she was relieved hearing him say he loves her still.
Lucas had other plans she wasn't ready to tell him even when he threatened her with their relationship which affected him more than her probably.
" I know. I'm contented with what we have now. You own my heart and body Luke. It's all yours" she said amorously not meeting gaze with him.
" That's not everything. I want to own you, Audrey. Not the tits and ass you but the real you that I fell in love with. please " he urged but she hugged him
" I'm so sorry Luke. Please forgive me" she said trying to muster some courage to tell him. Bobby entered as she was about to tell him
" Sorry to interrupt Sir, Adrian is here" he announced as Audrey who felt Lucas hypnotized her regained her self glad she didn't spill. What did he do to her? She wondered but push it outside. Adrian must not meet her here.
" Luke, I'll see you later. Can I wait for you in the mini room? I'm not that fine" she said entering his room before he protests.
Luke gritted his teeth and gave the order for him to come over. Adrian walked majestically into his office and sat down with his legs crossed.
" I thought you were with someone. It's a pity I haven't met the girl that stole your cold heart away" he stated pouring himself some tea
" What's this about? Asked Lucas with a furrowed brow
" History has it that I am obligated to treat you after the contract. Though it took a month it's still valid so I'm just inviting you for dinner. "
" I'll be there"
" You can bring the girl that made you abandon my cousin" he exclaimed
" You don't tell me what to do. Is that all? He asked impatiently
" Yep. Friday evenings by six. I won't take much of your time. Where's the IT guy that was present during the conference?
" What? You did Kno what you're saying" he stated as Adrian frowned. Did she deceive him?
" Lily, she's one of your employees. A sexy hot hourglass lady. Down to earth beautiful. I know you don't notice women but it should occur to you that she's breathtaking" he smirked as Lucas could tell it was Audrey.
" Get out. Take your flirty self out of my office" he snapped pointing to the door
" Fine. I'll get her myself. Chasing girls is my forte" he said leaving.
Lucas locked his office door and joined her in the mini room. She was surfing the web.
" Audrey, when are you leaving for the states? He asked sitting beside her
" As soon as possible. Today or tomorrow. It's urgent" she said facing him
" Don't lie to me again please. you can tell me anything. I won't judge. I've accepted all your shrewish behavior. Although I have a problem with your smoking and drinking habit I can wait for you to stop it. " He said cupping her cheeks
" I missed you, Luke. I won't jeopardize what we have because of my altitude. Hmm," she said stroking his hair which has grown longer.
" I missed you too Audrey. " He murmured between her lips which he was staring at
" Still going to the states with me? She asked waiting for him to kiss her
" How long will you be spending there? He asked staring at her intensely
" Till everything is good. Will you come home to me henceforth? She whispered lost in his eyes
" For the rest of my life", he murmured kissing her forehead then her nose then her eyes locking gaze with her.
" Sorry we can't make out here" he whispered to her ears sending warmth to her spine
" You're right. I will see you at home right? She asked stroking his hair gently
" Yeah. We'll talk better when I get home. Thanks to you my office is a mess" he complained
" I'm sorry. I can't stand seeing another woman around you. It vexes me" she said giving him a slight kiss at the corner of his mouth
" Jealous Girl. Jenny is quite ambitious. You handle her pretty well. You must think I'm cool right? Having you Audrey caused that" he said about to kiss her but stop as if fighting himself
" Not as jealous as you covering my ass for people not to look. It was childish of you" she teased poking his nose noticing the heat around them. Gosh he's on-desire mode she scoffed
" Maybe you should go and prepare for your trip. " He said standing up while walking to the door
" I don't mind making out with you in the office'' she whispered
" I don't feel comfortable with it. "
Audrey picked her bag and walked out thinking about many things. He doesn't hold himself when it comes to intimacy. Does he Suspect her that much? It's a change in their relationship perhaps she'll fix it before she leaves.
