She was a bit frustrated to be on the run again. Especially when she uses one hand to do things. It's more difficult than she anticipated. She couldn't wrap her hair in a ponytail so she left it hanging on her shoulder. She only wishes Ava and Lola to come back soon.
She was finally done after many attempts. She lit a cigarette intending to smoke but she picked a bubble gum instead. Smokers are liable to die young she whispered. She is trying her best to stop it.
Lucas was having a get-together with his friends Four of them. They were from wealthy families too. They discussed business and achievement. Peter decided to tease Lucas
" Still out there hating girls instead of using them I guess"
" Using girls is your job. I don't intend to compete with you" he said coldly making the trio laugh
" You're no saint. We use to have bets on who gets the most difficult girl in school and I recall you always winning" said William
" I'm done with that. You're free to chase them for all I care" he sneered in disgust
" You're right' said Nathaniel whistling.
" See our next bet? Asked peter looking in his direction. The four of them stare lingered on her for minutes. Lucas didn't bother to look their way. They're players, they fall for anything in a skirt.
"The brunette is damn sexy. She's the definition of a real woman" said Roman who was still ogling. Lucas frowned suddenly looking in the direction and saw Audrey in a jumpsuit with her hair dropped. He was stunned he hasn't seen her with her hair down.
" I'll get her. I bet 500 grands" said Pete
" I better 700. She's not your type. " Argued Roman
" She's mine. " Said William Nathan was lost in ogling
Lucas sighed how can he present her to his friends when her enormous ass causes trouble anywhere. Men hardly look away from her. The girls admire her too.
" Our bet is 3 million right? I'll get her to watch me" said William standing up. Lucas ignored them.
Audrey was there to receive a mail. She signed it and saw someone standing in front of her smirking
" Hello, beautiful. I'm Will what's your name? He asked sweetly
" Audrey Zachary thank you" she retorted exhausted yawning
" Can I invite you to my table? It's just for a while. C'mon lovely" he offered to smile at her directing her to his table
She followed his pointing fingers and saw Lucas there. Isn't he good at ignoring people? She's going to do the same.
The five of them were seated at the table discussing mostly. Lucas didn't contribute to their discussion though he caught a glimpse of her from time to time. She ignored him and chatted with his friends. She was surprised he had such friends.
" Can I take you as my plus one this week? Asked Will
" I don't think so. As you can see I have a cast on and I'm unwell. " She explained staring at Lucas. The boys noticed their gaze and knew they had something going on but could tell Lucas refused her.
" So do you have someone you love?. Asked peter
" Not really. I'm not ready for a relationship. Besides he won't trust me. My body attracts males and females. That life isn't for me," she lied
" Let's cheers to that. " They chuckled smiling
"I like you already. Are you a guest here? Asked a fascinated Nathan
" I'm a guest for now. How come you are Mr. Hamilton's friends. How do you put up with him? He doesn't smile." She started earning a glare from him but he didn't say a word
" We like his attitude. It keeps us in check. We need a sane person Among us after all" said, Roman
" Right. I can see that" she whispered
Pete noticed the disappointing tone and smiled Lucas has an admirer
" Don't tell me he's not nice to you? I could walk into the fiery furnace if you told me to" he smirked
" He's out of my league and yes he's not nice at all" she uttered. Lucas raised a brow at her and continue sipping his drink while they talked about him like he wasn't there
" Then forget about him. We're available. How about we hang out " he suggested
Audrey looked at the four boys, she could tell they're players and wealthy. They must have had any girl they want. She could imagine how Lucas fit in with them. He may be rude and arrogant but he's no playboy though he's a jerk.
" No thanks. I'm not cut out for that. if you'll excuse me I got something important to do" she stated standing up to leave.
" Can I have your number? Asked Nathan
" No one has it. " She stared at Lucas who was busy eating then left
" Oh my God Luke. She's totally into you. She kept staring at you. " Said, Williams
" We know you don't like women anymore. You've been celibate for years now. Just fuck her if you won't date her" said, Roman
" Perhaps she doesn't want that either," said Pete who noticed Lucas didn't say a word earlier
" Boys, please. Stop talking about God's greatest mistake "he snapped
" Have you seen Jenny? The world-class beauty?
" She's a bitch and a slut' he cursed
" She was your crush in high school" mocked Nathan
" No she wasn't. . Enough please" he retorted.
Audrey opened the package and saw a photo of her and Luke kissing at the party. She stared at it with admiration remembering his ravishing kiss. She admits she missed hanging out with him.
In the photo, Luke held her waist tight with his chest pressed against hers while she held his back. though her face didn't show Lucas's face did. The picture was taken from the sides.
Her face darkened did Viola see the photos? Lucas promised that she won't be photographed. How did it happen? She had to talk to him about it. She stormed out but stopped when she recalled him having guests.
